Traditional thrombolytic therapy is limited by low specificity, uncontrollable bleeding complications, and secondary vascular re-embolism. To address this issue, we developed a thrombin-responsive and sequential targeted nanoplatform (MMSN-UK/TI@pep-Fuco) for efficient thrombolysis based on the attack-defense-protection integrated strategy. Herein, the multilevel mesoporous silica nanoparticle with multiple pore sizes was synthesized and modified with fucoidan (Fuco) using the compound peptide (pep) as a bridge to form multifunctional drug carriers MMSN@pep-Fuco.

J Food Sci

March 2025

College of Food Science and Engineering & Institute of Special Oilseed Processing and Technology, Henan University of Technology, Zhengzhou, China.

In this study, free, soluble bound (glycosylated, esterified), and insoluble-bound phenolic compounds from safflower seeds were identified and quantified by UPLC-MS/MS. The four phenolic fractions were assessed for their antioxidant capacity and inhibition of α-amylase and tyrosinase. In four phenolic fractions, 55 phenolic compounds, mainly flavonoids (19) and phenolic acids (16), were identified.

Spatial transcriptomics (ST) technology provides gene expression profiles with spatial context, offering critical insights into cellular interactions and tissue architecture. A core task in ST is spatial domain identification, which involves detecting coherent regions with similar spatial expression patterns. However, existing methods often fail to fully exploit spatial information, leading to limited representational capacity and suboptimal clustering accuracy.

The Notch signaling pathway is an evolutionarily conserved intercellular signaling cascade that regulates a number of cellular processes, including cell development, proliferation, apoptosis, and genome stability. The Notch signaling pathway is pervasive in the human body, affecting tumorigenesis and progression, which is one of the most significant signaling pathways in this regard, influencing various receptors and cellular functions of tumor cells. Aberrant expression or mutation of Notch has been linked to the onset and progression of a variety of malignant tumors.

Objective: A middle cranial fossa is a well-recognized location for an intracranial arachnoid cyst in children. Giant middle fossa arachnoid cysts (GMFACs) can compress brain tissue, leading to rupture and potentially developing a subdural hygroma or hematoma. With recent advancements in neuroendoscopic technology, neuroendoscopic treatments have increasingly been used for middle fossa cysts.

Front Psychiatry

February 2025

College of Computer Science and Electronic Engineering, Hunan University, Changsha, China.

Background: Although childhood sexual abuse (CSA) has been widely recognized for its association with sleep disturbance (SD) in adulthood, little is known about its associations with perceived discrimination (PD) and rumination. This study seeks to build upon existing literature by examining the impact of CSA on adult SD within a Chinese survivor sample while also investigating the mediating effects of PD and rumination on this association.

Methods: A total of 1,210 respondents completed the Childhood Sexual Abuse Questionnaire, the Inventory of Depressive Symptomatology Self Report, the Perceived Discrimination Scale, and the Ruminative Response Scale.

The ternary Cu/ZnO/AlO catalyst is widely used in the industry for renewable methanol synthesis. The tenuous trade-off between the strong metal-support interaction (SMSI)-induced Cu-ZnO interface and the accessible Cu surface strongly affects the activity of the final catalyst. Successes in the control of oxide migration on adsorbate-induced SMSI catalysts have motivated this to develop a supercritical CO activation strategy to synchronously perfect the Cu-O-Zn interface and Cu-Cu surface sites through the manipulation of the adsorbate diffusion kinetics, which involves OCH and "side-on" fixed CO species.

Acid-Controlled Fabrication of Multicolor Carbon Dots with Switchable Organelle-Targeting Capability for Visualizing Organelle Interactions.

Anal Chem

March 2025

Zhengzhou Key Laboratory of Functional Nanomaterials and Medical Theranostic, Henan Joint International Research Laboratory of Green Construction of Functional Molecules and Their Bioanalytical Applications, College of Chemistry, Institute of Analytical Chemistry for Life Science, Zhengzhou University, Zhengzhou 450001, China.

Synchronous regulation of the photoluminescence and physicochemical characteristics of multicolor carbon dots (CDs) can fully realize their application potential in multicomponent imaging. Herein, by utilizing an acid-regulated synthetic strategy, green-emissive and orange-emissive CDs that target lipid droplets (LDs) and mitochondria (Mito) have been developed for fluorescence visualization of LD-Mito interactions. The finding of different molecular fluorophores reveals that the precursor undergoes different reaction pathways in neutral and acidic conditions, which alters the size of sp-conjugated domain and surface properties for the successful regulation of photoluminescence properties and organelle-targeting ability.

ACS Appl Mater Interfaces

March 2025

Key Lab for Special Functional Materials, Ministry of Education, National & Local Joint Engineering Research Center for High-Efficiency Display and Lighting Technology, School of Materials Science and Engineering, and Collaborative Innovation Center of Nano Functional Materials and Applications, Henan University, Kaifeng 475004, China.

Over the past decade, the two-dimensional material MoS has attracted great attention due to its room temperature stability, high surface area-to-volume ratios, abundance of active sites at the edges, and exceptional surface sensitivity to the environment, which are key characteristics for applications in chemical sensing. However, the slow recovery of ammonia (NH) sensors based on MoS materials at room temperature has restricted their further development. This paper presents a novel approach to address this limitation by demonstrating a monolayer MoS-based NH sensor with rapid recovery capabilities, leveraging O generated through gas-ion-gate (GIG) technology.
