Background: Patients with non-mast cell mediator-induced angioedema (NM-AE) usually experience a diagnostic delay. Therefore, a clinical tool for predicting NM-AE diagnosis is essential.
Objective: To identify clinical predictors related to a confirmed diagnosis of NM-AE.

Background: Breast cancer brain metastases (BCBM) are highly heterogenous with widely differing survival. The prognosis of the oligometastatic breast cancer (BC) patients with brain metastases (BM) has not been well studied. We aimed to investigate the prognosis of BCBM patients with limited intracranial and extracranial metastatic lesions.

Background: Mitral valve prolapse (MVP) is associated with aggravated risk of ventricular tachycardia (VT), ventricular fibrillation (VF) and sudden cardiac death (SCD). There is a lack of specific guideline recommendation regarding risk stratification and management, despite multiple proposed high-risk phenotypes. We performed systematic review and meta-analysis to evaluate high-risk phenotypes for malignant arrhythmias in patients with MVP.

Background: Carpal tunnel syndrome (CTS) is the most common entrapment mononeuropathy. Menopausal status and/or estrogen level may play a role in CTS. The evidence regarding the association between hormone replacement therapy (HRT) in postmenopausal women and CTS is still conflicting.

No evidence shows that one intranasal corticosteroid (INCS) is better than another for treating moderate-to-severe allergic rhinitis (AR). This network meta-analysis assessed the comparative efficacy and acceptability of licensed dose aqueous INCSs. PubMed/MEDLINE, Scopus, EMBASE, and the Cochrane Central Register of Controlled Trials were searched until 31 March 2022.

Introduction/objective: Extubation failure increases morbidity and mortality in pediatric cardiac patients, a unique population including those with congenital heart disease or acquired heart disease. This study aimed to evaluate the predictive factors of extubation failure in pediatric cardiac patients and to determine the association between extubation failure and clinical outcomes.
Methods: We conducted a retrospective study in the pediatric cardiac intensive care unit (PCICU) of the Faculty of Medicine, Chiang Mai University, Chiang Mai, Thailand, from July 2016 to June 2021.

The dose selection for isobaric bupivacaine determines the success of spinal anesthesia (SA). A dose higher than the optimal dose causes high SA, whereas an underdose leads to inadequate spread of cephalad. As it involves anatomical and physiological alterations, the dosing should be reduced with advancing age and body mass index values.

Importance: The treatment of moderate to severe meibomian gland dysfunction (MGD) with oral doxycycline requires a 6-week course of treatment and has frequent adverse effects (AEs), which may be associated with poor compliance.
Objective: To determine if the AEs of a 3-week course of oral azithromycin were equivalent to the AEs of a 6-week course of oral doxycycline.
Design, Setting, And Participants: This double-masked randomized clinical trial was conducted at a referral center in Thailand from September 2018 to May 2022.

The discovery of potent EGFR-tyrosine kinase inhibitors (EGFR-TKIs) has revolutionized the treatment of EGFR-mutated lung cancer. Despite the fact that EGFR-TKIs have yielded several significant benefits for lung cancer patients, the emergence of resistance to EGFR-TKIs has been a substantial impediment to improving treatment outcomes. Understanding the molecular mechanisms underlying resistance is crucial for the development of new treatments and biomarkers for disease progression.

This study aimed to assess the predictive performance of the National Early Warning Score 2 (NEWS2) to identify the early progression to severe disease in patients with community-acquired pneumonia (CAP). A prospective-cohort study was conducted among patients with CAP admitted to a university hospital between October 2020 and December 2021. The endpoint of interest was the progression to severe CAP, defined as the requirement for a mechanical ventilator, a vasopressor, or death within 72 h after hospital admission.

The outcomes of advanced non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) patients have been significantly improved with novel therapies, such as tyrosine kinase inhibitors and immune checkpoint inhibitors. However, in resource-limited countries, platinum-doublet chemotherapy is mainly used as a first-line treatment. We investigate clinical parameters to predict the response after chemotherapy, which may be useful for patient selection.

Objective: This study aimed to evaluate the survival from fractures and risk factors of VPT-treated permanent molars restored with direct resin composites in young patients.
Methods: The dental records of patients aged 6 to 18 years with VPT-treated permanent molars restored with resin composites were retrospectively evaluated for the presence of fractures on these teeth. Kaplan-Meier methods were used to estimate the survival probabilities.

Background: The prognostic factors for cure have been derived from cases of dermatophyte onychomycosis. However, there are limited studies in non-dermatophyte onychomycosis. Neoscytalidium dimidiatum is the common causative agents of non-dermatophyte onychomycosis which has proven to be recalcitrant to treatment.

Purpose: To determine characteristics and factors associated with no vision survival (included no light perception, enucleation, and evisceration) following open globe injury (OGI) and to correlate the proportion of final vision to predictive values of ocular trauma score (OTS).
Patients And Methods: The medical records of consecutive patients diagnosed as OGI between January 2015 and December 2020 were retrospectively reviewed. Data collected included demographics, mechanisms and modes of injuries, ophthalmic presentations, managements, and visual outcomes at the final visit.

Prolonged length of stay (LOS) in osteoporotic femoral neck fracture patients increased the hospital care cost and demonstrated in-hospital complications. This study aimed to develop an ease-of use predictive model of prolonged LOS in osteoporotic femoral neck fracture patients. In this 5-year retrospective study, the medical charts of 255 patients admitted to hospital with an osteoporotic femoral neck fracture resulting from a simple fall from January 2014 to December 2018 were reviewed.

Low blood sugar is commonly found during cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR). However, current guidelines do not mention the importance of glucose testing and acute management for hypoglycemia during CPR. We intended to investigate the association between dextrose administration and resuscitation outcomes in patients with blood sugar less than 150 mg/dL during cardiac arrest in the emergency department (ED).

Background: For active proliferative lupus nephritis (LN), intravenous cyclophosphamide (IVCYC) is a standard therapy whereby mycophenolate mofetil (MMF) is less effective than IVCYC, according to the clinical trials in non-Asians. In this observational study, the clinical outcomes will be compared among Thai patients.
Methods: We had analyzed 93 adult patients who underwent a renal biopsy for active proliferative LN confirmation between January 2013 and June 2021.
