This study introduces a microsurgical approach, offering improved precision and reduced scarring, applied to 37 patients over six years.

Effectiveness and Safety of Adjunctive Cenobamate in People with Focal-Onset Epilepsy: Evidence from the First Interim Analysis of the BLESS Study.

Introduction: Despite new anti-seizure medications (ASMs) being introduced into clinical practice, about one-third of people with epilepsy do not reach seizure control. Cenobamate is a novel tetrazole-derived carbamate compound with a dual mechanism of action. In randomized controlled trials, adjunctive cenobamate reduced the frequency of focal seizures in people with uncontrolled epilepsy.

Lomustine with or without reirradiation for first progression of glioblastoma, LEGATO, EORTC-2227-BTG: study protocol for a randomized phase III study.

Background: Chemotherapy with lomustine is widely considered as standard treatment option for progressive glioblastoma. The value of adding radiotherapy to second-line chemotherapy is not known.

Methods: EORTC-2227-BTG (LEGATO, NCT05904119) is an investigator-initiated, pragmatic (PRECIS-2 score: 34 out of 45), randomized, multicenter phase III trial in patients with first progression of glioblastoma.

The influence of wakefulness fluctuations on brain networks involved in centrotemporal spike occurrence.

Objective: Drowsiness has been implicated in the modulation of centro-temporal spikes (CTS) in Self-limited epilepsy with Centro-Temporal Spikes (SeLECTS). Here, we explore this relationship and whether fluctuations in wakefulness influence the brain networks involved in CTS generation.

Methods: Functional MRI (fMRI) and electroencephalography (EEG) was simultaneously acquired in 25 SeLECTS.

Background: The aim of this study was to evaluate whether the sequential use of Mitomycin C (MMC) and Bacillus Calmette-Guérin (BCG) is superior to BCG alone in reducing the risk of disease recurrence in patients with non-muscle invasive bladder cancer (NMIBC) with high risk of progression.
