Background: Gastrointestinal stromal tumors (GISTs) are the most common mesenchymal tumors of the gastrointestinal tract. Recent advent of tyrosine kinase inhibitors (TKIs) has significantly improved the prognosis of GIST patients. However, responses to TKI therapy can vary depending on the specific gene mutation.

Purpose: To investigate the clinical value of dual-source dual-energy CT (dsDECT) quantitative parameters in evaluating hemodynamics and predicting high-risk gastroesophageal varices in cirrhotic patients.
Methods: 98 consecutive patients were collected in this prospectively study and all patients underwent an abdominal triple-phase contrasted-enhanced examination with dsDECT. Iodine concentration (IC) and normalized iodine concentration (NIC) of the liver parenchyma, spleen parenchyma and aorta at different phases were recorded, and arterial iodine fraction (AIF), iodine washout rate (IWR), and extracellular volume (ECV) were calculated.

LI-RADS Treatment Response Algorithm (TRA) version 2024 (v2024) introduced separate algorithms for detecting hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) viability after radiation and nonradiation locoregional therapies (LRT). The nonradiation algorithm incorporated MRI-based ancillary features to optionally upgrade lesions from LR-TR Equivocal to LR-TR Viable. To compare the diagnostic performance of LI-RADS Nonradiation TRA v2024 with LI-RADS TRA version 2017 (v2017) and modified RECIST (mRECIST) for evaluating HCC response to LRT on MRI, with attention to the impact of ancillary features.

Objectives: To evaluate a three-dimensional fluid-attenuated inversion recovery (3D-FLAIR) sequence using a long repetition time (TR) and constant flip angle (CFA) in differentiating between perilymph and endolymph in a phantom study, and unenhanced endolymphatic hydrops (EH) imaging in a patient study.
Methods: Three solutions in similar ion and protein concentrations with endolymph, perilymph, and cerebrospinal fluid were prepared for variable flip angle (VFA) 3D-FLAIR (TR 10,000 ms) and CFA (120°) 3D-FLAIR using different TR (10,000, 16,000, and 20,000 ms). Fifty-two patients with probable or definite Meniere's disease received unenhanced CFA (120°) 3D-FLAIR using a long TR (20,000 ms) and 4-h-delay enhanced CFA (120°) 3D-FLAIR (TR 16,000 ms).

Photocatalytic carbon dioxide (CO) reduction is an effective method for in vivo carbon monoxide (CO) generation for antibacterial use. However, the available strategies mainly focus on utilizing visible-light-responsive photocatalysts to achieve CO generation. The limited penetration capability of visible light hinders CO generation in deep-seated tissues.

Background: The clinical application of coronary MR angiography (MRA) combining diastole and systole imaging has never been described comprehensively in coronary artery disease (CAD) patients. We aimed to design an optimal non-contrast coronary MRA scan protocol combining diastolic and systolic imaging and to (1) evaluate its diagnostic performance for detecting significant coronary stenosis; (2) evaluate the feasibility of this protocol to noninvasively measure the coronary distensibility index (CDI).
Methods: From June 2021 to May 2022, 33 healthy volunteers and 91 suspected CAD patients scheduled for X-ray coronary angiography (CAG) were prospectively enrolled.

Ultrasound (US)-triggered cascade amplification of nanotherapies has attracted considerable attention as an effective strategy for cancer treatment. With the remarkable advances in materials chemistry and nanotechnology, a large number of well-designed nanosystems have emerged that incorporate presupposed cascade amplification processes and can be activated to trigger therapies such as chemotherapy, immunotherapy, and ferroptosis, under exogenous US stimulation or specific substances generated by US actuation, to maximize antitumor efficacy and minimize detrimental effects. Therefore, summarizing the corresponding nanotherapies and applications based on US-triggered cascade amplification is essential.

Carotid atherosclerotic stenosis of the carotid artery is an important cause of ischemic cerebrovascular disease. The aim of this study was to predict the presence or absence of clinical symptoms in unknown patients by studying the existence or lack of symptoms of patients with carotid atherosclerotic stenosis. First, a deep neural network prediction model based on brain MRI imaging data of patients with multiple modalities is constructed; it uses the multi-modality features extracted from the neural network as inputs and the incidence of diagnosis as output to train the model.

Sonodynamic therapy (SDT) represents a promising therapeutic modality for treating breast cancer, which relies on the generation of abundant reactive oxygen species (ROS) to induce oxidative stress damage. However, mutant breast cancers, especially triple-negative breast cancer (TNBC), have evolved to acquire specific antioxidant defense functions, significantly limiting the killing efficiency of SDT. Herein, the authors have engineered a distinct single copper atom-doped titanium dioxide (Cu/TiO ) nanosonosensitizer with highly catalytic and sonosensitive activities for synergistic chemodynamic and sonodynamic treatment of TNBC.

Bioorthogonal chemistry, referring to the rapid and selective synthesis of imaging and/or therapeutic molecules in live animals via transition metal-mediated non-natural chemical transformation without disrupting endogenous reactions, has greatly expanded the tools and techniques for biomedicine. However, owing to safety concerns associated with metal toxicity, selectivity, sensitivity and stability, efficient bioorthogonal reactions that can be reliably executed in complex biological environments remain challenging. In this study, an intelligent, versatile bioorthogonal catalyst based on ultrasmall poly(acrylic acid)-modified copper nanocomplexes (Cu@PAA NCs) to achieve high spatiotemporal catalytic efficacy is established.

Overcoming apoptosis resistance to achieve efficient breast cancer treatment remains a challenge. The precise induction of another form of programmed cell death, pyroptosis, is an excellent alternative for treating cancer. Ultrasound (US)-enhanced enzyme dynamic (enzyodynamic) therapy is developed by employing LaFeO (LFO) perovskite nanocrystals as a substrate to increase the rate of deleterious reactive oxygen species (ROS) generation for intensive cell pyroptosis.

Myocardial pathology segmentation (MyoPS) can be a prerequisite for the accurate diagnosis and treatment planning of myocardial infarction. However, achieving this segmentation is challenging, mainly due to the inadequate and indistinct information from an image. In this work, we develop an end-to-end deep neural network, referred to as MyoPS-Net, to flexibly combine five-sequence cardiac magnetic resonance (CMR) images for MyoPS.
