Nurses are obliged to set professional boundaries in nurse-patient relationships. Relationships with patients that are pursued outside of working hours (dual relationships) are commonly prohibited by legislation and professional codes of ethics, but some nurses still engage in them. A thematic analysis of qualitative interviews revealed that the nurses experienced ambivalence regarding how they see the patients, their assessment of the dual relationships and how people around the nurses react to the relationships.

Objectives: The effect of long-term adaptive servo-ventilation (ASV) on cardiovascular mortality and admission rates in patients with chronic heart failure (CHF) and Cheyne-Stokes respiration (CSR) has not been much studied. The aim of this study was primarily to investigate whether ASV therapy significantly reduced these parameters.

Design: We included 75 CHF patients on optimal medication and CSR ≥25% of sleeping time, in New York Heart Association (NYHA) classes II-IV and left ventricular ejection fraction (LVEF) ≤ 45%.

Auto-transplant of cryopreserved ovarian tissue in leukemia patients carries a risk to reintroduce malignant cells. Maturation of ovarian follicles in vitro is a promising strategy to overcome the leukemic cell contamination. The follicle development and survival in 14 cryopreserved ovarian tissues with leukemia-specific PCR marker was evaluated after 7 or 14 days culture.

Background: The aim of establishing the medical school in Tromsø in 1973 was to improve access to doctors and standards of health care for the previously underprivileged rural population of Northern Norway. In this study we examine how the aim of supplying doctors to the north has been achieved.

Material And Methods: By utilising a cross-sectional design we have analysed 34 classes of Tromsø medical graduates (1979-2012) with regard to occupations in 2013 by the year of graduation and by successive pools of cohorts.
