Research progress on sexual functioning and associated factors in childhood cancer survivors: a scoping review.

Background: Childhood Cancer Survivors (CCSs) are more likely to report sexual dysfunction than people without cancer history. Sexual functioning encompasses more than just sexual dysfunction. The scarcity of information regarding the status and influencing factors of sexual functioning in CCSs, hampers to devise suitable screening or interventions.

Intravitreal Dexamethasone Implant (Ozurdex) for Ocular Toxocariasis.

This study aimed to evaluate the efficacy and safety of intravitreal dexamethasone implants in the treatment of ocular toxocariasis (OT). A retrospective analysis was performed on 6 cases in which laboratory tests diagnosed OT. All patients were administered with intravitreal dexamethasone implants with or without vitrectomy.

[Clinical profiles of community-acquired infections in children].

To investigate clinical characteristics, outcomes and antimicrobial resistance of community-acquired (CAPA) infections in Chinese pediatric patients. This retrospective study was conducted at 6 tertiary hospitals in China during January 2016 to December 2018. The clinical and microbiological data of CAPA infected hospitalized children in Hainan and in other regions were collected and compared, and the antimicrobial resistance patterns, clinical characteristics and antibiotic therapy were analyzed.

Combined healthy lifestyles and risk of depressive symptoms: A baseline survey in China.

Background: Little evidence exists about whether a combination of healthy lifestyle factors is associated with a lower risk of depressive symptoms among Chinese population. We aimed to investigate the association between combined healthy lifestyle factors and risk of depressive symptoms.

Methods: We conducted a baseline survey from July 2021 to December 2023, including 53,642 Chinese adults from general population.

Alveolar Soft Tissue Sarcoma: Correlation of MRI Features With Histological Grading and Patient Prognosis.

Background: Alveolar Soft Part Sarcoma (ASPS) is a rare, aggressive cancer whose diagnosis and treatment depend on histological grading. However, tumor variability can lead to underestimation, affecting treatment, and patient survival.

Objective: To evaluate MRI features associated with Grade III ASPS and to determine the relationship between MRI features and patient prognosis.

Construction and validation of a risk score system for diagnosing invasive adenocarcinoma presenting as pulmonary pure ground-glass nodules: a multi-center cohort study in China.

Background: Anxiety-driven clinical interventions have been queried due to the nondeterminacy of pure ground-glass nodules (pGGNs). Although radiomics and radiogenomics aid diagnosis, standardization and reproducibility challenges persist. We aimed to assess a risk score system for invasive adenocarcinoma in pGGNs.

Establishing and Validating a novel Prognostic Model in the Initial Diagnosis of Non-small Cell Lung Cancer with Bone Metastases.

The aim of this research is to establish and validate a prognostic model for predicting prognosis in non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) patients with bone metastases. Overall, 176 NSCLC patients with bone metastases were retrospectively evaluated in the research. We employed the LASSO-Cox regression method to select the candidate indicators for predicting the prognosis among NSCLC patients complicated with bone metastases.

Role of elective neck dissection in cT2N0 maxillary sinus squamous cell carcinoma.

Our objective was to examine the impact of elective neck dissection (END) on the prognosis of patients with cT2N0 maxillary sinus squamous cell carcinoma (MS-SCC) and to determine factors that predict the occurrence of occult metastasis in this patient population. A retrospective analysis was conducted using data from the SEER database. Patients with cT2N0 MS-SCC were included in the study and divided into two groups: those who received END and those who did not.

Global Transcriptomic and Characteristics Comparisons between Mouse Fetal Liver and Bone Marrow Definitive Erythropoiesis.

Erythropoiesis occurs first in the yolk sac as a transit "primitive" form, then is gradually replaced by the "definitive" form in the fetal liver (FL) during fetal development and in the bone marrow (BM) postnatally. Mechanisms of resistance to trastuzumab in HER2-positive gastric cancer.

Gastric cancer is one of the most prevalent cancers worldwide, and human epidermal growth factor receptor 2 (HER2)-positive cases account for approximately 20% of the total cases. Currently, trastuzumab + chemotherapy is the recommended first-line treatment for patients with HER2-positive advanced gastric cancer, and the combination has exhibited definite efficacy in HER2-targeted therapy. Multiple small-dose infusions of G-CSF-mobilized haploidentical lymphocytes after autologous haematopoietic stem cell transplantation for acute myeloid leukaemia.

This retrospective study analysed 106 acute myeloid leukaemia (AML) patients undergoing autologous haematopoietic stem cell transplantation (ASCT) to assess the impact of multiple small-dose infusions of granulocyte-colony-stimulating factor (G-CSF)-mobilized haploidentical lymphocytes as post-ASCT maintenance therapy. Among them, 50 patients received lymphocyte maintenance therapy, 21 received alternative maintenance therapy, and 35 received no maintenance therapy. Patients receiving lymphocyte maintenance therapy demonstrated significantly higher overall survival (OS) and disease-free survival (DFS) compared to those without maintenance therapy, with 4-year OS and DFS rates notably elevated.

Centipeda minima and 6-O-angeloylplenolin enhance the efficacy of immune checkpoint inhibitors in non-small cell lung cancer.

Background: Chemotherapeutic agents including cisplatin, gemcitabine, and pemetrexed, significantly enhance the efficacy of immune checkpoint inhibitors (ICIs) in non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) by increasing PD-L1 expression and potentiating T cell cytotoxicity. However, the low response rate and adverse effects limit the application of chemotherapy/ICI combinations in patients.

Methods: We screened for medicinal herbs that could perturb PD-L1 expression and enhance T cell cytotoxicity in the presence of anti-PD-L1 antibody, and investigated the underlying mechanisms.

Abnormal static and dynamic brain network connectivity associated with chronic tinnitus.

In order to comprehensively understand the changes of brain networks in patients with chronic tinnitus, this study combined static and dynamic analysis methods to explore the abnormalities of brain networks. Thirty-two patients with chronic tinnitus and 30 age-, sex- and education-matched healthy controls (HC) were recruited. Independent component analysis was used to identify resting-state networks (RSNs).

A new classification and laparoscopic treatment of extrahepatic choledochal cyst.

Background & Aims: Hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC), one of the malignancies with a wide expression of stress ligands recognized by Vδ1γδ T cells, has received much attention in adoptive immunotherapy of γδ T cells. In this study, we aimed to identify the potential anti-tumor Vδ1γδ T subpopulations in HCC.

Methods: Healthy donors (HDs) and HCC patients were recruited from the Affiliated Cancer Hospital of Zhengzhou University.
