School of Chemical Engineering, National Center for Research and Popularization on Calcium, Magnesium, Phosphate & Compound Fertilizer Technology, Zhengzhou University, Zhengzhou 450001, China.

Biochemical fulvic acid (BFA), produced by organic wastes composting, is the complex organic matter with various functional groups. A novel modified biochemical fulvic acid (MBFA) which possessed stronger chelating ability had been synthesized by the grafting copolymerization of BFA and acrylic acid (AA). Results showed that MBFA effectively inhibited the crystallization of calcium phosphate and increased the concentration of phosphate in water solution.

Based on the characteristics of optical absorption gas sensing technology (OA-GST) and spatial heterodyne spectroscopy (SHS), a novel type of visual gas sensing technology (V-GST) can present the invisible gas information in the form of two-dimensional visual fingerprint, which has attracted people's attention. In this paper, we have realized the NO detection of V-GST in the laboratory environment for the first time. Experimental results show that: V-GST not only has different interferogram response to different spectra, but also has good response to different concentrations of NO, which lays a foundation for the application of this technology in gas sensing.

The outbreak of the COVID-19 epidemic has triggered adiscussion of the relationship between urbanization and the spread of infectious diseases. Namely, whether urbanization will exacerbate the spread of infectious diseases. Based on 31 provincial data from 2002 to 2018 in China, the impact of urbanization on the spread of infectious diseases from the dimensions of "population" and "land" is analyzed in this paper by using the GMM (generalized method of moments) model.

Although risk decision-making plays an important role in leadership practice, the distinction in behavior between humans with differing levels of leadership, as well as the underlying neurocognitive mechanisms involved, remain unclear. In this study, the Ultimatum Game (UG) was utilized in concert with electroencephalograms (EEG) to investigate the temporal course of cognitive and emotional processes involved in economic decision-making between high and low leadership level college students. Behavioral results from this study found that the acceptance rates in an economic transaction, when the partner was a computer under unfair/sub unfair condition, were significantly higher than in transactions with real human partners for the low leadership group, while there was no significant difference in acceptance rates for the high leadership group.

Improving the logistics ecological efficiency (LEE) has become a significant part of ensuring a sustainable development and tackling environmental pollution. Previous studies in the logistics industry seldom considered air pollutants and the association of spatial information. Therefore, innovatively considering SO, NO, and PM, this study adopted the super-SBM-undesirable model to calculate the LEE of 30 provinces in China from 2005 to 2019 and, thereafter, developed information-based matrix to explore its influencing factors by using the spatial Dubin model.

Steel fiber reinforced concrete (SFRC) is a novel material of concrete, which has a great potential to be used in practical engineering. Based on the finite element software Opensees, the main objective of this paper presented a numerical simulation method on investigating the seismic behavior of SFRC-beam-column joints (BCJs) through modifying the calculation method of joint shear and longitudinal reinforcement slip deformations. The feasibility and accuracy of the numerical modeling method were verified by comparing the computed results with experimental data in terms of the hysteresis curves, skeleton curves, feature points, energy dissipation, and stiffness degradation.

This study assessed the contributions of urban green spaces on mental health with joint consideration of people's physiological and psychological responses. The psychological and physiological responses of participants aged between 22 and 28, who visited green spaces in a low-density area of Fuzhou, Fujian Province, China, were measured using Perceived Restorativeness Scale (PRS) methods and biometric wearable sensing devices, respectively. Results showed that exposure to green space led to significant changes in PRS, electrodermal activity (EDA), facial electromyography (EMG), respiration sensor (RESP), and photoplethysmography (PPG), while there is no significant impact on skin temperature (SKT).

Background: In recent years, the average abundance function has attracted much attention as it reflects the degree of cooperation in the population. Then it is significant to analyse how average abundance functions can be increased to promote the proliferation of cooperative behaviour. However, further theoretical analysis for average abundance function with mutation under redistribution mechanism is still lacking.

The present research study aims to investigate numerically the behavior of steel fiber-reinforced high-strength concrete (SFRHC) beam-column joints (BCJs) under seismic action. Based on the plastic damage constitutive model of concrete and elastic-plastic mixed-strengthen constitutive model of steel material, the finite element software ABAQUS was utilized to establish the 3D finite element (FE) model of BCJs. Additionally, the feasibility and accuracy of the numerical simulation were verified by comparing the computed results and experimental observations in terms of the hysteresis curves, skeleton curves, and failure mode.

Seismic Performance of Steel Fiber Reinforced High-Strength Concrete Beam-Column Joints.

Materials (Basel)

June 2021

State Key Laboratory of Green Building Materials, China Building Materials Academy, Beijing 100024, China.

In high-strength concrete, the reinforcement concentration will cause some problems in the beam-column joints (BCJs) due to a large amount of transverse reinforcement. Hence, the main object of this paper is to prevent the reinforcement concentration and reduce the amount of transverse reinforcement in the BCJs through the ideal usage of steel fibers and reinforced high-strength concrete. Pseudo-static tests on seven specimens were carried out to investigate and evaluate the seismic performance of beam-column joints in steel fiber reinforced high-strength concrete (SFRHC).

Using first-principles swarm intelligence structure prediction computations, we explore a fully planar BGe monolayer with unique mechanical and electrical properties. Theoretical calculations reveal that a free-standing BGe monolayer has excellent stability, which is confirmed by the cohesive energy (compared to experimentally synthetic borophene and germanene monolayers), phonon modes (no imaginary frequencies appeared in the phonon spectrum), ab initio molecular dynamics (AIMD) simulations (no broken bonds and geometric reconstructions), and mechanical stability criteria. The metallic feature of the BGe monolayer can be maintained after absorbing different numbers of Na atoms, ensuring good electronic conductivity during the charge/discharge process.

Fire is one of the most unfavorable conditions that cement-based composites can face during their service lives. The uniaxial tensile and flexural tensile properties of the steel-polyvinyl alcohol fiber-calcium carbonate whisker (CW) multi-scale fiber reinforced cement matrix composites (MSFRCs) under high temperatures are studied, including strength, deformation capacity, energy dissipation capacity, and its ability to be assessed through the empirical calculation method.
