Introduction: The simultaneous bilateral release of carpal tunnels still remains a non-unanimous practice. We prospectively studied the contribution of ultrasound-guided surgery coupled with Walant anaesthesia in the simultaneous release of both carpal tunnels.

Materials And Methods: Patients who presented bilateral clinical involvement confirmed by electromyogram were operated on in the operating room under Walant anaesthesia by minimally invasive knife section under ultrasound guidance.

Resilience after severe critical illness: a prospective, multicentre, observational study (RESIREA).

Background: Critical-illness survivors may experience post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) and quality-of-life impairments. Resilience may protect against psychological trauma but has not been adequately studied after critical illness. We assessed resilience and its associations with PTSD and quality of life, and also identified factors associated with greater resilience.

Objectives: Vibrio cholerae non-O1/non-O139 (NOVC) bacteremia is infrequently reported in Western countries and is associated with unfavorable outcome.

Patient/method: We describe here the case of a diabetic patient with hepatic cytolysis and NOVC bacteremia following an episode of diarrhea.

Result: The patient was paucisymptomatic and had a favorable resolution with oral ciprofloxacin.

Purpose: Acute mesenteric ischemia (AMI) is a rare, but life-threatening condition occurring among critically ill patients. Several factors have been associated with AMI, but the causal link is debated, most studies being retrospective. Among these factors, enteral nutrition (EN) could be associated with AMI, in particular among patients with shock.

As a result, the first confinement had a strong impact on the accessibility to care for particularly vulnerable patients. While the lockdown has been eased after a few weeks, the respect of hygiene rules and barrier gestures still impacts the therapeutic framework of the institution.

[Impact of an educational video on the representations of electroconvulsive therapy among psychiatrists in Hauts-de-France and Occitanie].

Introduction: Despite its effectiveness and good tolerance, electro-convulsive therapy (ECT) is under-used in current clinical practice probably because of stigma and the negative image of this treatment. The main objective of this study was to evaluate the impact of an educational video on the representations of ECT among psychiatrists and psychiatric residents in the North and in Occitanie districts of France.

Method: We evaluated the representations of ECT through the Questionnaire on Attitudes and Knowledge of ECT (QuAKE) before (T0) and after (T1) viewing a short educational video.

Permanent hemidiaphragmatic paresis after interscalene brachial plexus block: a case report.

Interscalene brachial plexus block has been widely used in shoulder surgery. We report one case of long-term phrenic palsy following ultrasound-guided interscalene brachial plexus block and we will discuss the possible etiology and mechanism of this disability. For painful shoulder surgery, ultrasound-guided interscalene brachial plexus block remains topical.

[Comparison of two doses of intra-articular tranexamic acid on postoperative bleeding in total knee arthroplasty: a randomized clinical trial].

Background: Telephone consultations in general practice are on the increase.
