Background: The gonadotropin-releasing hormone antagonist (GnRH-ant) protocol is associated with few oocytes retrieved, few mature oocytes and poor endometrial receptivity. Omission of GnRH-ants on trigger day seems unlikely to induce preovulation and may improve outcomes in the GnRH-ant protocol. This study aimed to systematically evaluate the effects of GnRH-ant cessation on trigger day on in vitro fertilisation outcomes following the GnRH-ant protocol.

Background: Clear cell renal cell carcinoma (RCC) is the most common subtype of RCC. Although targeted therapy can provide superior treatment outcomes, it is prone to drug resistance, and individual responses to immunotherapy vary greatly. Therefore, finding new diagnostic and therapeutic targets for RCC is of considerable importance.

Objective: The study aimed to compare the effectiveness and safety of ultrasound-guided microwave ablation (MWA) and percutaneous sclerotherapy (PS) for the treatment of large hepatic hemangioma (LHH).

Methods: This retrospective study included 96 patients who underwent MWA ( = 54) and PS ( = 42) as first-line treatment for LHH in three tertiary hospitals from January 2016 to December 2021. Primary outcomes were technique efficacy rate (volume reduction rate [VRR] > 50% at 12 months), symptom relief rate at 12 months and local tumor progression (LTP).

Objectives: To assess the safety and efficacy of ultrasound-guided thermal ablation for low-risk papillary thyroid microcarcinoma (PTMC) via a prospective multicenter study.

Methods: From January 2017 through June 2021, low-risk PTMC patients were screened. The management details of active surveillance (AS), surgery, and thermal ablation were discussed.

Introduction: Dienogest (DNG) was demonstrated to be comparable to gonadotropin-releasing hormone agonist (GnRH-a) in controlling symptoms of endometriosis. GnRH-a is used before in vitro fertilization (IVF) in women with endometriosis to improve pregnancy outcomes. We aimed to determine the effect of DNG pretreatment on IVF outcomes, including number of mature oocytes, rate of clinical pregnancies, and rate of live births in women with endometriosis.

Purpose: Gonadotropin-releasing hormone agonist (GnRHa) before artificial cycle (AC) is expected to improve pregnancy outcomes in frozen-thawed embryo transfer (FET). Many studies have explored the impact of GnRHa pretreatment of AC in FET, but the results were inconsistent. This meta-analysis was performed to systematically evaluate the effect of GnRHa pretreatment on AC in FET.

Article Synopsis
  • Scientists discovered that a specific mutation in a gene called BRAF helps brain cancer cells grow and spread.
  • They found that another protein, NHE1, acts like a helper for BRAF and plays a big role in how fast these cancer cells grow and invade other areas.
  • By using a mix of drugs that target both BRAF and NHE1, they realized it worked better than using just one drug alone, showing promise for treating this kind of brain cancer.

Aim: A high cholesterol diet (HCD) is known to cause metabolic dysregulation, oxidative stress, cardiovascular diseases and atherogenesis. Zingerone is a pharmacologically active component of dry ginger. Zingerone has been shown to have a wide range of pharmacological properties, including scavenging free radicals, high antioxidant activity, suppressing lipid peroxidation and anti-inflammatory.

Acute kidney injury (AKI) is a recently observed side effect in patients after microwave ablation (MWA) of hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) and is associated with negative outcomes. The aim of this study is to explore the risk factors of affecting the occurrence of AKI (stages 1b, 2, and 3), because they have a higher mortality rate than patients with AKI (stage 1a) and without AKI. In this retrospective study, a total of 1,214 patients with HCC who were treated with MWA under ultrasound (US) guidance in our department between January 2005 and November 2017 were enrolled.

Aim: This study aimed to investigate the predictive power of the combination of Systemic Immune-Inflammation Index (SII) and albumin-bilirubin (ALBI) grade in prognosis outcomes of early-stage hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) after thermal ablation.

Materials And Methods: This retrospective study was reviewed and approved by our institutional review board, and written informed consent was obtained from each patient. According to the Milan criteria, a total of 405 treatment-naïve patients with clinicopathologically confirmed HCC were enrolled who subsequently underwent thermal ablation from 2011 to 2016.

Williams syndrome transcription factor (WSTF) is a transcription factor and tyrosine kinase. WSTF overexpression promotes migration and proliferation of various cancers, and Ser158 (WSTF) phosphorylation plays an important role in this process. However, the role of the other posttranslational modifications of WSTF is unknown.

Objective: To report the technical notes and clinical outcome of percutaneous isthmus foraminoplasty and full-endoscopic lumbar discectomy (PIF-FELD) for the treatment of very highly upmigrated lumbar disc herniation (VHUM-LDH).

Patients And Methods: From January 2014 to December 2017, 16 patients with VHUM-LDH underwent PIF-FELD surgery. A 10-mm-diameter semi-open foraminoplasty was performed on the dorsal side of the upper intervertebral foramen with lateral isthmus resection by a safe trephine system, in which the facet joint was not injured.

The purpose of the present study was to screen for differentially expressed proteins in the cerebrospinal fluid (CSF) of patients with Guillain-Barré syndrome (GBS). The identification of differentially expressed protein can provide new targets for understanding the pathogenic mechanism, early clinical diagnosis, prognosis and for measuring the effectiveness of interventions. We enrolled 50 GBS patients and 50 meningitis patients (control group) to compare protein expression in CSF.

() is expressed in numerous human tissues and serves a pivotal role in cell proliferation. However, Mfn2 is considered as an anti-tumor gene, and is silenced in human malignant tumors, including those of breast cancer. However, the mechanisms contributing to silencing and the mechanism of its anti-tumor function in breast cancer remain unclear.
