In situ polymerization strategies hold great promise for enhancing the physical interfacial stability in solid-state batteries, yet (electro)chemical degradation of polymerized interfaces, especially at high voltages, remains a critical challenge. Herein, we find interphase engineering is crucial for the polymerization process and polymer stability and pioneer an in situ polymerization-fluorination (Poly-FR) strategy to create durable interfaces with excellent physical and (electro)chemical stabilities, achieved by designing a bifunctional initiator for both polymerization and on-surface lithium donor reactions. The integrated in situ fluorination converts LiCO impurities on LiNiCoMnO (NCM811) surfaces into LiF-rich interphases, effectively inhibiting the aggressive (de)lithiation intermediates and protecting the interface from underlying chemical degradation, thereby surpassing the stability limitations of polymerization alone.

The development of acid-stable water oxidation electrocatalysts is crucial for high-performance energy conversion devices. Different from traditional nanostructuring, here we employ an innovative microwave-mediated electron-phonon coupling technique to assemble specific Ru atomic patterns (instead of random Ru-particle depositions) on MnCrO surfaces (Ru-MnCrO) in RuCl solution because hydrated Ru-ion complexes can be uniformly activated to replace some Mn sites at nearby Cr-dopants through microwave-triggered energy coherent superposition with molecular rotations and collisions. This selective rearrangement in Ru-MnCrO with particular spin-differentiated polarizations can induce localized spin domain inversion from reversed to parallel direction, which makes Ru-MnCrO demonstrate a high current density of 1.

Purpose: To describe the clinical characteristics of glaucoma-related adverse events (GRAE) after pediatric cataract surgery. More importantly, to identify the factors associated with the time of GRAE onset and the preferred anti-glaucomatous surgical procedure for this disease.
Methods: Hospitalized medical records of patients who developed GRAE, which include glaucoma and glaucoma suspect, after pediatric cataract surgery (surgical age ≤ 14 years) between 1994 and 2021 were retrospectively reviewed.

Idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis (IPF) is a progressive and fatal interstitial lung disease for which few drugs are available in clinical practice. Here, we identified novel capsaicin analogs by combining in-house chemical library screening and further structural optimization. (E)-1-(3,4-dihydroxyphenyl)-7-phenylhept-1-en-3-one (Compound 14) was found to be the most potent in inhibiting TGF-β-induced collagen accumulation, proliferation and migration in fibroblast cells.

The energy density of layered oxides of Li-ion batteries can be enhanced by inducing oxygen redox through replacing transition metal (TM) ions with Li ions in the TM layer. Undesirably, the cathodes always suffer from unfavorable structural degradation, which is closely associated with irreversible TM migration and slab gliding, resulting in continuous capacity and voltage decay. Herein, attention is paid to the Li ions in the TM layer (Li) and find their extra effects beyond inducing oxygen redox, which has been rarely mentioned.

High mobility emissive organic semiconductors (HMEOSCs) are a kind of unique semiconducting material that simultaneously integrates high charge carrier mobility and strong emission features, which are not only crucial for overcoming the performance bottlenecks of current organic optoelectronic devices but also important for constructing high-density integrated devices/circuits for potential smart display technologies and electrically pumped organic lasers. However, the development of HMEOSCs is facing great challenges due to the mutually exclusive requirements of molecular structures and packing modes between high charge carrier mobility and strong solid-state emission. Encouragingly, considerable advances on HMEOSCs have been made with continuous efforts, and the successful integration of these two properties within individual organic semiconductors currently presents a promising research direction in organic electronics.

The small GTPase Ras is among the most frequently mutated genes and its mutations often drive oncogenesis across various cancers. While the role of NRas phosphorylation at S89 in the context of a Q61R mutation in melanoma genesis remains controversial, the impact of S89 phosphorylation on NRas function has not been fully elucidated. In this study, we employed the S89D phosphorylation-mimetic mutation and demonstrated that the S89D mutation alone activated all Ras isoforms by increasing the GTP-bound population, thereby promoting ERK phosphorylation and cell proliferation.

Hedgehog (Hh) signaling is a well-established developmental pathway; it is crucial for early embryogenesis, cell differentiation, and damage-driven regeneration. It is being increasingly recognized that dysregulated Hh signaling is also involved in fibrotic diseases, which are characterized by excessive extracellular matrix deposition that compromises tissue architecture and function. This retrospective study aimed to evaluate the efficacy and safety of PBVD (pegylated liposomal doxorubicin [PLD], bleomycin, vinblastine, and dacarbazine) in the first-line treatment of classical Hodgkin lymphoma (cHL) patients with cardiovascular risk factors. Overall, 84 patients (53 had stage I-II and 31 had stage III-IV disease) received PBVD. The median PLD treatment duration was 16 weeks (interquartile range [IQR]: 8-24) for stage I-II and 24 weeks (IQR: 12-24) for stage III-IV.

The structural properties of packed soft-core particles provide a platform to understand the cross-pollinated physical concepts in solid-state and soft-matter physics. Confined on a spherical surface, the traditional differential geometry also dictates the overall defect properties in otherwise regular crystal lattices. Using molecular dynamics simulation of the Hertzian model as a tool, we report here the emergence of new types of disclination patterns: domain and counter-domain defects, when hexagonal and square patterns coexist.
