Cowden syndrome (CS) is an autosomal dominant genodermatosis associated with characteristic mucocutaneous findings of facial trichilemmomas, palmoplantar keratoses, sclerotic fibromas, and oral papillomas. Mucocutaneous neuromas have also been reported in association with CS. We describe a patient with CS whose sole cutaneous finding was palisaded encapsulated neuromas (PENs) with a plexiform growth pattern in an acral location.

Objective: To determine if a non-invasive, repeatable test can be used to predict neurodevelopmental outcomes in patients with congenital heart disease.
Methods: This was a prospective study of pediatric patients less than two months of age undergoing congenital heart surgery at the Children's Health Children's Medical Center at Dallas. Multichannel near-infrared spectroscopy (NIRS) was utilized during the surgery, and ultrasound (US) resistive indices (RI) of the major cranial vessels were obtained prior to surgery, immediately post-operatively, and prior to discharge.

Background: Despite intensive therapy, children with metastatic and recurrent sarcoma or neuroblastoma have a poor prognosis. Magnetic resonance guided high intensity focused ultrasound (MR-HIFU) is a noninvasive technique allowing the delivery of targeted ultrasound energy under MR imaging guidance. MR-HIFU may be used to ablate tumors without ionizing radiation or target chemotherapy using hyperthermia.

Objective: To evaluate the continued effect of a sequential treatment strategy (fluoxetine followed by continued medication plus relapse prevention cognitive-behavioral therapy [RP-CBT]) on relapse prevention beyond the treatment phase.
Method: Youth (aged 8-17 years) with major depressive disorder (MDD) were treated with fluoxetine for 6 weeks. Responders (≥50% reduction on the Children's Depression Rating Scale-Revised [CDRS-R]) were randomized to continued medication management alone (MM) or continued medication management plus RP-CBT (MM+CBT) for an additional 6 months.

Lenticulostriate vasculopathy (LSV) is a diagnosis dependent on neonatal cranial ultrasound (US). The diagnosis of LSV requires the presence of linear or branching echogenicities in the area of the basal ganglia and/or thalamus on gray scale cranial US. Although the diagnosis of LSV is dependent on cranial US, there are no convincing correlates observed on either computerized tomography or magnetic resonance imaging.
