Unlabelled: According to the World Health Organization (WHO), burnout is a syndrome conceptualized as resulting from chronic occupational stress that has not been successfully managed. It is characterized by emotional exhaustion, cynicism toward work, and a lack of personal accomplishment at work. Recent WHO guidelines on mental health suggest that mindfulness could have beneficial effects in a professional environment, but to the best of our knowledge, there is currently no study that has made a large inventory of research focused specifically on the effects of standardized programs on burnout.

[Use of placebo in French hospitals: data from polyvalent medicine units].

A placebo drug is defined as a treatment without any specific pharmacological efficacy, that works when the patient thinks to receive an active treatment, through a psychological and physiological mechanism. This study aimed to evaluate the use of placebo in French hospitals, in Polyvalent Medicine units. A questionnaire comprising 15 items was sent to 372 units.

We report a case of cefepime neurotoxicity characterised by myoclonic status epilepticus with coma, in a context of acute renal failure and requiring one discontinuous conventional haemodialysis. Cefepime is a fourth-generation broad-spectrum cephalosporin mainly used to treat hospital-acquired Gram-negative infections. Acute neurotoxicity is an increasingly reported adverse effect which occurs predominantly in patients with renal impairment.

This severe form of meningococcaemia is difficult to diagnose and evolves frequently and gradually towards a tamponade, requiring emergency drainage.
