Background: Cell-free fetal DNA (cffDNA) has opened up new approaches for non-invasive prenatal testing (NIPT), and it is often used as the second-tier test for high-risk pregnant women in detecting trisomy (T) 21, T18, and T13 after serum biochemistry screening. This study aims to discuss the clinical performance of NIPT as an alternative first-tier screening test for pregnant women in detecting T21, T18, T13, and sex chromosome aneuploidies (SCAs) in China.

Methods: A total of 42,924 samples were recruited.

A 66-year-old woman had two severe episodes of massive hemoptysis without any premonitory symptoms, with approximately 400-500 ml blood each time. Bronchoscopic exam revealed a smooth and pulsatile protrusion that was approximately 8-10 mm in diameter found at the beginning of the right middle lobe bronchus in the bronchial lumen. The protrusion arose from the surface with absolutely normal mucosa.

Methods: This multicenter cross-sectional survey began at the different institutions ranged from July to October 2017, and the duration was 12 months. A total of 90,440 eligible patients were finally enrolled from 72 medical institutions in China.

The prevalence, characteristics, and related factors of pressure injury in medical staff wearing personal protective equipment against COVID-19 in China: A multicentre cross-sectional survey.

Since December 2019, the medical staff fighting against COVID-19 frequently reported the device-related pressure injury (DRPI) caused by personal protective equipment (PPE). We conducted a cross-sectional survey online to investigate the prevalence and characteristics of DRPI among medical staff. Univariate and multivariate logistic regression analyses were employed to explore the risk factors associated with DRPI.

Objective: This study aimed to investigate the expression of collagen (types I, III, and V), heat shock protein 47 (HSP47), matrix metalloproteinase-2 (MMP-2), and tissue inhibitors of metalloproteinase-1 (TIMP-1) in the retrobulbar adipose tissues of patients with thyroid-associated orbitopathy (TAO).

Materials And Methods: The retrobulbar adipose tissues were collected from 4 TAO patients undergoing orbital decompression and 4 ocular enucleation patients with atrophic eyeball caused by ocular trauma between May 2019 and September 2019. Masson staining was performed to analyze the differences in collagen expression and degree of histologic fibrosis in each sample.

Ectopic Expression of miR-532-3p Suppresses Bone Metastasis of Prostate Cancer Cells via Inactivating NF-κB Signaling.

miR-532-3p is a widely documented microRNA (miRNA) involved in multifaceted processes of cancer tumorigenesis and metastasis. However, the clinical significance and biological functions of miR-532-3p in bone metastasis of prostate cancer (PCa) remain largely unknown. Herein, we report that miR-532-3p was downregulated in PCa tissues with bone metastasis, and downexpression of miR-532-3p was significantly associated with Gleason grade and serum prostate-specific antigen (PSA) levels and predicted poor bone metastasis-free survival in PCa patients.

[Combined effect of rhTGF-β1 and rhPDGF-BB on the expression of Pyk2 protein and mRNA gene during orthodontic tooth movement in SD rats].

Purpose: To explore the combined effect of recombinant human transforming growth factor-β1 (rhTGF-β1) and recombinant human platelet derived growth factor-BB (rhPDGF-BB) on the expression of Pyk2 in the osteoclasts of the pressure side of orthodontic tooth in rats.

Methods: One hundred and sixty male Sprague-Dawley rats were randomly divided into 2 groups: experimental group(A) and control group(B) to establish orthodontic tooth movement model. Rats in the experimental group received combined injection of 5 ng rhTGF-β1 and 10 ng rhPDGF-BB in the buccal submucosal area of the left upper first molar every other day, while rats in the control group received equivalent volumes of PBS.

Deferoxamine Treatment Combined With Sevoflurane Postconditioning Attenuates Myocardial Ischemia-Reperfusion Injury by Restoring HIF-1/BNIP3-Mediated Mitochondrial Autophagy in GK Rats.

Mitochondrial autophagy is involved in myocardial protection of sevoflurane postconditioning (SPostC) and in diabetic state this protective effect is weakened due to impaired HIF-1 signaling pathway. Previous studies have proved that deferoxamine (DFO) could activate impaired HIF-1α in diabetic state to restore the cardioprotective of sevoflurane, while the specific mechanism is unclear. This study aims to investigate whether HIF-1/BNIP3-mediated mitochondrial autophagy is involved in the restoration of sevoflurane postconditioning cardioprotection in diabetic state.

The relationship between BSP mRNA expression and 25(OH)D/OPG in peripheral blood of newly diagnosed T2DM patients with different bone mass.

Introduction: The objective of the study was to detect the levels of osteoprotegerin (OPG) and 25-hydroxyvitamin D [25(OH)D], as well as the expression of bone sialoprotein (BSP) mRNA, in the peripheral blood of patients with newly diagnosed type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM) under different bone mass conditions, and to explore its role and significance in the development process of T2DM combined with osteoporosis (OP).

