Aims: The Female Pelvic Floor Questionnaire (FPFQ) is a self-administered tool on pelvic floor function. Our aim was to carry out a cultural adaptation of the FPFQ into French and to assess its psychometric properties.

Methods: After cross-cultural adaptation into French, acceptability and reliability of the questionnaire were assessed through a sample of 56 women in a test-retest.

Measuring health-related quality of life in women with endometriosis: comparing the clinimetric properties of the Endometriosis Health Profile-5 (EHP-5) and the EuroQol-5D (EQ-5D).

Study Question: Which of the Endometriosis Health Profile-5 (EHP-5) and the EuroQol-5D (EQ-5D) is the most efficient to assess quality of life in women suffering from endometriosis?

Summary Answer: Although EHP-5 and EQ-5D instruments had an excellent responsiveness, EHP-5 has a better discriminative ability than EQ-5 to measure health-related quality of life (HrQoL).

What Is Known Already: Proper measurement of HrQoL is important in endometriosis. While many quality of life instruments are available, few have been completely validated in endometriosis.

[Care pathways before diagnosis in children and adolescents with malignancies].

Objective: to describe medical care pathways between first symptoms and first oncologic consultation in children and adolescents with solid cancers in order to analyze a possible relationship between delayed diagnosis and its potential consequences.

Methods: Retrospective study on patients aged less than 25 years at first consultation in the oncology department of pediatric, adolescent and young adult in Institut Curie during one year. Were collected data on cancer characteristics, components of care pathways, and sociodemographic parents' characteristics.

Overview and guidelines of off-label use of methotrexate in ectopic pregnancy: report by CNGOF.

Our objective is to describe off-label use of methotrexate in ectopic pregnancy treatment using evidence based medicine. The patient group includes all women with a pregnancy outside the usual endometrium, or of unknown location. Method used was a Medline search on ectopic pregnancy managed using methotrexate treatment; evidence synthesis was done based on this current literature analysis.

The emerging microduplication 3q13.31: Expanding the genotype-phenotype correlations of the reciprocal microdeletion 3q13.31 syndrome.

Microdeletion and microduplication syndromes are well-known causes of developmental delay and/or malformations of differing severity. It was recently reported that a microdeletion at the 3q13.31 locus is associated with a new syndrome combining developmental delay, postnatal overgrowth and dysmorphic features.

Anti-N-Methyl-d-Aspartate Receptor Encephalitis in Adult Patients Requiring Intensive Care.

We report a rare case of recurrent trisomy 21 caused by an isochromosome 21q and what is very likely to be maternal germ-line cell mosaicism. Over 90% of cases of rob(21;21) reported in the literature are due to an isochromosome 21q, with a risk of recurrence of more than 10%.

Management of varicella-zoster virus primary infection during pregnancy: A national survey of practice.

Background: Varicella (VZV) infection in pregnancy can result in serious outcomes: maternal pneumoniae irrespective of the term of pregnancy, and lead to congenital varicella syndrome before 18 weeks of gestation and neonatal varicella. There are between 350 and 500 cases a year in France. Until now, there have been no scientific obstetrical guidelines for clinical practice in France for VZV infection during pregnancy.

Short-term spontaneous fluctuations of HBV DNA levels in a Senegalese population with chronic hepatitis B.

Background: We evaluated the short-term spontaneous fluctuations of HBV DNA and HBsAg levels in Senegalese patients with chronic infection with hepatitis B virus and normal ALT and determined factors related to these fluctuations.

Method: A total of 87 patients with persistent normal ALT values were enrolled in the study. Serum samples were obtained at three different visits, with an interval of 2 months (M0, M2, and M4), and without initiating anti HBV treatment.

Minimal change nephrotic syndrome associated with non-Hodgkin lymphoid disorders: a retrospective study of 18 cases.

Few studies have examined the occurrence of minimal change nephrotic syndrome (MCNS) in patients with non-Hodgkin lymphoma (NHL). We report here a series of 18 patients with MCNS occurring among 13,992 new cases of NHL. We analyzed the clinical and pathologic characteristics of this association, along with the response of patients to treatment, to determine if this association relies on a particular disorder.

[Use of glue in laparoscopic sacrocolpopexy. A comparative study about 32 cases].

Aim: To study the impact of the use of glue instead of some laparoscopic sutures, on the operative time, the morbidity, and the short-term anatomical and functional results in the laparoscopic sacrocolpopexy (LSCP).

Patients And Methods: Thirty-two patients underwent a LSCP at Poissy-St-Germain-en-Laye University Hospital. The fixation of prostheses was made either exclusively by sutures (Group S), or by associating sutures (on traction sites) and biological glue (GroupC).

Ambulatory haemorrhoidal surgery: systematic literature review and qualitative analysis.

Purpose: The aims of this study are to review the advantages and drawbacks of the ambulatory management of patients scheduled for haemorrhoidal surgery and to highlight the reasons for unplanned hospital admission and suggest preventive strategies.

Methods: We conducted a systematic review of the literature from January 1999 to January 2013 using MEDLINE and EMBASE databases. Manuscripts were specifically analysed for failure and side effects of haemorrhoidal surgery in ambulatory settings.

[Two pediatric cases of anti-NMDA receptor antibody encephalitis].

Although less frequent than viral encephalitis, anti-N-methyl-D-aspartate receptor (NMDAR) encephalitis is a frequent form of acute pediatric encephalitis. After a prodromal phase of flu-like symptoms, psychiatric symptoms predominate - agitation, anxiety, hallucinations - and can make correct diagnosis more difficult. Also noted are abnormal dyskinesia and dystonia-like movements, partial seizures, difficulties talking or memorizing, and autonomic manifestations.

[Urinary incontinence in nulliparous women: prevalence and evaluation of self-perineal reeducation].

Aims: To assess the prevalence of urinary incontinence (UI) in a population of young nulliparous women and the effectiveness of self-perineal exercises in symptomatic women.

Material: Three hundred and fifteen nulliparous students from French secondary establishments answered through a secure website, created for the study, an anonymous questionnaire about UI. The questionnaire included validated symptom scores (International Consultation on Incontinence Questionnaire-Short Form, ICIQ-UI SF) and quality of life (Contilife).

Extracorporeal life support for patients with acute respiratory distress syndrome: report of a Consensus Conference.

The influenza H1N1 epidemics in 2009 led a substantial number of people to develop severe acute respiratory distress syndrome and refractory hypoxemia. In these patients, extracorporeal membrane oxygenation was used as rescue oxygenation therapy. Several randomized clinical trials and observational studies suggested that extracorporeal membrane oxygenation associated with protective mechanical ventilation could improve outcome, but its efficacy remains uncertain.

Good knowledge of normal characteristics of prenatal three vessels and trachea view allows not only to detect, but also to identify abnormalities such as normal variants and malformations of interest to main vessels (trunk of the pulmonary artery and its branches, the aorta and the superior vena cava) and various vascular structures in the anterior-superior mediastinum. These abnormalities may be isolated or associated with other anomalies of cardiac architecture.
