Staffing is an important indicator of nursing home quality and resident health outcomes. The Five-Star staffing ratings in Nursing Home Care Compare, the report card published by the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services, is based on average hours per resident-day and turnover measures. Studies have shown that a new measure of staffing instability, capturing day-to-day staffing variation, is associated with resident outcomes and provides additional information about quality not reflected in the current Five-Star staffing ratings.

Background: Shortly after Medicare implemented post-acute care payment reforms, the COVID-19 pandemic began, but little is known about how these reforms and the pandemic impacted admissions to the most common post-acute settings-skilled nursing facilities (SNF) and home health agencies (HHAs)-for the full Medicare fee-for-service population.

Ageing is a complex phenomenon affecting a wide range of coexisting biological processes. The homogeneity of the studied population is an essential parameter for valid interpretations of outcomes. Objective: This study aims to create and disseminate culturally and medically appropriate social media messages for Black, Latino, and American Indian or Alaska Native communities in Wisconsin and evaluate their reach and effectiveness in addressing the information needs of these communities.

Methods: Our team identified relevant COVID-19 topics based on feedback from their respective community, developed lay format materials, and translated materials into culturally appropriate social media messages that community advocates delivered across their respective communities.

Purpose: The goal of this study was to explore the complex relationship between obesity, dietary content, weight loss, and cortisol concentrations in postmenopausal women with overweight and obesity.

Methods: Women completed basal cortisol testing, a dexamethasone suppression test (DST), DXA scan, 3-hour oral glucose tolerance test (OGTT), and food records before ( = 60) and a subset after 6-months of weight loss (WL;  = 15) or aerobic exercise training+weight loss (AEX+WL,  = 34).

Results: At baseline, plasma cortisol concentrations decreased significantly after DST in the entire group, a 54% suppression which was associated with basal glucose.
