Introduction: Dimethyl fumarate (DMF) has demonstrated a favorable benefit-risk profile in patients with relapsing-remitting multiple sclerosis (RRMS) in clinical and real-world studies. The ESTEEM study (NCT02047097) was conducted to assess the long-term safety and effectiveness of delayed-release DMF in patients with relapsing forms of MS in routine clinical practice. We report final outcomes from ESTEEM with up to 6.

Background: Peanut allergy is a potentially life-threatening food allergy in children. This study explored whether dupilumab, a human monoclonal immunoglobulin (Ig)G4 antibody that blocks the activity of interleukin (IL)-4/IL-13, improved safety and desensitization to peanut exposure in children with peanut allergy.
Methods: A Phase II, 24-week, multicenter, single-arm, open-label, proof-of-concept study was conducted in the USA and Canada (NCT03793608).

Background: Diagnosis of HIV-associated histoplasmosis remains challenging. Our objective was to compare the performances of (1→3)-β-D-Glucan (BDG) and Aspergillus galactomannan (GM) antigen for the diagnosis of HIV-associated histoplasmosis.
Methods: We performed a diagnostic accuracy study using frozen primary serum specimens issued from consecutive hospitalized people living with HIV (PLWH) and blindly tested for BDG and GM using Fungitell® and PlateliaTM Aspergillus, respectively.

Adenomyosis is an important clinical condition with uncertain prevalence, and clinical focus on adenomyosis in patients undergoing assisted reproductive technology (ART) has increased during recent years. Recognizing the limited clinical knowledge on the impact of adenomyosis on ART outcomes, the First Lugano Adenomyosis Workshop was a symposium involving experts in the field of adenomyosis, covering basic research, imaging, surgery and infertility to highlight current advances and future research areas over a wide range of topics related to adenomyosis. Adenomyosis is characterized by altered oestrogen and progesterone signalling pathways.

Objective: To evaluate the prognostic impact of circulating tumor DNA (ctDNA) detection at diagnosis (T0) and its early decrease after one cycle (T1) of neoadjuvant chemotherapy (NACT) in patients with advanced epithelial ovarian cancer (EOC) included in the CHIVA trial (NCT01583322).
Methods: Blood samples were collected at T0 and before each administration of NACT. Circulating tumor DNA detection was performed by next-generation sequencing.

Background: Hemodialysis (HD) contributes significantly to healthcare's carbon footprint. Worldwide about 100,000 dialysis machines end their life cycle each year. Our aim was to analyze the composition and the potential for recyclability of two dialysis machines, from the two companies with the largest market share, which had met their end-of-use terms (10-12 years of use according to French regulations).

Background: Patients with brain damage often require mechanical ventilation. Although lung-protective ventilation is recommended, the application of increased positive end-expiratory pressure (PEEP) has been associated with elevated intracranial pressure (ICP) due to altered cerebral venous return. This study investigates the effects of flow-controlled ventilation (FCV) using negative end-expiratory pressures (NEEP), on cerebral hemodynamics in a swine model of intracranial hypertension.

Liver Unit, Centre Hospitalier de l'Université de Montréal, Montreal, Canada.
Background: The reported prevalence of cystic fibrosis (CF)-related liver disease (CFLD) reaches up to 40% in some cohorts. CFLD is the 3rd leading cause of mortality among patients with CF. The aims of this study were to evaluate the prevalence of CFLD in a cohort followed at a tertiary university center, to define the types of liver involvement, and to determine how non-invasive screening methods can be optimally integrated into clinical practice.

Group A (GAS) is a ubiquitous pathogen responsible for a wide range of infections, from superficial to severe invasive forms (iGAS). Among these, primary bacterial peritonitis (PBP) due to GAS is a rare but severe presentation. Recent epidemiological data indicate a significant rise in iGAS cases globally, which may be linked to changes in post-pandemic pathogen circulation.

Background And Hypothesis: Kidney involvement, along with cardiac disease, is the most frequent manifestation of systemic AL amyloidosis usually resulting in nephrotic-range proteinuria. Rarely, deposits predominantly or exclusively affect the intrarenal arterioles or arteries, these vascular-limited forms following a distinct clinical course, but very little is known about these forms. Our work plan at better characterizing renal vascular limited AL amyloidosis.

Introduction: Iron deficiency, with or without anaemia, is common during the peri-operative period. It has been hypothesised that pre-operative iron deficiency is associated with an increased incidence of postoperative infection. We designed the CARIPO prospective observational study to assess the incidence of postoperative infection in patients with and without iron deficiency undergoing a variety of major surgeries.
