Background: Familial hypercholesterolemia (FH) is an inherited disorder mainly marked by increased low-density lipoprotein cholesterol (LDL-C) concentrations and a heightened risk of early-onset arteriosclerotic cardiovascular disease (ASCVD). This study seeks to characterize the genetic spectrum and genotype‒phenotype correlations of FH in Chinese pediatric individuals.
Methods: Data were gathered from individuals diagnosed with FH either clinically or genetically at multiple hospitals across mainland China from January 2016 to June 2024.

Background: Prisoner health is a major global concern, with prisoners often facing limited access to health care and enduring chronic diseases, infectious diseases, and poor mental health due to unsafe prison environments, unhygienic living conditions, and inadequate medical resources. In Taiwan, prison health is increasingly an issue, particularly concerning urinary diseases such as urinary tract infections. Limited access to health care and unsanitary conditions exacerbate these problems.

ZIP4, a pivotal member of the ZIP family, is the causative gene for the hereditary disorder AE (acrodermatitis enteropathica) in humans, and plays an essential role in regulating zinc ion balance within cells. While research on the molecular structure of ZIP4 continues, there remains a lack of full understanding regarding the stereo-structural conformation of ZIP4 molecules. Currently, there are two hypotheses concerning the transport of zinc ions into the cytoplasm by ZIP4, with some contradictions between experimental studies.

Objective: Lung adenocarcinoma (LUAD) represents the most prevalent subtype of lung cancer (LC), accounting for 50% of all LC cases, with its occurrence continuing to rise. Multiple pyroptotic pathway mediators are implicated in LC initiation. The study delved into the mechanism of circRPPH1 in pyroptosis in LUAD.

Background: Comprehensive treatment of breast cancer includes surgery, radiotherapy, chemotherapy, endocrine therapy, targeted therapy and immunotherapy, and the means are extremely rich. In recent years, the antibody-drug conjugates (ADCs) have become one of the significant treatment drugs for patients with human epidermal growth factor receptor 2 (HER2)-positive. ADCs provides new treatment options, and it improves outcomes and quality of life for patients with HER2-positive advanced breast cancer.

Background: Potentially modifiable cancer risk factors have been increasingly recognized among the Chinese population. In this study, we aimed to investigate the perceived significance of these risk factors among senior nursing officers, who play a crucial role in providing healthcare services. We also sought to determine senior nursing officers' performance in reducing these risk factors.

Background: The impact of remifentanil on hypogastric flap function following ischemia-reperfusion (I/R) injury remains largely unknown, limiting its potential clinical application in flap surgery. This study investigated the therapeutic effects of remifentanil on hypogastric flap I/R injury.
Methods: Aortic endothelial cells were extracted from the hypogastric flap I/R injury models established in-house using Sprague-Dawley rats, and were treated under hypoxic conditions.

Temporomandibular joint (TMJ) diseases are common clinical conditions. The number of patients with TMJ diseases is large, and the etiology, epidemiology, disease spectrum, and treatment of the disease remain controversial and unknown. To understand and master the current situation of the occurrence, development and prevention of TMJ diseases, as well as to identify the patterns in etiology, incidence, drug sensitivity, and prognosis is crucial for alleviating patients'suffering.

The importance of hemoglobin (Hgb) as a novel prognostic biomarker in predicting clinical features of cancers has been the subject of intense interest. Anemia is common in various types of cancer including breast cancer (BC) and is considered to be attributed to tumoral hypoxia. Cancer microenvironments are hypoxic compared with normal tissues, and this hypoxia is associated with Hgb concentration.

Chemotherapy resistance typically leads to tumour recurrence and is a major obstacle to cancer treatment. Increasing numbers of circular RNAs (circRNAs) have been confirmed to be abnormally expressed in various tumours, where they participate in the malignant progression of tumours, and play important roles in regulating the sensitivity of tumours to chemotherapy drugs. As exosomes mediate intercellular communication, they are rich in circRNAs and exhibit a specific RNA cargo sorting mechanism.

Studies have shown that the Mitochondrial Transcription Termination Factor 3 (MTERF3) negatively regulates mitochondrial gene expression and energy metabolism, and plays a significant role in many cancer types. Nevertheless, the expression and prognostic role of MTERF3 in patients with thyroid carcinoma (THCA) is still unclear. Thus, we investigated the expression, clinicopathological significance, and prognostic value of MTERF3 in THCA.

The overexpression of hepatic growth factor(HGF) is one of the important reasons for the development of gefitinib resistance in EGFR-sensitive mutant lung adenocarcinoma cells. Targeting the HGF receptor MET through endocytosis inhibition or degradation induction has been proposed as a potential strategy to overcome this resistance. However, the effectiveness of this approach remains needs to be evaluated.
