Objectives: The randomized controlled trial comparing digital breast tomosynthesis and synthetic 2D mammograms (DBT + SM) versus digital mammography (DM) (the To-Be 1 trial), 2016-2017, did not result in higher cancer detection for DBT + SM. We aimed to determine if negative cases prior to interval and consecutive screen-detected cancers from DBT + SM were due to interpretive error.
Methods: Five external breast radiologists performed the individual blinded review of 239 screening examinations (90 true negative, 39 false positive, 19 prior to interval cancer, and 91 prior to consecutive screen-detected cancer) and the informed consensus review of examinations prior to interval and screen-detected cancers (n = 110).

Aims: Several studies have evaluated the use of electrically- or imaging-guided left ventricular (LV) lead placement in cardiac resynchronization therapy (CRT) recipients. We aimed to assess evidence for a guided strategy that targets LV lead position to the site of latest LV activation.
Methods And Results: A systematic review and meta-analysis was performed for randomized controlled trials (RCTs) until March 2023 that evaluated electrically- or imaging-guided LV lead positioning on clinical and echocardiographic outcomes.

In spring 2020, a global SARS-Cov-2 pandemic was declared. The number of patients in need of intensive care exceeded the number of available care places at intensive care units (ICUs) and certified registered nurse anesthetists (CRNAs) were relocated to ICUs to support the care during the pandemic. The aim of this study was to illuminate the experiences of the CRNAs regarding relocation to COVID-19 intensive care.

Background: Valve surgery guidelines for infective endocarditis (IE) are unchanged over decades and nationwide data about the use of valve surgery do not exist.
Methods: We included patients with first-time IE (1999-2018) using Danish nationwide registries. Proportions of valve surgery were reported for calendar periods (1999-2003, 2004-2008, 2009-2013, 2014-2018).

Background: Inferior scapular notching is a complication unique to reverse shoulder arthroplasty. The most efficient technique to avoid inferior scapular notching has been reported to be lateralization of the glenoid offset. This study aims to compare radiological and functional outcomes of the DELTA Xtend® Reverse Shoulder System Lateralized Glenosphere Line Extension (intervention group) with the Standard DELTA Xtend® Reverse Shoulder System (control group).

Gastrointestinal stromal tumour (GIST) is the most common sarcoma and can be seen in any part of the gastrointestinal tract. The effect of tyrosine kinase inhibitors varies with mutation status in receptor tyrosine kinase KIT and in platelet-derived growth factor receptor A (). This case presents a 61-year-old man, diagnosed with an 11-cm GIST located at the stomach with a high risk of recurrence.

Background: Methotrexate is widely used in inflammatory diseases during the patients' reproductive years. The effect on male fertility and sperm DNA integrity is largely unknown. We evaluated sperm DNA integrity and basic semen parameters according to the World Health Organization (WHO) in male patients with inflammatory diseases treated with methotrexate.

Background: The classic Bernard-Soulier syndrome (BSS) is a rare inherited thrombocytopenia (IT) associated with severe thrombocytopenia, giant platelets, and bleeding tendency caused by homozygous or compound heterozygous variants in GP1BA, GP1BB, or GP9. Monoallelic BSS (mBSS) associated with mild asymptomatic macrothrombocytopenia caused by heterozygous variants in GP1BA or GP1BB may be a frequent cause of mild IT.
Objective: We aimed to examine the frequency of mBSS in a consecutive cohort of patients with IT and to characterize the geno- and phenotype of mBSS probands and their family members.

Background: Splenic abscess is a rare complication following sleeve gastrectomy.
Methods: We performed a systematic review to clarify its clinical significance, presentation, and management. PubMed, Embase, MEDLINE, Google Scholar, and the Cochrane Library were searched up to the 19th of July 2020.

Background: Glenohumeral osteoarthritis can, in the most severe cases, require surgery with insertion of a shoulder arthroplasty. A design with a stem in the humeral bone canal is currently regarded as the standard treatment option in patients who have an intact rotator cuff function, but complications related to the stem including humeral fractures can have devastating consequences. By using a stemless humeral component, stem-related complications can be reduced.

It is well-known that use of continuous systemic corticosteroids (SG) affects bone metabolism, bone mineral density (BMD), and ultimately increases the risk of osteoporosis. In patients with asthma, on the other hand, the effects of long-term high-dose inhaled corticosteroids (ICS) on BMD and risk of osteoporotic fractures is controversial. The reasons for this inconsistency could be explained by the fact that only few long-term studies investigating the effect of ICS in patients with asthma exist.

Physical exercise for patients treated with allogeneic haematopoietic stem cell transplantation (allo-HSCT) has shown positive effects on the quality of life and fatigue in experimental trials. However, there is a need for longitudinal evaluation of exercise programmes implemented in a real-world clinical setting. The aim of this prospective study was to evaluate the impact of an exercise programme introduced before allo-HSCT on physical activity and fatigue before, during and after in-patient care.

Background: With the implementation of a research project providing whole genome sequencing (WGS) to all pediatric cancer patients in Denmark (2016-2019), we sought to investigate healthcare professionals' views on WGS as it was actively being implemented in pediatric oncology.
Methods: Semistructured interviews were carried out with pediatric oncologists, clinical geneticists, and research coordinating nurses (N = 17), followed by content analysis of transcribed interviews. Interviews were supplemented by ethnographic observations on Danish pediatric oncology wards.

Background Screening that includes digital breast tomosynthesis (DBT) with two-dimensional (2D) synthetic mammography (SM) or standard 2D digital mammography (DM) results in detection of more breast cancers than does screening with DM alone. A decrease in interval breast cancer rates is anticipated but is not reported. Purpose To compare rates and characteristics of interval breast cancer in women screened with DBT and SM versus those screened with DM alone and screen-detected breast cancer at consecutive screenings with DM.

The aim of this study was to investigate if there was an association between infarct size (IS) measured by cardiac magnetic resonance (CMR) and echocardiographic global longitudinal strain (GLS) in the early stage of acute myocardial infarction in patients with preserved left ventricular ejection fraction (LVEF). Patients with ST-segment elevation myocardial infarction who underwent primary percutaneous coronary intervention were assessed with CMR and transthoracic echocardiogram within 1 week of hospital admission. Two-dimensional speckle tracking was performed using a semi-automatic algorithm (EchoPac, GE Healthcare).
