During the 2019 coronavirus pandemic, stay-at-home policies such as New York's (NY) NY on Pause dramatically reduced traffic congestion. Despite high traffic burden in NY's environmental justice communities, this reduction has not been evaluated through an environmental justice lens-our objective in this analysis. We obtained census tract-level traffic congestion data from Google traffic maps hourly for 2018-2020.

To investigate potential increases in exposure risks to four pagophilic ice seal species (, bearded seals; , ringed seals; , spotted seals; and , ribbon seals), this study analyzed samples from 998 seals harvested for subsistence purposes in western and northern Alaska during 2005-2019 for DA and STX. Both toxins were detected in bearded, ringed, and spotted seals, though no clinical signs of acute neurotoxicity were reported in harvested seals.

Washington was impacted both by active wildfires in the state and aged wood smoke transported from fires in Oregon and California. Although progress has been made in recreating 3D vascular structures, challenges exist in generating a mature, functional endothelium. It is demonstrated that perfusing engineered microvessels with platelet-rich plasma, a critical homeostatic component in vivo that is often overlooked in vitro, substantially transforms the endothelium, both maturing endothelial cells and improving functionality in 24 h.

Dermal contact with isocyanate-based coatings may lead to systemic respiratory sensitization. The most common isocyanates found in sprayed automotive coatings are monomeric and oligomeric 1,6-hexamethylene diisocyanate (HDI) and isophorone diisocyanate (IPDI). Most spray painters use thin (4-5 mil) latex gloves that are not effective at preventing dermal exposures when spraying isocyanate paints.
