Trust is foundational for all interpersonal communication and activities in an increasingly networked and interdependent world. Trust is also essential to the effective delivery of health care and for building collegial environments rich in innovation and readily adaptable to change. As the world's most trusted profession and vested peer collaborators across interprofessional health care teams, nurses are uniquely qualified to shepherd change and foster an innovation mindset across organizations and systems.

Investigation performed at Camp Pendleton, California, USA, Fort Bragg, California, USA and Naval Medical Center San Diego, San Diego, California, USA.
Background: Clinical recommendations for concussion management encourage reduced cognitive and physical activities immediately after injury, with graded increases in activity as symptoms resolve. Empirical support for the effectiveness of such recommendations is needed.
Purpose: To examine whether training medical providers on the Defense and Veterans Brain Injury Center's Progressive Return to Activity Clinical Recommendation (PRA-CR) for acute concussion improves patient outcomes.

Background: Surgical attempts at lower limb preservation after trauma may be complicated by pain and gait disturbances, which can impact the activity level of a military service member. It is unclear how later transtibial amputation (TTA) might affect patients who elect this option after attempts at limb preservation.
Questions/purposes: The purposes of the study were to compare preamputation and postamputation (1) the numeric rating scale for pain and pain medication use; (2) self-reported activity level, Four Square Step Test (FSST) results, and assistive device use; and (3) spatiotemporal variables measured with instrumented gait analysis in individuals who elected TTA after multiple attempts at limb preservation.

Objective: Infusible disease-modifying antirheumatic drugs (DMARDs) are commonly prescribed in rheumatology and other fields. There are no published formal educational curricula that rheumatology fellowship programs can use to teach infusion reaction management skills to fellows. We aimed to better understand this educational gap and implement and assess the effectiveness of an experiential curriculum on acute infusion reaction management.

Objective: To demonstrate that segmental changes along the upper extremity occur before the onset of breast cancer-related lymphedema (BCRL). These changes may be subclinical in nature and may be predictive of the onset of chronic lymphedema.
Design: A retrospective subset analysis of a larger prospective cohort trial.
Instruction in the responsible conduct of research (RCR) is required for all trainees funded by the National Institues of Health (NIH) or National Science Foundation (NSF). A recent Delphi study identified 53 key topics in 7 core areas that RCR education experts felt should be included in this instruction, which is required of many trainees in clinical and translational research. We performed a content analysis of major textbooks and online resources used in RCR instruction to determine the extent to which the 53 key topics identified in the Delphi study are covered by these resources.

Background: The epidemiologic trends of hepatitis B virus (HBV) infection in human immunodeficiency virus (HIV)-infected patients over the past 20 years are largely unknown.
Methods: Prevalence and risk factors for HBV infection overall, at the time of HIV infection, and after HIV infection were examined in an ongoing observational HIV cohort study. Risk factors for HBV infection at the time of diagnosis of HIV infection were evaluated using logistic regression, and risk of incident HBV infection after diagnosis of HIV infection was evaluated using Cox proportional hazards models.

Purpose: We prospectively evaluated the efficacy of human chorionic gonadotropin (HCG) in the treatment of undescended testis and sought to determine whether HCG assists in the differentiation of undescended testis from retractile testis.
Materials And Methods: Patients with undescended testes were offered HCG. Testis position, laterality and the presence or absence of a hypoplastic scrotum were noted.
