Non-small-cell lung cancer (NSCLC) stands as a primary contributor to cancer-related deaths worldwide. It has been demonstrated that Lycorine (LYD), a naturally occurring active sesquiterpene present in Chinese medicinal plants, exhibits anti-cancer properties across various cancer cell lines. However, the underlying mechanisms of LYD-induced anti-tumor in NSCLC are not fully known.

Purpose: This study compared the efficacy and safety of carboplatin combined with arsenic trioxide versus carboplatin combined with docetaxel in treating locally advanced cervical cancer (LACC).
Methods: A total of 48 patients were enrolled between January 2019 and December 2022 and randomly assigned to the experimental group (carboplatin + arsenic trioxide, = 24) or control group (carboplatin + docetaxel, = 24). The clinical efficacy, adverse reactions, and serological markers were analyzed.

Understanding the mechanisms behind MYC-driven oncogenic transformation could pave the way for identifying novel drug targets. This study explored the role of CREPT in MYC-induced malignancy by generating MYC-transformed mouse embryonic fibroblasts (MEFs) with conditional CREPT deletion. Our results demonstrated that the loss of CREPT significantly impaired MYC-induced colony formation and cell proliferation, indicating that CREPT is essential for the malignant transformation of MEFs.

Adjacent segment disease (ASD) is a significant clinical complication following cervical and lumbar spinal fusion surgery, characterized by the degeneration of spinal segments adjacent to the fused area. The present literature review aimed to elucidate the risk factors contributing to ASD and to evaluate current and emerging treatment strategies. Epidemiological data indicate that patient‑related factors such as age, pre‑existing spinal degeneration and comorbidities, along with surgical factors including the type of fusion, instrumentation and alignment correction, play pivotal roles in ASD development.

Background: As a novel immunomodulator, spleen aminopeptides (FUKETUO) can correct the imbalance of immune cells and elevate their functions. Spleen aminopeptides have been used in the treatment of respiratory diseases. However, the regulatory mechanism of it on allergic asthma and desensitization has not been reported, further study is critically needed.

Background: Pleckstrin homology containing family A, number 4 (PLEKHA4) plays a role in a number of biological processes in human cells, including cell polarization, growth, and proliferation. However, the relationship between PLEKHA4 expression and survival in breast cancer (BC) remains unclear. The aim of this study is to investigate the potential of PLEKHA4 as a prognostic indicator in BC.

Aims: This study addresses the essential need for updated information on the burden of lip and oral cavity cancer (LOC) in China for informed healthcare planning. We aim to estimate the temporal trends and the attributable burdens of selected risk factors of LOC in China (1990-2021), and to predict the possible trends (2022-2031).
Subject And Methods: Analysis was conducted using data from the Global Burden of Disease study (GBD) 2021, encompassing six key metrics: incidence, mortality, prevalence, disability-adjusted life years (DALYs), years lived with disability (YLDs), and years of life lost (YLLs).

This study explored the roles of methionine adenosyltransferase 2A (MAT2A) and tripartite motif containing 25 (TRIM25) in the progression of thoracic aortic aneurysm (TAA). The TAA model was established based on the β-aminopropionitrile method. The effects of MAT2A on thoracic aortic lesions and molecular levels were analyzed by several pathological staining assays (hematoxylin-eosin, Verhoeff-Van Gieson, TUNEL) and molecular biology experiments (qRT-PCR, Western blot).

Ethnopharmacological Relevance: Jiawei-Xiaoyao Pill (JWX), a classic formula in traditional Chinese medicine, is derived from Xiaoyao Pill by adding significant amounts of Gardeniae Fructus (GF) and Moutan Cortex (MC). It is frequently used for the treatment of depression. JWX has been demonstrated to uniquely elicit rapid antidepressant-like effects within the prescribed dosage range.
