The treatment efficacy of 7.5% dapsone gel in papulopustular rosacea: a prospective study.

Introduction: Topical dapsone has a level A recommendation for the treatment of papulopustular rosacea; however, its treatment efficacy has not been studied previously. The aim of this study is to evaluate the safety and efficacy of topical 7.5% dapsone gel applied once daily at night in the treatment of papulopustular rosacea.

A cross sectional study evaluating the relationship of acne to androgenetic alopecia subtype and severity.

The circulating androgens have a role in the pathogenesis of both acne vulgaris and androgenetic alopecia; an association between these two have been found previously. The aim of this study is to investigate the relationship of the severity of acne vulgaris lesions to the subtype of AGA; and to validate the relationship between severities of acne vulgaris and AGA. This study was conducted cross-sectionally at five different dermatology clinics.

The Difference Between SARS-CoV-2 Associated Telogen Effluvium and Telogen Effluvium Due to Other Causes.

Introduction: Telogen effluvium (TE) is a common type of non-cicatricial alopecia, and it is reported frequently in patients with SARS-CoV-2 infection.

Objectives: Herein, we aimed to examine the demographic, dermoscopic, and laboratory features of the patients with SARS-CoV-2 associated TE (CATE) and compare them with TE due to other causes (TEDOC) according to these features.

Methods: In this retrospective case-control study we evaluated the patients who were diagnosed with TE and were above 18 years of age between April and June 2022.

Evaluation of Depression, Self-esteem, Anxiety, and Dermatological Quality of Life Index in Adolescent Acne Patients: A Case-Control Study.

Objectives: Acne vulgaris is a common skin condition that affects adolescents and can have a significant impact on their mental health. In this study, we aimed to evaluate the depression and anxiety symptoms, self-esteem and dermatological quality of life indexes of adolescent patients with acne vulgaris.

Methods: A total of 160 patients aged between 10 and 19 years with acne vulgaris and 100 healthy controls were included in the study.

Real-world data on the efficacy and safety of trastuzumab emtansine in patients with metastatic breast cancer previously treated with pertuzumab: Turkish oncology group multicenter study.

We aimed to evaluate the efficacy and safety of trastuzumab emtansine in patients with metastatic breast cancer previously treated with pertuzumab plus trastuzumab and taxane. We reviewed the medical records of patients who were diagnosed with Human Epidermal Growth Factor Receptor 2 (HER-2) positive metastatic breast cancer and received pertuzumab and then TDM-1 between January 2014 and January 2021 from twenty- five cancer centers. The Kaplan- Meier method estimated progression-free survival (PFS) and overall survival (OS).

Extradural giant thoracic schwannoma in a pediatric patient; a case report.

Introduction: Giant extradural thoracic schwannomas are very rare tumors in the pediatric age group and often occur together with neurofibromatosis. Giant schwannomas span across more than two vertebral segments and have an extraspinal extension of over 2.5 cm.

Disseminated Tuberculosis: A 6-year Case Series Experience in a Tertiary Care Center.

Background: Disseminated tuberculosis (dTB) disease is associated with a significant burden of morbidity and mortality and it requires improved awareness among clinicians. Case reports revealing the clinical and microbiological characteristics of dTB patients will help us to extend our knowledge of dTB. In our study, we have documented dTB cases followed for 6 years and revealed patients' clinical characteristics.

Surgical Delay Increases the Perioperative Blood Transfusion Rate In Percutaneous Nephrolithotomy.

Objectives: We aimed to investigate the effect of prolonged time from diagnosis to treatment (TDT) on surgical outcomes in patients undergoing percutaneous nephrolithotomy (PNL).

Methods: This study included a total of 544 patients who underwent PNL in our clinic between November 2017 and November 2021. Clinicodemographical, radiological, and perioperative data of the patients were recorded.

Penetrating Keratoplasty in Congenital Glaucoma.

