Epithelial-mesenchymal transition (EMT) is a program wherein epithelial cells lose their junctions and polarity while acquiring mesenchymal properties and invasive ability. Originally defined as an embryogenesis event, EMT has been recognized as a crucial process in tumor progression. During EMT, cell-cell junctions and cell-matrix attachments are disrupted, and the cytoskeleton is remodeled to enhance mobility of cells.

Objective: This study explored and analyzed the expression of LncRNA NEAT1 in peripheral blood mononuclear cells (PBMCs) of patients with systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE) and its correlation with Th1/Th2 balance.
Methods: We chose 97 SLE patients admitted in our hospital from Jun. 2016 to Feb.

Erlotinib (ERT), oral administration agents, is one of the most pivotal targeted drugs in the treatment of non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC); however, its poor solubility, low oral bioavailability, and capricious toxicity limit broader clinical applications. In this paper, a novel injectable matrix is prepared based on hollow mesoporous silica nanoparticles (HMSNs) and thermosensitive poly(d,l-lactide)-poly(ethylene glycol)-poly(d,l-lactide) (PDLLA-PEG-PDLLA, PLEL) hydrogel to encapsulate and localize the sustained release of ERT for improved efficacy against NSCLC. The test-tube-inversion method shows that this ERT-loaded hydrogel composite (ERT@HMSNs/gel) presents as an injectable flowing solution under room temperature and transfers into a physically crosslinked non-flowing gel structure at physiological temperature.

CD24, is a mucin-like GPI-anchored molecules. By immunohistochemistry, it is widely detected in many solid tumors, such as breast cancers, genital system cancers, digestive system cancers, neural system cancers and so on. The functional roles of CD24 are either fulfilled by combination with ligands or participate in signal transduction, which mediate the initiation and progression of neoplasms.

Triple negative breast cancer (TNBC) patients have a high risk of brain metastases. This deadly disease represents a major challenge for successful treatment, in part because of the poor ability of drugs to penetrate the blood-brain barrier. Antipsychotic drugs show good bioavailability in the brain, and some of them have exhibited anticancer effects in several cancer types.

Gene therapy provides a novel method for cancer therapy. This study shows a DNA nanocomplex that is inspired from vesicular stomatitis virus (VSV) for ovarian cancer therapy. This DNA nanocomplex consists of a cationized monomethoxy poly (ethylene glycol)-poly (d,l-lactide) (MPEG-PLA) nanoparticle and a plasmid encoding the matrix protein of vesicular stomatitis virus (VSVMP) that plays a critical role in the VSV-induced apoptosis of cancer cells.

The aim of this study was to evaluate the HSD17B1 gene polymorphisms in the risks of endometrial cancer, endometriosis and uterine leiomyoma by meta-analysis. A comprehensive electronic search was conducted in PubMed, Medline (Ovid), Embase, Weipu, Wanfang and CNKI. The pooled ORs were performed using the Revman 5.
