: Evidence for the long-term health effect of low-carbohydrate diets (LCDs) is inconsistent. Herein, we aimed to examine the associations of LCDs with cardiovascular disease (CVD) and all-cause and cause-specific mortality. : We searched PubMed, EMBASE, and the Web of Science up to 26 July 2023 for eligible publications.

Coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) was first identified in Wuhan, China, in December 2019. Although previous studies have described the clinical aspects of COVID-19, few studies have focused on the early detection of severe COVID-19. Therefore, this study aimed to identify the predictors of severe COVID-19 and to compare clinical features between patients with severe COVID-19 and those with less severe COVID-19.

Objective: Lung cancer (LC) is one of the most common malignant tumors worldwide with low five-year survival rate due to lack of effective diagnosis. This study aims to find an optimal combination of autoantibodies for detecting of early-stage LC.
Methods: Nine relatively novel autoantibodies against tumor-associated (TAAs) (PSIP1, TOP2A, ACTR3, RPS6KA5, HMGB3, MMP12, GREM1, ZWINT and NUSAP1) were detected by using ELISA.

Background: Epidermal growth factor receptor (EGFR) signaling pathway plays a fundamental role in regulating cell proliferation, differentiation, apoptosis, migration, and so on, which are associated with tumor development, including the esophageal squamous cell carcinoma (ESCC). The single nucleotide polymorphisms (SNPs) of microRNA-binding sites with target genes in the EGFR pathway could lead to alteration in the combination of microRNA with target genes and contribute to the susceptibility of cancer.
Methods: A case-control study including 494 ESCC patients and 494 controls was carried out to investigate the genetic susceptibility of 4 microRNA-binding site SNPs (rs712 in the binding site of KRAS to let-7, rs8904 in the binding site of NFBIA to mir-507, rs3738894 in the binding site of protein kinase C epsilon to mir-218, rs701848 in the binding site of phosphatase and tensin to mir-1304) as well as the interactions of gene-environment in the development of ESCC.

Ubiquitin specific protease 7 (USP7) is one of the deubiquitinating enzymes (DUB) that erases ubiquitin and protects substrate protein from degradation. Full activity of USP7 requires the C-terminal Ub-like domains fold back onto the catalytic domain, allowing the remodeling of the active site to a catalytically competent state by the C-terminal peptide. Until now, numerous proteins have been identified as substrates of USP7, which play a key role in cell cycle, DNA repair, chromatin remodeling, and epigenetic regulation.
