Brain-derived neurotrophic factor alterations and cognitive decline in schizophrenia: Implications for early intervention.

This manuscript explores the recent study by Cui which assessed the interplay between inflammatory cytokines and brain-derived neurotrophic factor (BDNF) levels in first-episode schizophrenia patients.