Material And Methods: A total of 225 patients hospitalised in the Endocrinology Department and General Department from May 2017 to May 2018 were enrolled and categorised into five groups: the pure T2DM group (group A, 45 patients), the bone mass reduction group (group B, 45 patients), the T2DM + bone mass reduction group (group C, 45 patients), the OP group (group D, 45 patients), and the T2DM + OP group (group E, 45 patients); meanwhile, age-matched healthy subjects undergoing physical examination in our hospital were collected as the normal control group (group NC, 45 cases). Logistic regression analysis was used to analyse the influencing factors of bone mass in patients with T2DM.

Deep Convolutional Radiomic Features on Diffusion Tensor Images for Classification of Glioma Grades.

The grading of glioma has clinical significance in determining a treatment strategy and evaluating prognosis to investigate a novel set of radiomic features extracted from the fractional anisotropy (FA) and mean diffusivity (MD) maps of brain diffusion tensor imaging (DTI) sequences for computer-aided grading of gliomas. This retrospective study included 108 patients who had pathologically confirmed brain gliomas and DTI scanned during 2012-2018. This cohort included 43 low-grade gliomas (LGGs; all grade II) and 65 high-grade gliomas (HGGs; grade III or IV).

Purpose: This study aimed to observe the feasibility and safety of addition of recombinant human endostatin injection to standard chemoradiation for the locally advanced nasopharyngeal carcinoma. Current follow-up results updated long-term efficacy and late toxicity of the trial.

Methods: Between July 2012 and December 2013, we enrolled 114 patients that are older than 18 years with stage Ⅲ-Ⅳb nasopharyngeal carcinoma from 3 centers in Guizhou, China.

Comparative Study of Retroperitoneal Laparoscopic Versus Open Ipsilateral Nephrectomy After Percutaneous Nephrostomy: A Multicenter Analysis.

To investigate the feasibility of retroperitoneal laparoscopic ipsilateral nephrectomy of a benign nonfunctional kidney after percutaneous nephrostomy, and to compare this method with open surgery. Data from 70 patients who underwent simple nephrectomy from January 2014 to October 2018 at three large centers were retrospectively analyzed. All patients underwent percutaneous nephrostomy because of renal or ureteral calculi with severe hydronephrosis or pyonephrosis.

Radiomics-based prediction for tumour spread through air spaces in stage I lung adenocarcinoma using machine learning.

Objectives: As evidence has proven that sublobar resection is oncologically contraindicated by tumour spread through air spaces (STAS), its preoperative recognition is vital in customizing surgical strategies. We aimed to assess the value of radiomics in predicting STAS in stage I lung adenocarcinoma.

Methods: We retrospectively reviewed the patients with stage I lung adenocarcinoma, who accepted curative resection in our institution between January 2011 and December 2013.

Gastric tuberculosis mimicking submucosal tumor: a case series.

Background: Gastric tuberculosis mimicking submucosal tumors is extremely rare and often misdiagnosed.

Case Presentation: Three cases of gastric tuberculosis mimicking submucosal tumors were identified among patients admitted to local county hospitals because of upper abdominal discomfort and pain, with gastroscopy showing gastric submucosal tumors. The patients were admitted to our hospital for endoscopic ultrasonography (EUS).

Methicillin-resistant (MRSA) has been well-recognized as one of the most common multiresistant bacteria threatening human health. Broad-spectrum recognition of multiple MRSA strains can meet the urgent demands for efficient diagnosis and subsequent decision of relevant treatment of MRSA-induced infections. Here, recombinant cell-binding domain (CBD) and green fluorescent protein-fused CBD of MRSA bacteriophage were expressed in soluble form.

Neuronal injury is the primary cause of poor outcome after subarachnoid hemorrhage (SAH). The apolipoprotein E (APOE) gene has been suggested to be involved in the prognosis of SAH patients. However, the role of APOE in neuronal injury after SAH has not been well studied.

[Study on the influence of health belief model on the compliance of medical staff with sharp injury protection behavior].

To explore the effects of the intervention based on the theoretical framework of Health Belief Model on improving sharp injury protection behavior compliance of medical staffs, in order to provide some references for energetically developing blood-borne occupational exposure protection intervention in the region. According to the inclusion criteria, 178 medical staffs were selected, implemented intervention of the theory of health belief model. Methods included diversity training, experiencing operation, filed observation and supervision and so on, strengthened intervention after 1 month, evaluated the intervention effect after 3 months, used questionnaires and field observation to evaluate the effect before and after the intervention.

Clinical efficacy and safety of aidi injection combination with vinorelbine and cisplatin for advanced non-small-cell lung carcinoma: A systematic review and meta-analysis of 54 randomized controlled trials.

The Aidi injection contains multiple active ingredients, including astragaloside (Re, Rb1, and Rg1), ginsenoside, cantharidin, elentheroside E, and syringin, and it is administered with vinorelbine and cisplatin (NP) to treat non-small-cell lung carcinoma (NSCLC). In this study, we performed a systematic review and meta-analysis to determine the clinical efficacy and safety of the Aidi injection with NP, and the optimal threshold and treatment regimen to produce the desired responses. We collected all studies regarding the Aidi injection with NP for NSCLC from Chinese and English databases (up to April 2019).
