The study investigates the influence of career calling on the learning engagement of medical students in higher vocational colleges, focusing on the chain mediation roles of career decision self-efficacy (CDSE) and career adaptability. A cross-sectional survey was conducted with 173 students from three vocational colleges across China, utilizing various scales to measure career calling, learning engagement, career adaptability, and CDSE, and structural equation modeling was employed to analyze the survey data. Chain mediation analysis revealed a significant positive correlation between career calling and learning engagement among medical students.

Context: In this paper, the effects of torsional deformation on the electronic properties of intrinsic WSe system and Ca-adsorbed WSe system were systematically studied by first-principles method. The results show that Ca can be stably adsorbed on the vacancy (H site) of WSe surface in all deformation systems, and the adsorption energy of the system without deformation is the highest. Intrinsic WSe is a semiconductor with a direct band gap of 1.

Context: In this study, the electronic structure and diffusion barrier of the Ca-adsorbed WTe system under different torsion angles were calculated based on the first-principles method. The results show that the structure and properties of the pure WTe system and Ca-adsorbed WTe system are affected by torsional deformation. When the torsion angle is 6°, the intrinsic WTe changes from a direct band gap to an indirect band gap.

Herein, a cost-effective and portable microfluidic paper-based sensor is proposed for the simultaneous and rapid detection of glucose, free amino acids, and vitamin C in fruit. Context: The functionalization of graphene is the best way to improve its interfacial compatibility and dispersibility in polymer matrix to obtain high-performance composites. In this study, three nanocomposite models with different salt layer thicknesses were established and simulated by molecular dynamics method to understand the effect of oxygen-containing functional groups on the impermeability of epoxy coatings. The methodology for the synthesis of fluorene-based atropisomers was developed via the strategy of aromatic ring formation. By this strategy, an efficient benzannulation of indene-based diene with benzoylacetonitrile divergently promoted by DABCO and a chiral organocatalyst was established, and various atropisomeric fluorene-based skeletons were generated in good yields, which not only provide a new strategy for the construction of atropisomeric biaryls but also offer a new member to the atropisomeric family.
