March 2025

The Centre of Nanoscale Science and Technology and Key Laboratory of Functional Polymer Materials, State Key Laboratory and Institute of Elemento-Organic Chemistry, College of Chemistry, Nankai University, Tianjin, 300071, China.

Photocatalytic hydrogen production through water splitting represents a promising strategy to store solar energy as chemical energy. Current photocatalysts primarily focus on traditional semiconductor materials, such as metal oxides, sulfides, nitrides, g-CN, etc. However, these materials often suffer from large bandgap and fast charge recombination, which limit sunlight utilization and result in unsatisfactory photon conversion efficiency.

February 2025

Zhongyuan Critical Metal Laboratory, School of Chemical Engineering, Zhengzhou University, Zhengzhou 450001, China.

The excessive utilization and emission of waste plastics have caused serious damage to the environment, and it is of great significance to explore high-value utilization methods for these waste plastics. To address this challenge, functional nano cobalt-loaded porous carbon materials (CoPC) with excellent antibiotic wastewater removal properties were prepared by one-step pyrolysis using waste PET plastics as a carbon source, a process described in this paper. Characterization revealed that the obtained CoPC-2 catalysts had a high degree of defects, a large specific surface area (343.

Alzheimer's disease (AD) is a severe neurodegenerative disease characterized mainly by the formation of amyloid beta (Aβ) plaques and abnormal phosphorylation of tau. In recent years, an imbalance in iron homeostasis has been recognized to play a key role in the pathological process of AD. Abnormal iron accumulation can activate various kinases such as glycogen synthase kinase-3β, cyclin-dependent kinase 5, and mitogen-activated protein kinase, leading to abnormal phosphorylation of tau and amyloid precursor protein, and accelerating the formation of Aβ plaques and neurofibrillary tangles.

March 2025

Department of Cardiology, The Fourth Affiliated Hospital of Soochow University, Suzhou Dushu Lake Hospital, Medical Center of Soochow University, Suzhou, China.

Ischaemic cardiomyopathy (IC) predominantly arises from prolonged deprivation of oxygen in the coronary arteries, resulting in compromised cardiac contractility or relaxation. This study investigates the role of disulfidptosis-associated genes (DiGs) in IC. Through the analysis of datasets GSE5406 and GSE57338, we explored the association between DiGs and immune characteristics to identify crucial genes contributing to IC development.

Pressure-Driven Circularly Polarized Luminescence Enhancement and Chirality Amplification.

J Am Chem Soc

March 2025

Henan Key Laboratory of Crystalline Molecular Functional Materials, College of Chemistry, Zhengzhou University, Zhengzhou 450001, China.

Achieving ultrahigh-color-purity circularly polarized luminescence (CPL) in low-dimensional chiral perovskites is challenging due to strong electron-phonon coupling caused by lead halide octahedral distortion. Herein, the circularly polarized piezoluminescence behaviors of six novel chiral perovskites, (/-3-XPEA)PbBr (PEA = phenethylamine; X = F, Cl, Br), were systematically investigated. Upon compression, (/-3-ClPEA)PbBr exhibits significant piezofluorochromic behaviors, transforming from yellow CPL to ultrahigh-color-purity deep-blue CPL.

Semantic SLAM system for mobile robots based on large visual model in complex environments.

Sci Rep

March 2025

School of mechatronics engineering, Harbin Institute of Technology, Harbin, 150001, Harbin, People's Republic of China.

Simultaneous localization and mapping (SLAM) plays an important role in many fields, one of which is to help unmanned devices such as drones, self-driving cars and intelligent robots to achieve precise positioning and mapping. However, when facing complex or changing surroundings, especially when healthcare robots face a large number of mobile healthcare workers and patients in wards, the hospital environment is relatively complex, and the traditional positioning and mapping methods based on geometric features, such as points and lines, are not able to achieve accurate positioning and mapping results for healthcare robots. This paper mainly focuses on the characteristics of complex dynamic environment, and proposes a method to obtain semantic information of surrounding ring and dynamic point culling strategy for robot localisation and mapping.

The Clinical Hospital of Chengdu Brain Science Institute, School of Life Science and Technology, University of Electronic Science and Technology of China, Chengdu, P.R. China.

The heterogeneity of major depressive disorder (MDD) has hindered clinical translation and neuromarker identification. Biotyping facilitates solving the problems of heterogeneity, by dissecting MDD patients into discrete subgroups. However, interindividual variations suggest that depression may be conceptualized as a "continuum," rather than as a "category.

Trends Pharmacol Sci

March 2025

Fujian Key Laboratory of Innate Immune Biology, Biomedical Research Center of South China, College of Life Science, Fujian Normal University, Fuzhou, China. Electronic address:

Herpes simplex virus type 1 (HSV-1) is a DNA virus with strong replication capabilities, a large genomic payload (≥30 kb), and low toxicity, making it a prominent vector in cancer gene therapy. Clinically approved oncolytic HSV-1 (oHSV-1) variants, such as T-VEC and G47Δ, demonstrate safety and efficacy in localized tumors, but face challenges in treating metastatic disease. To address this issue, next-generation oHSV-1 designs focus on precision targeting and immune remodeling through the delivery of multiple exogenous genes.

Naturally derived materials have attracted much attention owing to the demand of sustainability. In this work, bio-based polyamide was used to tailor the foaming behavior of poly(lactic acid) by dispersing into different geometric sizes. The results showed that both micro-sized spherical and fibrillar polyamide markedly shortened the half-crystallization time of poly(lactic acid) in isothermal crystallization process, while nanofibrils played a better role on promoting crystallization than submicron spheres.

The mechanisms by which cell wall polysaccharides regulate phenolic release are essential to human health. Scanning electron microscopy (SEM), surface area and porosimetry analyzer, high-performance liquid chromatography (HPLC), and atomic force microscopy (AFM) indicated that compared to fresh plums, postharvest ripening reduced chain linearity in the homogalacturonan region of pectins and the degree of branching of RG-I; pectin and hemicellulose underwent solubilization and depolymerization by cell wall-degrading enzymes; and the specific surface area of cellulose was reduced by 19.5 %-26.
