A 66-year-old woman had two severe episodes of massive hemoptysis without any premonitory symptoms, with approximately 400-500 ml blood each time. Bronchoscopic exam revealed a smooth and pulsatile protrusion that was approximately 8-10 mm in diameter found at the beginning of the right middle lobe bronchus in the bronchial lumen. The protrusion arose from the surface with absolutely normal mucosa.

miR-532-3p is a widely documented microRNA (miRNA) involved in multifaceted processes of cancer tumorigenesis and metastasis. However, the clinical significance and biological functions of miR-532-3p in bone metastasis of prostate cancer (PCa) remain largely unknown. Herein, we report that miR-532-3p was downregulated in PCa tissues with bone metastasis, and downexpression of miR-532-3p was significantly associated with Gleason grade and serum prostate-specific antigen (PSA) levels and predicted poor bone metastasis-free survival in PCa patients.

Purpose: To explore the combined effect of recombinant human transforming growth factor-β1 (rhTGF-β1) and recombinant human platelet derived growth factor-BB (rhPDGF-BB) on the expression of Pyk2 in the osteoclasts of the pressure side of orthodontic tooth in rats.

Methods: One hundred and sixty male Sprague-Dawley rats were randomly divided into 2 groups: experimental group(A) and control group(B) to establish orthodontic tooth movement model. Rats in the experimental group received combined injection of 5 ng rhTGF-β1 and 10 ng rhPDGF-BB in the buccal submucosal area of the left upper first molar every other day, while rats in the control group received equivalent volumes of PBS.

Introduction: The objective of the study was to detect the levels of osteoprotegerin (OPG) and 25-hydroxyvitamin D [25(OH)D], as well as the expression of bone sialoprotein (BSP) mRNA, in the peripheral blood of patients with newly diagnosed type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM) under different bone mass conditions, and to explore its role and significance in the development process of T2DM combined with osteoporosis (OP).

Material And Methods: A total of 225 patients hospitalised in the Endocrinology Department and General Department from May 2017 to May 2018 were enrolled and categorised into five groups: the pure T2DM group (group A, 45 patients), the bone mass reduction group (group B, 45 patients), the T2DM + bone mass reduction group (group C, 45 patients), the OP group (group D, 45 patients), and the T2DM + OP group (group E, 45 patients); meanwhile, age-matched healthy subjects undergoing physical examination in our hospital were collected as the normal control group (group NC, 45 cases). Logistic regression analysis was used to analyse the influencing factors of bone mass in patients with T2DM.

The Aidi injection contains multiple active ingredients, including astragaloside (Re, Rb1, and Rg1), ginsenoside, cantharidin, elentheroside E, and syringin, and it is administered with vinorelbine and cisplatin (NP) to treat non-small-cell lung carcinoma (NSCLC). In this study, we performed a systematic review and meta-analysis to determine the clinical efficacy and safety of the Aidi injection with NP, and the optimal threshold and treatment regimen to produce the desired responses.
