Negative perceptions or underdeveloped understanding of healthcare team member roles can impact the functionality of the team and stunt innovations in interprofessional practice and education. Therefore, the intent of this study was to explore the perception of pharmacists' role on the healthcare team by future team members: prospective health professional students. The study utilised a survey to examine these perceptions in prospective health professional students (n = 34) nearing the application process to health professional school.

ALDH2*2 and peer drinking in East Asian college students.

Background: The ALDH2*2 allele (A-allele) at rs671 is more commonly carried by Asians and is associated with alcohol-related flushing, a strong adverse reaction to alcohol that is protective against drinking. Social factors, such as having friends who binge drink, also contribute to drinking in Asian youth.

Objectives: This study examined the interplay between ALDH2*2, peer drinking, and alcohol consumption in college students.

Objective: This article overviews training, clinical services, and research on dual disorders across four countries: France, India, Israel, and Spain.

Methods: The current dual disorders systems in each of the four countries were reviewed, with a focus on strengths and limitations of each.

Results: In France, psychiatric care occurs within the public health care system and involves little training of medical graduates for managing dual disorders.

African American women may be especially vulnerable to antepartum depression, a major health concern during pregnancy. This study investigated the prevalence and predictors of depressive symptoms in a sample of African American women who were between 14-17 weeks pregnant, a timeframe that is typically thought to be a time of general well-being. Two-thirds reported a CES-D score ≥ 16 indicative of depressive symptomatology.
