A single-blind, randomized controlled trial comparing oxycodone and fentanyl for patient-controlled intravenous analgesia (PCIA) after laparoscopic hysteromyomectomy found comparable pain relief between the two groups. The study included 60 participants, with NRS scores for pain at rest and when moving showing no significant differences between oxycodone and fentanyl groups at various time points postoperatively. Self-rating depression scale scores were also similar between the groups at 48 h.

Here, we characterized the upregulation of PP4 core component SMEK1 in ccRCC using tissue microarrays and revealed that its high expression is closely associated with reduced patient survival.

This review identified significant risk factors for agricultural injuries in farmers and explored injury prevention countermeasures based on the literature. The anticancer therapeutic potential of pyrimidine-sulfonamide hybrids.

Cancer as a devastating malignancy, seriously threatens human life and health, but most chemotherapeutics have long been criticized for unsatisfactory therapeutic efficacy due to drug resistance and severe off-target toxicity. Pyrimidines, including fused pyrimidines, are privileged scaffolds for various biological cancer targets and are the most important class of metalloenzyme carbonic anhydrase inhibitors. Pyrimidine-sulfonamide hybrids can act on different targets in cancer cells simultaneously and possess potent activity against various cancers, revealing that hybridization of pyrimidine with sulfonamide is a promising approach to generate novel effective anticancer candidates.

Effect of Butylphthalide soft capsules on cognitive function and dementia-related factors in elderly patients with Parkinson's disease dementia during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Objective: To observe the effect of Butylphthalide soft capsules on improving cognitive function, activity of daily living, and dementia-related factors of elderly patients with Parkinson's disease dementia (PDD) during the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) pandemic.

Methods: The clinical data of 126 elderly patients with PDD admitted to the Second Affiliated Hospital of Zhengzhou University during the COVID-19 pandemic were analyzed retrospectively. Patients were assigned to a control group (conventional clinical treatment, n=50) and a research group (conventional clinical treatment combined with Butylphthalide soft capsules, n=76).

Intravenous metastasis of unexpected uterine sarcoma in the context of uterine fibroids: case report and literature review.

Objective: Endometrial stromal tumors are rare and complex mesenchymal tumors that often present with clinical symptoms similar to uterine leiomyomas. Due to their atypical nature, they are prone to be misdiagnosed or overlooked by healthcare professionals. This study presents a case report of an incidentally discovered endometrial stromal sarcoma with venous metastasis, which was initially misdiagnosed as a uterine leiomyoma.

Efficacy of concurrent chemoradiotherapy with thalidomide and S-1 for esophageal carcinoma and its influence on serum tumor markers.

Background: Although the current conventional treatment strategies for esophageal carcinoma (EC) have been proven effective, they are often accompanied by serious adverse events. Therefore, it is still necessary to continue to explore new therapeutic strategies for EC to improve the clinical outcome of patients.

Aim: To elucidate the clinical efficacy of concurrent chemoradiotherapy (CCRT) with thalidomide (THAL) and S-1 (tegafur, gimeracil, and oteracil potassium capsules) in the treatment of EC as well as its influence on serum tumor markers (STMs).

Naturally occurring indole alkaloids are ubiquitously present in nature and possess extensive biological properties and structural diversity. Mechanistically, naturally occurring indole alkaloids have the potential to inhibit cancer cell proliferation, arrest cell cycle and induce apoptosis. Accordingly, naturally occurring indole alkaloids exhibit promising activity against both drug-sensitive and drug-resistant cancers including multidrug-resistant forms.
