Objective: To explore the assisted reproductive outcomes of patients with atypical endometrial hyperplasia (AEH) and early-stage endometrial cancer (EEC) who achieved complete remission after conservative treatment and to provide reference for clinical selection of appropriate conservative treatment.

Method: This retrospective cohort study included seven patients with EEC and 62 patients with AEH who underwent in vitro fertilization or intracytoplasmic sperm injection at the Reproductive Center of the Third Affiliated Hospital of Zhengzhou University between August 2015 and October 2023. The authors divided the participants into two groups based on the type of fertility-sparing treatment received: the oral medication group and the levonorgestrel-releasing intrauterine system (LNG-IUS) group.

NLRP3 inflammasome is critical in the development and progression of many metabolic diseases driven by chronic inflammation, but its effect on the pathology of postmenopausal osteoporosis (PMOP) remains poorly understood. We here firstly examined the levels of NLRP3 inflammasome in PMOP patients by ELISA. Then we investigated the possible mechanisms underlying the effect of NLRP3 inflammasome on PMOP by RNA sequencing of osteoblasts treated with NLRP3 siRNA and qPCR.

Age-related macular degeneration (AMD) is an ocular disease that leads to progressive photoreceptor death and visual impairment. Currently, the most common therapeutic strategy is to deliver anti-vascular endothelial growth factor (anti-VEGF) agents into the eyes of patients with wet AMD. However, this treatment method requires repeated injections, which potentially results in surgical complications and unwanted side effects for patients.

SNHG3/WISP2 Axis Promotes Hela Cell Migration and Invasion Activating Wnt/β-Catenin Signaling.

Cancer Genomics Proteomics

December 2023

Department of Oncology, Henan Key Laboratory for Precision Medicine in Cancer, Zheng Zhou University People's Hospital, Henan Provincial People's Hospital, Zhengzhou, P.R. China;

Article Synopsis
  • Cervical cancer (CC) is a serious health issue for women, and scientists want to understand how it spreads. This study looks at a molecule called SNHG3 to see how it might be linked to the spread of CC.
  • The researchers found that SNHG3 is more active in CC tissues and when it's turned off, the cancer cells don’t move as much or invade other areas.
  • They discovered that SNHG3 affects certain proteins that are involved in how cancer cells behave, which could help in finding new ways to treat or stop the spread of cervical cancer.

The Dissolve drug-coated balloons (DCBs) is a new-generation DCB coated with paclitaxel of balloon surface, with midchain triglyceride excipient. Although the use of DCBs is a promising technique, little is known about the the clinical efficacy of the novel Dissolve DCB in coronary small vessel disease. This study was a prospective, randomized, multicenter, noninferiority trial comparing the Dissolve DCB with the Resolute drug-eluting stent (DES) in patients with a reference vessel diameter ≥2.

Giant uniaxial negative thermal expansion in FeZr alloy over a wide temperature range.

Nat Commun

July 2023

Beijing Advanced Innovation Center for Materials Genome Engineering, Department of Physical Chemistry, University of Science and Technology Beijing, Beijing, 100083, China.

Negative thermal expansion (NTE) alloys possess great practical merit as thermal offsets for positive thermal expansion due to its metallic properties. However, achieving a large NTE with a wide temperature range remains a great challenge. Herein, a metallic framework-like material FeZr is found to exhibit a giant uniaxial (1D) NTE with a wide temperature range (93-1078 K, [Formula: see text]).

Department of Neurology, People's Hospital of Henan University, Zhengzhou, Henan 450003, China; Department of Neurology, Henan Provincial People's Hospital, Zhengzhou, Henan 450003, China; Department of Neurology, People's Hospital of Zheng Zhou University, Zhengzhou, Henan 450003, China. Electronic address:

Parkinson's disease (PD), the most common neurological motor system disorder, which characterised by the irreversible loss of dopaminergic neurones in the substantia nigra pars compacta, and leads to the deficiency of dopamine in the striatum. Deposited Lewy bodies (LBs) in diseased neurones and nerve terminals are the pathological hallmark of PD, and alpha-synuclein (α-Syn) is the most prominent protein in LBs. The tight association between α-Syn and the molecular pathology of PD has generatly increaed the interest in using the α-Syn species as biomarkers to diagnose early PD.

Development of an ELISA Assay for the Determination of SARS-CoV-2 Protein Subunit Vaccine Antigen Content.

Viruses

December 2022

NHC Key Laboratory of Research on Quality and Standardization of Biotech Products, NMPA Key Laboratory for Quality Research and Evaluation of Biological Products, National Institutes for Food and Drug Control, Beijing 102600, China.

The severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2) protein subunit vaccine is one of the mainstream technology platforms for the development of COVID-19 vaccines, and most R&D units use the receptor-binding domain (RBD) or spike (S) protein as the main target antigen. The complexity of vaccine design, sequence, and expression systems makes it urgent to establish common antigen assays to facilitate vaccine development. In this study, we report the development of a double-antibody sandwich enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA) to determine the antigen content of SARS-CoV-2 protein subunit vaccines based on the United States Pharmacopeia <1220> and ICH (international conference on harmonization) Q14 and Q2 (R2) requirements.

Immune checkpoint inhibitors (ICIs) are changing all aspects of malignant tumour therapy as an immunotherapy subverter in oncology. However, the current ICIs might induce systemic immune activation in other tissues and organs since they are not tumour-specific, causing the immune system to attack some normal tissues and organs of the human body. The toxicity can also amplify greatly although combined immunotherapy for cancer has increased the curative efficacy.

Identification of biomarkers for immunotherapy response in prostate cancer and potential drugs to alleviate immunosuppression.

Aging (Albany NY)

June 2022

Department of Urology, The First Affiliated Hospital of Zhengzhou University, Zheng Zhou University, Zhengzhou, Henan, China.

Background: Immunotherapy has a significant effect on the treatment of many tumor types. However, prostate cancers generally fail to show significant responses to immunotherapy owing to their immunosuppressive microenvironments. To sustain progress towards more effective immunotherapy for prostate cancer, comprehensive analyses of the genetic characteristics of the immune microenvironment and novel therapeutic strategies are required.
