Enamel protection after stripping procedures: An in vivo study.

Introduction: Interproximal enamel reduction (IPR) is a clinical procedure that has been in use since the advent of non-extraction orthodontic techniques. However, such a procedure affects the surface condition of the enamel and may predispose patients to cavities and hypersensitivity. The use of a remineralizing agent is recommended to prevent these side effects.

In vivo enamel stripping: A macroscopic and microscopic analytical study.

Introduction: Interdental stripping is often used in orthodontics to correct discrepancies of tooth shape or size. However, this procedure involves significant risks for the enamel. The roughness of the enamel surface might depend on the instruments used; it can lead to the accumulation of cariogenic plaque and periodontal problems.

[Aggregatibacter actinomycetemcomitans and Porphyromonas gingivalis in aggressive periodontitis in Morocco -- preliminary study].

Objective: The microbial eatiology of aggressive perodontitis is different worldwidly. The purpose of this study was to determine the presence or absence of two anaerobic, highly pathogenic bacteria, Aggregatibacter actinomycetemcomitans and Porphyromonas gingivalis (P.g) in aggressive periodontitis in a Moroccan population.

[Alveolitis: review of the literature].

Alveolitis are infectious complications following the dental extraction. They appear under two forms: dry, characterized by a painful syndrome and uninhabited alveolus, and suppurative, which becomes identified by provoked pain and alveolus filled. Their etiopathogenesis remain a subject of interrogation because of the rarity of studies concerning this complication.

[Oral Burkitt lymphoma in an immunocompetent patient].

We report a case of Burkitt lymphoma of the jaws in an immunocompetent adolescent, revealed by intraoral swelling. An orthopantomogram showed multiple osteolytic lesions. Biopsy revealed Burkitt lymphoma.

Repair of untreated horizontal root fractures: two case reports.

To present two cases of root fractures which have healed spontaneously without any treatment? This article describes two untreated horizontal root fracture of the maxillary incisors. The fractured teeth were without any sign or symptom, and tested as vital to thermal and electric pulp test. These fractures were discovered during a routine full-mouth radiographic examination.

[In situ penicillin therapy in the treatment of epulis].

An epulis is a hyperplastic tumor of the oral mucosa. The pathophysiology of epulis is unclear. Standard treatment consists of surgical excision but in situ penicillin therapy was recently proposed.
