Background: The influence of tibial slope on tibial component migration following total knee arthroplasty has not been widely studied, although excessive posterior slope has been implicated in some failures. As implant micromotion measured with radiostereometric analysis can indicate successful fixation, the purpose of this study was to determine the associations between tibial slope, tibial component migration, and inducible displacement.
Methods: Radiostereometric analyses at 6 visits over 2 years quantified implant migration for 200 cemented total knee arthroplasties.
Venetoclax is a first-in-class B-cell lymphoma-2 (BCL-2) inhibitor approved as continuous monotherapy and in combination with rituximab as fixed-treatment duration for relapsed and refractory chronic lymphocytic leukemia (R/R CLL). DEVOTE was a 24-week, multicenter observational study (NCT03310190) evaluating the safety, healthcare resource utilization (HCRU) and health-related quality of life (HRQoL) of patients initiating venetoclax for R/R CLL in Canada. Overall, 89 patients received 1 dose of venetoclax; 80% had prior exposure (42% resistant) to ibrutinib.

Background And Purpose: This updated meta-analysis evaluates the migration pattern of the tibial component of primary total knee replacements measured with radiostereometric analysis (RSA). We aimed to evaluate whether 6-month maximum total point motion (MTPM) values could be used instead of 1-year MTPM for RSA threshold testing and to present the pooled migration patterns for different implant designs that can be used as a benchmark.
Patients And Methods: The search included all published RSA studies on migration patterns of tibial components until 2023.

Chronic lymphocytic leukemia (cll) is the most common adult leukemia in North America. In 2018, the first unified national guideline in Canada was developed for the front-line treatment of cll that helped guide treatment across the country. As an update in 2022, a group of clinical experts from across Canada came together to provide input and guidance that included new and innovative treatments and approaches that will continue to provide health care professionals with clear guidance on the first-line management of cll.

Objective: To provide evidence-based recommendations on the use of vaccinations in children and adults with rheumatic and musculoskeletal diseases (RMDs).
Methods: This guideline follows American College of Rheumatology (ACR) policy guiding management of conflicts of interest and disclosures and the ACR guideline development process, which includes the Grading of Recommendations Assessment, Development and Evaluation (GRADE) methodology. It also adheres to the Appraisal of Guidelines for Research and Evaluation (AGREE) criteria.

Background: Implantable cardioverter defibrillators (ICDs) improve survival in patients at risk for cardiac arrest, but are associated with intravascular lead-related complications. The subcutaneous ICD (S-ICD), with no intravascular components, was developed to minimize lead-related complications.
Objective: To assess key ICD performance measures related to delivery of ICD therapy, including inappropriate ICD shocks (delivered in absence of life-threatening arrhythmia) and failed ICD shocks (which did not terminate ventricular arrhythmia).

Lenalidomide is an important component of initial therapy in newly diagnosed multiple myeloma, either as maintenance therapy post-autologous stem cell transplantation (ASCT) or as first-line therapy with dexamethasone for patients' ineligible for ASCT (non-ASCT). This retrospective study investigated treatment patterns and outcomes for ASCT-eligible and -ineligible patients who relapsed after lenalidomide as part of first-line therapy, based on data from the Canadian Myeloma Research Group Database for patients treated between January 2007 and April 2019. Among 256 patients who progressed on lenalidomide maintenance therapy, 28.

Background: High-viscosity (HV) bone cements have been formulated to offer potentially advantageous handling characteristics. However, alteration in the handling characteristics could influence implant fixation and survival. The primary objective of this study was to use radiostereometric analysis after total knee arthroplasty to assess the migration of the Triathlon tibial component fixed with HV cement (Simplex HV).

Purpose: The phase III COLUMBA study evaluated daratumumab (DARA) intravenous (IV) and subcutaneous (SC) in patients with relapsed or refractory multiple myeloma. Here, we report patient-reported satisfaction with therapy (SWT) in COLUMBA.
Methods: DARA IV or DARA SC was administered weekly (cycles 1-2), every 2 weeks (cycles 3-6), and every 4 weeks (cycles 7 +).

Background: The anatomic dual mobility (ADM) acetabular component was introduced because of previously described low dislocation rates for this type of construct. The shape of the anatomic cup and the motion of polyethylene liner may have implications for acetabular cup fixation and polyethylene liner wear; therefore, the purpose of this study was to assess the migration patterns and wear rates of the ADM component using radiostereometric analysis.
Methods: Uncemented ADM acetabular components were implanted in 27 patients.

Background: The long-term clinical success of cemented polished tapered femoral components has been demonstrated in prospective as well as registry studies. This stem design type has also been well studied with radiostereometric analysis (RSA) and provides a standard to evaluate alternative designs of polished tapered cemented femoral components. This prospective study evaluates the subsidence of a polished cemented stem with a modular neck design utilising RSA.

Aims: Early implant migration measured with radiostereometric analysis (RSA) has been proposed as a useful predictor of long-term fixation of tibial components in total knee arthroplasty. Evaluation of actual long-term fixation is of interest for cemented components, as well as for cementless fixation, which may offer long-term advantages once osseointegration has occurred. The objective of this study was to compare the long-term migration with one- and two-year migration to evaluate the predictive ability of short-term migration data and to compare migration and inducible displacement between cemented and cementless (porous metal monoblock) components at least ten years postoperatively.

Background and purpose - Thresholds of implant migration for predicting long-term successful fixation of tibial components in total knee arthroplasty have not separated cemented and uncemented fixation. We compared implant migration of cemented and uncemented components at 1 year and as the change in migration from 1 to 2 years. Patients and methods - Implant migration of 360 tibial components measured using radiostereometric analysis was compared at 1 year and as the change in migration from 1 to 2 years in 222 cemented components (3 implant designs) and 138 uncemented components (5 implant designs).

The purpose of the present study was to use real-world prospective data to assess the effectiveness and cost of targeted therapies for patients with mrcc.
Methods: The Canadian Kidney Cancer Information System, a pan-Canadian database, was used to identify prospectively collected data relating to patients with mrcc.

Qigong is an internal art practice with a long history in China. It is currently characterized as meditative movement (or as movement-based embodied contemplative practice), but is also considered as complementary and alternative exercise or mind-body therapy. There are now six controlled trials and nine other reports on the effects of qigong in fibromyalgia.

Rituximab is widely used for the treatment of non-Hodgkin lymphoma, being a key component in most therapeutic regimens. Administration of the intravenous (IV) formulation is lengthy and places a significant burden on health care resources and patient quality of life. A subcutaneous (sc) formulation that provides a fixed dose of rituximab is being examined in a number of studies.
