MR-guided focal cryoablation of prostate cancer has often been selected as a minimally-invasive treatment option. Placing multiple cryo-needles accurately to form an ablation volume that adequately covers the target volume is crucial for better oncological/functional outcomes. Precision medicine is an integrative approach to cardiovascular disease prevention and treatment that considers an individual's genetics, lifestyle, and exposures as determinants of their cardiovascular health and disease phenotypes. This focus overcomes the limitations of reductionism in medicine, which presumes that all patients with the same signs of disease share a common pathophenotype and, therefore, should be treated similarly. Precision medicine incorporates standard clinical and health record data with advanced panomics (ie, transcriptomics, epigenomics, proteomics, metabolomics, and microbiomics) for deep phenotyping.

Methods: We performed a narrative review of the publications of the NHS and NHS II between 1976 and 2016.

Results: Diets low in trans fat, saturated fat, refined carbohydrates, and sugar-sweetened beverages and rich in fruits and vegetables, whole grains, and sources of unsaturated fats are associated with reduced risk of cardiovascular disease.

A new study identifies SPRY4 as a tumor suppressor in acute myeloid leukemia and shows that loss of SPRY4 acts as an alternative mechanism to drive RAS signaling. In addition, a paradigm of cooperativity in which combined loss of multiple negative regulators of the RAS pathway supplants the need for RAS mutations is suggested.
