Article Synopsis
  • This study aimed to assess changes in tunnel diameters after anterior cruciate ligament reconstruction (ACLR) and their relationships with patient-reported outcomes (PROs) and graft maturity measured by signal-to-noise quotient (SNQ).
  • Researchers measured tunnel diameters using 3D models from CT scans and evaluated graft maturation with MRI, alongside assessing clinical outcomes through various knee evaluation scores.
  • Results showed significant initial enlargement of the femoral and tibial tunnels at 6 months, but no further increases by 1 year, and such changes in diameter did not correlate with PROs or SNQ, nor with other factors like age or BMI.

Purpose: To determine how adipose-derived stromal vascular fraction (SVF) injection following core decompression (CD) and biochemistry artificial bone graft implantation affects outcomes in patients with osteonecrosis of the femoral head (ONFH).

Methods: A total of 19 patients (28 hips) with stage I-IIIA ONFH received adipose-derived SVF injection and combined core decompression and biochemistry artificial bone graft implantation, followed up for a minimum of two years. Disease progression was evaluated according to the Association Research Circulation Osseous (ARCO) staging system, and the change of the ratio of the necrotic volume to femoral head volume was calculated with MRI before and after operation.

Background: Numerous reports confirmed the safety and clinical efficacy of autologous adipose-derived stromal vascular fractions (SVF), which have recently been used to treat osteoarthritis (OA). However, there is still no consensus as to whether SVF can promote cartilage regeneration. Herein, the purpose of our study was to evaluate the effectiveness of SVF versus hyaluronic acid (HA) in cartilage regeneration by establishing a cartilage model based on the three-dimensional fat-suppressed spoiled gradient recalled echo (3D-FS-SPGR) sequence.

Background: To assess the safety and efficacy of preoperative simulation and three-dimensional (3D) models in the treatment of ulnoradial diaphyses fracture. It was hypothesized that preoperative simulation and 3D printing might significantly shorten the mean operative time, intraoperative bleeding, and intraoperative fluoroscopy.

Material And Methods: Forty patients with forearm double fracture were divided into 3D printing group and conventional surgery group.

Background: The stromal vascular fraction (SVF) derived from adipose tissue contains heterogeneous cell populations and has enormous potential for clinical therapy. There are two main methods for SVF isolation: enzymatic isolation and mechanical isolation, both of which have shortcomings. In this study, optimized conditions for the isolation of high-quality SVF were established, and applications in fat grafting were evaluated.

Duocarmycins are a class of DNA minor-groove-binding alkylating molecules. For the past decade, various duocarmycin analogues have been used as payloads in the development of antibody-drug conjugates (ADCs). Currently, more than 15 duocarmycin-based ADCs have been studied preclinically, and some of them such as SYD985 have been granted Fast-Track Designation status.

Oncogenic mechanism-based pharmaceutical validation of therapeutics targeting MET receptor tyrosine kinase.

State Key Laboratory for Diagnosis and Treatment of Infectious Diseases, First Affiliated hospital, Zhejiang University School of Medicine, Hangzhou, China.

Aberrant expression and/or activation of the MET receptor tyrosine kinase is characterized by genomic recombination, gene amplification, activating mutation, alternative exon-splicing, increased transcription, and their different combinations. These dysregulations serve as oncogenic determinants contributing to cancerous initiation, progression, malignancy, and stemness. Moreover, integration of the MET pathway into the cellular signaling network as an addiction mechanism for survival has made this receptor an attractive pharmaceutical target for oncological intervention.

Neurofibromatosis type I is a common genetic disease that can lead to disfigurement, neurological and functional disorders. However, it is rare to meet the case which a huge mass is formed rapidly after neurofibroma ruptures. This case report describes a rare case of a 52-year-old female with a rapidly expanding mass on her back and mild anemia as the main symptoms.

Osteoarthritis (OA) is a common degenerative disease that affects the vast majority of the elderly and may eventually embark on the road of the total knee arthroplasty (TKA), although controversy still exists in the medical community about the best therapies for osteoarthritis. Compared with physical therapy, oral analgesics and other non-operative treatments, intra-articular injection is more safe and effective. Moreover, intra-articular injection is much less invasive and has fewer adverse reactions than surgical treatment.

Objective: The diagnosis of instability of the injured upper cervical spine remains controversial, due to its complicated anatomical configuration and biomechanical property. Since identifying unstable injuries of the upper cervical spine is essential for immediate stabilizing therapy, this article reviews the current classification systems of upper cervical spine injuries and their statements towards instability.

Methods: A systematic review of literature concerning upper cervical spine injuries was performed on the PubMed database from inception to December 2019.

Background: To protect the spine from secondary damage, spinal immobilization is a standard procedure in prehospital trauma management. Immobilization protocols aim to support emergency medicine personnel in quick decision making but predominantly focus on the adult spine; however, trauma mechanisms and injury patterns in adults differ from those in children and applying adult prehospital immobilization protocols to pediatric patients may be insufficient. Adequate protocols for children with spinal injuries are currently unavailable.
