Methods: Unlike the first consensus guidelines based on the RAND/UCLA Appropriateness Method, the French Association for Biological Psychiatry and Neuropsychopharmacology (AFPBN) developed an update of these guidelines for the management of partially responsive depression (PRD) and treatment-resistant depression (TRD). The expert guidelines combine scientific evidence and expert clinicians' opinions to produce recommendations for PRD and TRD.

Objectives: The indications and modalities of breast and axillary surgery are undergoing profound change, with the aim of personalizing surgical management while avoiding over-treatment. To update best practices for axillary surgery, four questions were selected by the Senology Commission of the Collège National des Gynécologues et Obstétriciens Français (CNGOF), focusing on, firstly, the definition and evaluation of targeted axillary dissection (TAD) techniques; secondly, the possibility of surgical de-escalation in case of initial lymph node involvement while performing initial surgery; thirdly, in case of surgery following neo-adjuvant systemic therapy (NAST), and fourthly, contra-indications to de-escalation of axillary surgery to allow access to particular adjuvant systemic therapies.

Methods: The Senology Commission based its responses primarily on an analysis of the international literature, clinical practice recommendations and national and international guidelines.

Despite various international regulatory initiatives over the last 20 years, many challenges remain in the field of paediatric drug development and evaluation. Indeed, drug research and development is still focused essentially on adult indications, thereby excluding many paediatric patients, limiting the feasibility of trials and favouring competing developments. Off-label prescribing persists and the development of age-appropriate dosage forms for children remains limited.

[Therapeutic approaches for sleep and rhythms disorders in children with ASD].

Sleep disturbances are extremely common (40-86%) in children and adolescents, especially those with autism spectrum disorders (ASD) and are often among the first symptoms identified by parents at a very early stage of their child's development. These abnormalities are among the main parental concerns when having a child with ASD and have a significant impact on the quality of life of patients, their parents, and more broadly their siblings. Sleep disorders are essentially abnormalities of the sleep-wake rhythm - primarily sleep onset insomnia or nocturnal awakenings (with difficulty falling back to sleep).

Article Synopsis
  • In 2008, guidelines were established for researching autophagy, which has since gained significant interest and new technologies, necessitating regular updates to monitoring methods across various organisms.
  • The new guidelines emphasize selecting appropriate techniques to evaluate autophagy while noting that no single method suits all situations; thus, a combination of methods is encouraged.
  • The document highlights that key proteins involved in autophagy also impact other cellular processes, suggesting genetic studies should focus on multiple autophagy-related genes to fully understand these pathways.

Shoot branching is a pivotal process during plant growth and development, and is antagonistically orchestrated by auxin and sugars. In contrast to extensive investigations on hormonal regulatory networks, our current knowledge on the role of sugar signalling pathways in bud outgrowth is scarce. Based on a comprehensive stepwise strategy, we investigated the role of glycolysis/the tricarboxylic acid (TCA) cycle and the oxidative pentose phosphate pathway (OPPP) in the control of bud outgrowth.
