Small-intestinal duplication is a rare congenital developmental anomaly that is mainly single; multiple small-intestinal duplications are rare. Most malformations are located in the ileocecal region. The primary surgical treatment is complete resection of the malformations and adjacent intestinal ducts.

Quercetin liposomes ameliorate streptozotocin-induced diabetic nephropathy in diabetic rats.

The effects of quercetin liposomes (Q-PEGL) on streptozotocin (STZ)-induced diabetic nephropathy (DN) was investigated in rats. Male Sprague Dawley rats were used to establish a STZ induced DN model. DN rats randomly received one of the following treatments for 8 weeks: blank treatment (DN), free quercetin (Que), pegylated liposomes (PEGL) and pegylated quercetin liposomes (Q-PEGL).

The significance of combined detection of CysC, urinary mAlb and β-MG in diagnosis of the early renal injury in pregnancy-induced hypertension syndrome.

Objective: To elaborate the significance of combined detection of cystatin C, urinary micro-albumin (mAlb) and β-microglobulin (β-MG) in diagnosis of the early renal injury in pregnancy-induced hypertension syndrome.

Methods: A total of 120 patients with pregnancy-induced hypertension syndrome who were admitted to this hospital for treatment between November 2015 and October 2018 were enrolled as subjects, and divided into the control group (without complication of renal injury, n = 76) and the observation group (with complication of renal injury, n = 44) according to the complications of early renal injury. Furthermore, 60 patients who participated in the antenatal care in this hospital were enrolled as the normal subjects (normal group).

Paeonol extracted from the Moutan Cortex, possesses hepatoprotective activity against epirubicin (EPI)-induced liver damage. This study evaluated the protective effect of paeonol on EPI-induced hepatotoxicity and explored the underlying metabolomic mechanism. Breast tumor-bearing mice were randomly divided into three groups: control, EPI, and EPI + paeonol treatment.

Protective effects of quercetin against inflammation and oxidative stress in a rabbit model of knee osteoarthritis.

Forty-eight New Zealand White rabbits were used to establish OA model by Hulth modified method, and subsequently randomized into untreated OA group (treatment was drinking water), celecoxib treated group (celecoxib 100 mg kg by gavage), and quercetin treated group (25 mg kg by gavage). Sixteen nonoperated rabbits served as the normal controls (drinking water was given).

Reduced mA mRNA methylation is correlated with the progression of human cervical cancer.

The mA mRNA methylation involves in mRNA splicing, degradation and translation. Recent studies have revealed that reduced mA mRNA methylation might promote cancer development. However, the role of mA mRNA methylation in cervical cancer development remains unknown.

[Analysis of urine screening results for school-age children in Zhucheng City of Shandong Province of China in 2013].

Objective: To study the significance of urine screening for school-age children by analyzing urine screening results of school-age children from Zhucheng City, Shandong Province, China, in 2013.

Methods: A total of 37 344 school-age children were randomly selected from children 6 to 12 years of age in Zhucheng City. Morning urine was tested by routine screening test, and the children who tested positive were re-tested after two weeks.
