Irreversible electroporation (IRE) is a soft tissue ablation technique that uses short electrical fields which induce the death of target cells. To evaluate the safety and efficacy of an IRE-based device compared to regular radiofrequency ablation (RFA) of solid liver tumors, in this multicenter, randomized, parallel-arm, non-inferiority study, 152 patients with malignant liver tumors were randomized into IRE (n = 78) and RFA (n = 74) groups. The primary endpoint was the success rate of tumor ablation; the secondary endpoints included the tumor ablation time, complications, tumor recurrence rates and treatment-related adverse events (TRAE).

The objective of this trial is to evaluate and compare the acute toxicity in patients with locoregionally advanced nasopharyngeal carcinoma (LA-NPC) treated with docetaxel plus cisplatin, or docetaxel, or cisplatin concurrently with helical tomotherapy during concurrent chemoradiotherapy (CCRT). In a prospective, single-center, open-label, randomized phase II study, after 2 cycles of induction chemotherapy with docetaxel plus cisplatin regimen, 125 patients with LA-NPC (stage III and IVA, UICC eighth) diagnosed pathologically from June 2017 to November 2019 were randomized into CCRT with docetaxel plus cisplatin group (25 patients), CCRT with docetaxel group (50 patients), and CCRT with cisplatin group (50 patients). The incidence of grade 3 or 4 acute toxicities and clinical efficacy were analyzed among the 3 groups.

We studied the efficacy and safety of the combined treatment with programmed cell death 1 (PD-1) inhibitors and anti-CD19 chimeric antigen receptor (CAR) T-cell therapy and subsequent PD-1 inhibitor maintenance treatment in patients with relapsed/refractory (R/R) diffuse large B-cell lymphoma (DLBCL) and high tumor burden. Forty-four R/R DLBCL patients with high tumor burden were enrolled in this study. The experimental group of 26 patients received combined therapy with PD-1 inhibitors and anti-CD19-CAR T cells, while the control group of 18 patients received anti-CD19-CAR T-cell therapy alone.

Neonatal hypoxic-ischemic brain damage (HIBD) is one of the main causes of neonatal acute death and chronic nervous system impairment, but still lacks effective treatments. ZNF580/ZFP580, reported in our previous studies, may be a newly identified member of the Krüppel-like factor (KLF) family, and has anti-apoptotic effects during ischemic myocardial injury. In the present study, we showed that the expression levels of both ZFP580/ZNF580 mRNA and protein increased significantly in neonatal HIBD rats and oxygen-glucose deprivation (OGD) SH-SY5Y cell models.
