  • Our understanding of how exercise causes oxidative stress has improved over the last 30 years, highlighting the role of plant polysaccharides like dietary fibers and resistant starches in enhancing performance and recovery.
  • These plant compounds help improve energy metabolism, reduce fatigue, and lessen oxidative stress after workouts while also supporting muscle recovery and detoxification.
  • Additionally, antioxidants from plant-based foods protect the body against oxidative damage, enhancing exercise endurance and immune function, and their interaction with polysaccharides in the gut microbiota can improve overall health.

School of Humanities and Law, Zhengzhou Shengda University, Zhengzhou, 451191, Henan, China.

This paper provides a novel approach using state-of-the-art generative Artificial Intelligence (AI) models to enhance the accuracy of machine learning methods in detecting AI-generated texts; the underlying generative capabilities are used along with ensemble-based learning methods for the exact characterization of created text attributes. Four basic steps are involved in the proposed methodology. The first step of the text process is the preprocessing stage itself consisting of several steps for the purification of irrelevant data.

Certificateless public key infrastructure (PKI) avoids the key escrow problem associated with identity-based PKI and has recently been widely employed in anonymous communication schemes for vehicular adhoc networks (VANETs). In existing certificateless anonymous signcryption schemes for VANETs, vulnerabilities such as potential attacks involving the substitution of pseudonyms and the forging of pseudonymous public-private key pairs exist due to the lack of "identity-key binding" and "non-linearity processing of public-private key pairs." To address this issue, we propose an improved certificateless anonymous signcryption scheme based on elliptic curve cryptography.

This study was carried out to systematically review and evaluate the influence of exercise with and without curcumin on body fat composition, glucose, and lipid metabolism in obese adults. Search for eligible studies through four databases, and then proceed with screening. The inclusion criteria are as follows: (1) obese adults; (2) randomized controlled trial (RCT); (3) classified the exercise intervention with curcumin supplementation as the exercise with curcumin (CU) group and without curcumin supplementation as the exercise without curcumin (EX) group; (4) Conducted pre- and post-training assessments, which include body fat composition, glucose and lipid metabolism parameters.

Background: Unhealthy eating habits, such as low vegetable and fruit intake, are associated with many health problems. 24-h movement behaviors have been reported to be positively associated with numerous health-related outcomes. Despite the importance of these two modifiable lifestyle behaviors in building healthy habits in university students, there is a paucity of relevant research in this population.

Article Synopsis
  • PRRSV causes severe reproductive issues in sows and pneumonia in piglets, leading to high mortality and significant economic losses.
  • Researchers found that the USP1 deubiquitinating enzyme plays a key role in PRRSV replication by stabilizing the viral protein Nsp1β, thereby enhancing the virus's ability to reproduce.
  • This study uncovers a new mechanism where PRRSV manipulates the host's immune response, suggesting USP1 as a potential target for developing treatments against the virus.

EFL learners' boredom coping strategies: the role of teacher-student rapport and support.

BMC Psychol

November 2023

School of Foreign Languages, Zhengzhou Shengda University, Zhengzhou, Henan Province, 450000, People's Republic of China.

Background: A significant issue in the language education context is examining the coping strategies that learners apply to combat boredom in the class environment. As a significant contextual element affecting different dimensions of learners' acquisition, teacher support in general education has been extensively studied but widely neglected in the English as a Foreign Language (EFL) setting. Also, having a relationship with a teacher can help a learner cope better with school challenges as the teacher can act as a reference for the learner.

Finding new agents to enhance the strength of alkali-activated (ground granulated blast furnace slag) GGBS is beneficial for environmental protection. Here, we reveal the effect of pregelatinized starch-modifying calcium silicate hydrate (C-S-H) particles on the nanostructure tailoring of NaOH-activated GGBS hydrates. The results show that, for the synthetic modified C-S-H, the pregelatinized starch absorbs on the surface of C-S-H, which modifies the silicate chains and crystal structure.

In order to better understand the link between High-Performance Human Resource Practices (HPHRPs) and outcomes, this study examines the mediating roles of person-job fit (PJ fit) and person-organization fit (PO fit) using congruence theory. Through a survey questionnaire, data were gathered from 296 people who work at educational institutions in China. The results demonstrated that the association between HPHRPs and outcomes is mediated by both PJ fit and PO fit.

Purpose: Previous studies are based on social exchange theory to explore the influence of leadership style on employees' deviant innovation behavior. However, deviant innovation is risky, not supported by the organization, and is expected to benefit the long-term development of the organization. The key to the problem lies in how to guide employees to think and solve problems from the perspective of the organization, instead of just relying on material or spiritual exchange and return.

Impact of regional temperature on the adoption of electric vehicles: an empirical study based on 20 provinces in China.

Environ Sci Pollut Res Int

January 2023

School of Foreign Languages, Zhengzhou Shengda University, Zhengzhou, Henan, 451191, People's Republic of China.

The development of electric vehicles (EVs) is not only a necessary path for China to move from a big country to a powerful country in automobile industry, but also a strategic measure to achieve the goal of "peak carbon dioxide emissions" and "carbon neutrality." However, in the low and high temperature environment, EVs may face problems such as a large reduction in cruising range, slow charging and poor safety, which decrease the attractiveness of EVs to consumers and hinder the EV adoption. However, existing research rarely pays attention to the impact of temperature on the EV adoption.

Research-based learning is a comprehensive practical course that requires students to identify research topics from their study life and social life and acquires knowledge and applied knowledge through independent inquiry in a way similar to scientific research. Under the framework of CT (constructivism theory), through the study of English research-based learning and its functions, starting from few-shot learning, a college English teaching model based on the integration of network and research-based learning is constructed to explore the realization method of this model in the teaching process. UCSR-EW (user context-aware semantic-aware recommendation for English words) algorithm is used to generate English word recommendation, and the English word records are represented by the semantic model.
