Background: Acute kidney injury (AKI) is a common condition that is associated with poor short- and long-term outcomes. The aim of this nationwide cohort study was to profile the long-term outcome of patients admitted for AKI in France.
Methods: Based on the comprehensive French hospital discharge database, all hospitalizations for an AKI episode were categorized in four groups according to the presence of at least one dialysis session [renal replacement therapy (RRT)] and according to the coding of AKI as the principal or associated diagnosis (PRINC_DIAG or ASS_DIAG).

Introduction: The diagnosis of the antiphospholipid syndrome (APS) is based on clinical and biological criteria including the persistent presence of antiphospholipid antibodies and thrombotic events or pregnancy morbidity. Heparins relayed by vitamin K antagonists (VKA) are the gold standard treatment for thrombosis.
Case Report: We report a 17-year-old man who presented with an initially seronegative antiphospholipid syndrome, in whom the diagnosis was late, only obtained after anticoagulation withdrawing, when a catastrophic antiphospholipid syndrome (CAPS) with cutaneous lesions and disseminated intravascular coagulation syndrome occurred.

Background: In dialysis patients, a misevaluation of dry weight may lead to an increased morbidity and mortality. The aim of this cross-sectional multicenter study was to evaluate the association between residual urinary sodium excretion and extracellular volume status in chronically treated hemodialysis patients.
Patients And Methods: Dry weight was determined clinically and by whole-body bioimpedance spectroscopy (Body Composition Monitor, Fresenius Medical Care) prior to a mid-week session in 40 chronic hemodialysis patients with significant residual diuresis (more than 250 mL per day) and receiving treatment in four dialysis centers.

Lymphomatoid granulomatosis, described in 1972 by Liebow, is a rare, Epstein-Barr virus (EBV)-associated lymphoproliferative disorder, involving the lung, and often the skin or the central nervous system. It could have a systemic course making its diagnosis difficult. Controversy still remains about precise taxonomy and lymphomatoid granulomatosis is classified as a lymphoma, whose severity extends from indolent forms to aggressive large B cell lymphomas.

Hereditary angioneurotic edema is a dominant autosomal disease (incidence 1/150,000), whose diagnosis is crucial as this condition can lead to fatal asphyxia within minutes. We report the case of a three-year-old girl, misdiagnosed as allergic asthma. Recognition of the syndrome led to adapted care restoring normal family and school life.
