The corpus callosum (CC) is the largest white matter fiber bundle connecting the two hemispheres, facilitating interhemispheric integration and hemispheric specialization. Neuroimaging studies have identified the CC as a marker for aging and various neuropsychiatric disorders. However, studies focusing on high-resolution imaging and detailed lifespan characterizations of CC morphology and connectivity are still limited, highlighting the need for further investigation.

Coronary artery disease (CAD) remains a leading cause of morbidity and mortality worldwide, particularly among complex high-risk and indicated patients (CHIP). Revascularization is often beneficial for these patients; however, it requires thorough risk stratification and close multidisciplinary collaboration between cardiologists and cardiac surgeons to optimize outcomes. Personalized treatment plans, including percutaneous coronary intervention (PCI) or coronary artery bypass grafting (CABG), are crucial in this context.

Background & Aims: Hepatic immune imbalance is crucial for driving metabolic dysfunction-associated steatotic liver disease (MASLD) progression. However, the role of hepatic regulatory T cells (Tregs) in MASLD initiation and the mechanisms responsible for their change are not completely understood.
Methods: A mouse model subjected to a short-term high-fat diet (HFD) to mimic early steatosis, along with liver biopsy samples from patients with simple steatosis, and macrophage-specific Notch1-knockout mice (Notch1), were used to investigate the role of Tregs in early MASLD and the effect of hepatic macrophage Notch1 signaling on Treg frequency.

Offspring of women with gestational diabetes mellitus (GDM) face an increased risk of long-term neurodevelopmental abnormalities. This study explores the altered expression of key placental fatty acid transport proteins-FATP2, FATP4, FATP6, FABP4, and FAT/CD36-in GDM patients, and the potential of docosahexaenoic acid (DHA) to mitigate neurodevelopmental risks in offspring by enhancing their expression through activation of peroxisome proliferator-activated receptor γ (PPAR-γ). Our findings demonstrate that placental FATP4 expression is reduced in GDM patients.

Background: Hypothermic machine perfusion (HMP) is becoming the main preservation method for donation after circulatory death (DCD) kidneys. It can provide continuous flow and form shear stress (SS) upon endothelial cells (ECs), thereby regulating EC injury. Krüppel-like factor 10 (KLF10) has been shown to lessen vascular damage.

Purpose: Fetal nucleated red blood cells (fNRBCs) in the peripheral blood of pregnant women contain comprehensive fetal genetic information, making them an ideal target for non-invasive prenatal diagnosis (NIPD). However, challenges in identifying, enriching, and detecting fNRBCs limit their diagnostic potential.
Methods: To overcome these obstacles, we developed a novel biomimetic chip, replicating the micro-nano structure of red rose petals on polydimethylsiloxane (PDMS).

Background: Peritoneal dissemination of ovarian cancer (OvCa) can be largely attributed to the formation of a metastatic microenvironment driven by tumoral exosomes. Here, we aimed to elucidate the mechanisms through which exosomal annexin A2 (ANXA2) derived from OvCa cells induces an HPMC phenotypic shift in favour of peritoneal metastasis.
Methods: Immunohistochemistry and orthotopic and intraperitoneal OvCa xenograft mouse models were used to clarify the relationship between tumour ANXA2 expression and peritoneal metastasis.

Lipid rafts are highly heterogeneous and dynamic microdomains involved in molecule trafficking and signaling transduction. This study investigates the role of lipid rafts in gastric cancer and their key regulators. Analyzing FFPE samples from 111 gastric cancer patients, we found that high lipid raft levels predict poor prognosis.

The emergence of treatment approaches that integrate conventional phototherapy with additional adjuvant treatments has garnered considerable interest. In this study, we proposed a complex utilizing Fe and polydopamine as a carrier, co-loaded with the nitric oxide initiator L-arginine (L-Arg) and the photosensitizer indocyanine green (ICG), as a potential strategy for the "photothermal/photodynamic/Chemodynamic/nitric oxide gas therapy" of osteosarcoma. Nanoparticles have the ability to undergo degradation within the mildly acidic conditions present in the tumor microenvironment.

In practical clinical scenarios, improved diagnostic methods have been developed for the precise visualization of molecular targets using molecular imaging in brain diseases. Recently, the introduction of innovative molecular imaging modalities across both macroscopic and mesoscopic dimensions, with remarkable specificity and spatial resolution, has expanded the scope of applications beyond diagnostic testing, with the potential to guide therapeutic interventions, offering real-time feedback in the context of brain therapy. The molecular imaging-guided integration of diagnosis and treatment holds the potential to revolutionize disease management by enabling the real-time monitoring of treatment responses and therapy adjustments.

Background: Fear of pain (FOP) and fear avoidance belief (FAB), play a crucial role in the occurrence and development of chronic pain. However, the dynamics of these factors in post-surgical pain appear to differ, with FOP often learned from others rather than directly caused by painful experiences. Psychological resilience refers to an individual's capacity to adapt effectively to adversity, challenges, and threats, and may play a significant role in overcoming FOP and avoidance behavior.

Pancreatic cancer is characterized by severe metabolic stress due to its prominent desmoplasia and poor vascularization. Integrin subunit alpha 3 (ITGA3) is a cell surface adhesion protein involved in tumor progression. However, the role of ITGA3 in pancreatic cancer progression, especially in metabolic reprogramming, remains largely unknown.

A ratiometric fluorescence-photothermal dual-mode assay method is constructed for the detection of butyrylcholinesterase (BChE) activity based on time-resolved levodopa (L-DOPA) cascade polymerization. First, a newly designed bimetallic metal-organic framework (MOF), Eu/Co-DPA (DPA: pyridine-2,6-dicarboxylic acid), is screened out as a fluorescent nanozyme with high catalytic activity and superior luminescence properties. In the presence of boric acid (BA), L-DOPA forms BA-esterified L-DOPA, which is catalyzed by Eu/Co-DPA to form the oligomers with strong blue fluorescence.

Background: Trigeminal neuralgia (TN) is defined as spontaneous pain in the region of the trigeminal nerve that seriously affects a patient's quality of life. Percutaneous balloon compression of the trigeminal ganglion is a simple and reproducible surgical procedure that reduces the incidence of TN, but the postoperative outcome is poor in some patients, with it being ineffective or TN recurring.
Objectives: To establish a machine learning-based clinical imaging nomogram to predict the recurrence of trigeminal neuralgia in patients treated with percutaneous balloon compression.
