Legible lesbian lines: The bilingual poetry of Irena Klepfisz.

This article focuses on the poetry of Jewish lesbian poet Irena Klepfisz, written in New York starting in the 1970s. While drawing on the tradition of Yiddish women's poetry from the first half of the twentieth century, both as scholar and poet, Klepfisz also creates a brand new, bilingual, Yiddish-English poetic mode. By mobilizing both Yiddish and English to voice her poetic and political concerns, Klepfisz stages the English/Yiddish encounter as a site where dominant norms in both languages can be challenged and new possibilities emerge.

ABSTRACT Appraisal of anger terms is based on past experience recollections, social norms, and gender roles. The objectives of this study were to find combinations of emotional components presented by a new composite variable that will exhibit differences between genders and differentiate between anger terms in Hebrew. Factors explaining the job satisfaction of home care workers who left their older care recipients in Israel.

There are high levels of turnover among home care workers. The study goal was to examine factors connected with job satisfaction of home care workers who resigned from their jobs. A survey (self-administered questionnaire) was conducted of 197 home care workers who resigned from their jobs with a home care agency in Jerusalem.

The contribution of parental smoking history and socio-demographic factors to the smoking behavior of Israeli women.

This study examined the interplay between sociodemographic factors and parental smoking history in shaping the smoking behavior of Israeli women (N = 302). The study was conducted in the Negev region, which is characterized by a high proportion of immigrants and high percentage of low socioeconomic and educational groups. The specific objectives of this study were to examine: (1) The prevalence and characteristics of women smokers, ex-smokers and never-smokers; and (2) the contribution of education and parent smoking history to women's current smoking.

The relational reframe and parents' problem constructions in attachment-based family therapy.

Abstract The authors studied the impact of relational reframes on parents' problem constructions and the reciprocal impact of parents' problem constructions on therapists' use of the relational reframe in five early sessions of attachment-based family therapy for depressed adolescents. Across all five sessions, relational reframes led parents to construct problems in interpersonal terms in at least two of their six subsequent speech turns. There was partial support for the hypothesis that reframes led to shifts in parents' constructions, from intrapersonal to interpersonal.