Background: Childhood glaucoma is one of the most common causes of corneal opacity in childhood and is associated with various pathological corneal changes, including corneal enlargement, corneal clouding, and edema. Congenital glaucoma (CG) may cause a decrease in vision outcomes due to corneal opacity or clouding, which is often associated with stimulus deprivation amblyopia. Therefore, to create a balance between preventing amblyopia and sustaining corneal clearance, patients with CG can be managed with early penetrating corneal transplantation surgery along with advanced glaucoma management.

Comparison of second-line treatments in metastatic renal cell carcinoma patients: A single-center experience.

Renal cell carcinoma is the 10th most common type of cancer, accounting for 3.7% of all cancers. Our study examines patients with metastatic renal cell carcinoma who received Axitinib or Nivolumab as second-line treatment.

PROPSEA, safety evaluation of palbociclib and ribociclib in older patients with breast cancer: A prospective real-world TOG study.

Introduction: In this study, the toxicities and management of palbociclib and ribociclib in older patients (≥65 years) with metastatic breast cancer patients were investigated.

Materials And Methods: Among older patients receiving palbociclib and ribociclib, Geriatric 8 (G8) and Groningen Frailty Index were used to evaluate frailty status. Dose modifications, drug withdrawal and other serious adverse events (SAEs) were recorded and analyzed according to baseline patient characteristics.

The use of bevacizumab in primary malignant tumors of the central nervous system: A single-center experience.

Primary central nervous system tumors rank 8 among other cancers in patients over 40 years of age. Glioblastoma is the most common primary central nervous system malignancy, accounting for 48 percent of the cases. The present study evaluates the effect of bevacizumab on the disease course in patients who received bevacizumab therapy due to primary central nervous system tumors in our clinic.

Skeletal Side Effects of Systemic Isotretinoin Treatment: Do They Depend on Age, Gender, Treatment Duration, Daily Dose and Isotretinoin-Naiveness?

Introduction: Systemic isotretinoin is the most effective treatment modality in acne vulgaris; however, both patients and physicians hesitate to use it due its side effects.

Objectives: The aim of this study is to determine the prevalence of fatigue, myalgia and low back pain during systemic isotretinoin treatment; and to determine their relationship with age, gender, treatment duration, daily isotretinoin dose and isotretinoin-naiveness of the patient.

Methods: This is a cross sectional study including the acne vulgaris patients, aged between 13 to 40 years, who have at least received one month of oral isotretinoin treatment.

Hematological Incidies May Predict Oxidative Stress in Patients with ST-segment Elevation Myocardial Infarction.

Objective: Oxidative stress is closely related to the development of atherosclerosis and acute coronary syndromes. In this study, we aimed to examine the relationship between hemogram indices and oxidative stress parameters in patients with ST-segment elevation myocardial infarction.

Clinical course and features of soft tissue sarcomas in geriatric patients: a single-center experience.

Illness perception is defined as a cognitive aspect of illness. Pulmonary Embolism Severity Index Predicts Adverse Events in Hospitalized COVID-19 Patients: A Retrospective Observational Study.

Objectives: Pulmonary embolism is one of the leading causes of death in patients with COVID-19. Autopsy findings showed that the incidence of thromboembolic events was higher than clinically suspected. In this study, the authors investigated the relationship between pulmonary embolism severity index (PESI) and simplified PESI (sPESI) on admission to the hospital, as well as adverse events in hospitalized COVID-19 patients without clinically documented venous and/or pulmonary embolism.

Acute Coronary Syndrome After Whole-Body Electrical Myostimulation.

Whole body electrical myostimulation (WB-EMS) is an alternative exercise training method. The effects of this exercise program on hemodynamics and coronary circulation have recently been investigated. However acute coronary syndrome associated with WB-EMS has not been reported before.

The Clinical Frailty Scale as a triage tool for ICU admission of dialysis patients with COVID-19: an ERACODA analysis.

Background: Several guidelines recommend using the Clinical Frailty Scale (CFS) for triage of critically ill coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) patients. This study evaluates the impact of CFS on intensive care unit (ICU) admission rate and hospital and ICU mortality rates in hospitalized dialysis patients with COVID-19.
