Background: Suspected myocardial infarction (MI) with nonobstructive coronary arteries (MINOCA) occurs in ≈5% to 10% of patients with MI referred for coronary angiography. The prognosis of these patients may differ to those with MI and obstructive coronary artery disease (MI-CAD) and those without a MI (patients without known history of MI [No-MI]). The primary objective of this study is to evaluate the 12-month all-cause mortality of patients with MINOCA.

Sarcopenia is a syndrome characterized by loss of muscle mass and strength that impacts clinical outcomes and mortality in cancer patients. Although the molecular pathways involved in sarcopenia are not fully elucidated, the decrease in protein synthesis rate appears to be one of the most important events. The objective of this study was to investigate the relationship between sarcopenia and mTOR signaling pathway in patients undergoing colorectal resection surgery.

While much has been made of the value of Buddhist mindfulness in clinical treatment, little attention has been given over to its parallels, if not antecedents in Hindu philosophy. Buddhist traditions in the vipassana, ch'an and zen tradition, and the practices associated, find their roots in Advaita philosophy and practice. This article looks at the useful/effective nature of Advaita and its specific application in clinical hypnosis.

Objective: To improve patient care/outcome, an evaluation was conducted of nursing procedures and protocols for pro re nata (PRN) medications.
Methods: A 14-day chart review was conducted for 27 patients with mood and thought disorders (MTD) and for 24 patients with organic disorders (OD) at a geriatric psychiatric hospital, and a questionnaire was completed by 20 nurses.
Results: 377 PRNs were administered to patients in the MTD and OD units (240 and 137, respectively).

Endocrine mucin-producing sweat gland carcinoma (EMPSGC) is a rare, often underrecognized, low-grade sweat gland carcinoma of the skin of the eyelid. To date, only 20 cases of this carcinoma have been reported, most frequently in Caucasian females with an average age of 70 years. Although the diagnosis is primarily made with immunohistochemical stain, compared to endocrine ductal carcinoma in situ, clinical detection serves as a potentially curative treatment.
