Background: To date, no intervention has definitively improved outcomes for families of critical illness survivors. An integrated perspective on caregivers' needs after critical illness could help identify high-priority intervention targets and improve outcomes.
Objectives: To obtain diverse perspectives on the needs, barriers and facilitators, and social determinants of health associated with family caregiving across the critical illness continuum and assess the extent to which successful caregiving interventions in other populations may be adapted to the critical illness context.

Hypertension is associated with increased risk of cardiovascular disease and death. Evidence suggests that Mg depletion contributes to hypertension. It is estimated that 25% or more of the United States population experiences chronic, latent Mg depletion.

Background: CD8+ tumor-infiltrating lymphocyte (TIL) predicts response to anti-PD-(L)1 therapy. However, there remains no standardized method to assess CD8+ TIL in melanoma, and developing a specific, cost-effective, reproducible, and clinically actionable biomarker to anti-PD-(L)1 remains elusive. We report on the development of automatic CD8+ TIL density quantification via whole slide image (WSI) analysis in advanced melanoma patients treated with front-line anti-PD-1 blockade, and correlation immunotherapy response.

Objective: This study aims to enhance the accessibility and quality of mobility-assistive technology by investigating and bridging knowledge gaps between mobility-assistive technology providers and consumers with ambulatory limitations.
Design: A survey was conducted among mobility-assistive technology providers in the United States, consisting of sections on awareness, knowledge importance and desire, and knowledge sources. The responses were compared to data collected from consumers in a previous study.

Objective: To determine whether adverse pregnancy outcomes are associated with a higher predicted 30-year risk of atherosclerotic cardiovascular disease (CVD; ie, coronary artery disease or stroke).
Methods: This was a secondary analysis of the prospective Nulliparous Pregnancy Outcomes Study-Monitoring Mothers-to-Be Heart Health Study longitudinal cohort. The exposures were adverse pregnancy outcomes during the first pregnancy (ie, gestational diabetes mellitus [GDM], hypertensive disorder of pregnancy, preterm birth, and small- and large-for-gestational-age [SGA, LGA] birth weight) modeled individually and secondarily as the cumulative number of adverse pregnancy outcomes (ie, none, one, two or more).
Introduction: Alzheimer's disease (AD) is a neurodegenerative disorder characterized by changes in beta amyloid (Aß) and tau as well as changes in cerebral glucose metabolism and gray matter volume. This has been categorized as three distinct stages of amyloid, tau, and neurodegeneration. Past studies have shown asymmetric Aβ accumulation and its association with asymmetric cerebral metabolism in preclinical AD.

Glycerol kinase deficiency (GKD) is a rare X-linked condition where glycerol cannot be phosphorylated to glycerol-3-phosphate, a key component of gluconeogenesis. Clinical presentation varies widely. We present a novel variant of the responsible in a patient with concurrent hepatoblastoma, whose course was complicated by hypoglycemia.

Unlike chronological age, biological age is a strong indicator of health of an individual. However, the molecular fingerprint associated with biological age is ill-defined. To define a high-resolution signature of biological age, we analyzed metabolome, circulating senescence-associated secretome (SASP)/inflammation markers and the interaction between them, from a cohort of healthy and rapid agers.

We report results of the protocol-specified final analysis of DMFS for KEYNOTE-716.

Objective: To describe and identify associated factors for patient-clinician discordance of disease assessment at biologic or Janus kinase inhibitor (JAKi) initiation and over 12 months following initiation in patients with rheumatoid arthritis (RA) from a US RA registry.
Methods: Analyses included CorEvitas RA Registry patients who initiated their first biologic or JAKi on or after February 1, 2015, and had 6- and 12-month follow-up visits. Positive discordance was defined as patient global assessment (visual analog scale [VAS-100]) minus physician's global assessment (VAS-100) equal to 30 points or more.

In the United States, annual influenza vaccination is recommended for all persons aged ≥6 months. Using data from four vaccine effectiveness (VE) networks during the 2023-24 influenza season, interim influenza VE was estimated among patients aged ≥6 months with acute respiratory illness-associated medical encounters using a test-negative case-control study design. Among children and adolescents aged 6 months-17 years, VE against influenza-associated outpatient visits ranged from 59% to 67% and against influenza-associated hospitalization ranged from 52% to 61%.

Objective: To assess dose, efficacy, and safety of epicutaneous immunotherapy with Viaskin milk in children with IgE-mediated CMA.
Design, Setting, And Participants: A phase 1/2, 2-part, randomized, double-blind, placebo-controlled dose-ranging clinical trial in children aged 2 to 17 years with IgE-mediated CMA was conducted between November 2014 through December 2017.

Objective: The purpose of this study was to further previous research and gather additional information regarding the usage of motorized shopping scooters as well as feedback for improvements to an air-powered scooter.
Methods: Online surveys were used to assess individuals' shopping characteristics and experience using the motorized scooters and to gather feedback from store employees regarding their experience. K-Means clustering analysis was used to determine user demographics who chose to use the air-powered scooter versus the electric-powered scooter while shopping.

JCO The primary joint efficacy analysis of the Anthracyclines in Early Breast Cancer (ABC) trials reported in 2017 failed to demonstrate nonanthracycline adjuvant therapy was noninferior to anthracycline-based regimens in high-risk, early breast cancer. Full analyses of the studies had proceeded when the prespecified futility boundary was crossed at a planned futility analysis for the ability to demonstrate noninferiority of a nonanthracycline regimen with continued follow-up. These results were presented with 3.

Background: Intervertebral disc degeneration (IDD) is a leading contributor to low back pain (LBP). Autophagy, strongly activated by hypoxia and nutrient starvation, is a vital intracellular quality control process that removes damaged proteins and organelles to recycle them for cellular biosynthesis and energy production. While well-established as a major driver of many age-related diseases, autophagy dysregulation or deficiency has yet been confirmed to cause IDD.

Maneuverable microswimmers/microdrones that navigate in hard-to-reach spaces inside human bodies hold a great potential for various biomedical applications. Acoustically actuated microswimmers have already demonstrated feasibility. However, for eventual translation of this technology, a robust 3-D tracking strategy for the microswimmer is particularly required.
