Department of Nephrology, Zhejiang University affiliated Sir Run Run Shaw Hospital, No. 98 Yilong Road, Yipeng Street, Qiantang New District, Hangzhou City, 310020, Zhejiang Province, China.

Background: Chronic kidney disease (CKD) poses a significant global health challenge. Inflammation plays a central role in the pathogenesis and progression of CKD, which has been proved to be affected by dietary patterns. To understand how dietary inflammatory index (DII) impacts the disease course and clinical parameters, we aim to explore the relationship between DII and multiple clinical parameters in a specific cohort of CKD patients, and to provide insights into the potential of dietary for managing CKD.

Department of Endocrinology and Metabolism, Zhejiang University Affiliated Sir Run Run Shaw Hospital, School of Medicine, Hangzhou, P.R. China.

Background: The prevalence of 'low bone mineral density (BMD)' in Type 2 diabetes (T2DM), especially stratified by body mass index, is seldom reported. The relation of the euthyroid range and low BMD in T2DM remains to be further elucidated.

Objectives: We aim to investigate the thyroid hormones' impact on BMD among euthyroid patients with T2DM.

Background: Lumbar disc degeneration (LDD) may be related to aging, biomechanical and genetic factors. Despite the extensive work on understanding its etiology, there is currently no automated tool for accurate prediction of its progression.

Purpose: We aim to establish a novel deep learning-based pipeline to predict the progression of LDD-related findings using lumbar MRIs.

Relative Adrenocortical Insufficiency Following Radioactive Iodine Therapy for Graves' Disease: A Report of Two Cases.

Int J Gen Med

May 2021

Department of Endocrinology and Metabolism, Zhejiang University Affiliated Sir Run Run Shaw Hospital, School of Medicine, Hangzhou, People's Republic of China.

Introduction: In recent years, radioactive iodine (RAI) therapy has become a main choice for Graves' disease. Background: Because there has been no quality improvement initiatives targeting patients with type 2 diabetes (T2D) receiving basal insulin therapy, this study evaluated the effectiveness of physician-targeted education for optimizing glycemic management in these patients in China.

Methods: This multicenter open-label observational study conducted across China had a baseline sample survey, followed by a 6-month education program, and ended with a post-education sample survey. Education based on T2D treatment guidelines was given at Months 1 and 3, and was reinforced by self-audit every month.

Department of Endocrinology and Metabolism, Zhejiang University Affiliated Sir Run Run Shaw Hospital, School of Medicine, Hangzhou, P.R. China

Objective: To investigate the relationship between diabetic retinopathy, neuropathy and low ankle-brachial index in mild-to-moderate chronic kidney disease of type 2 diabetic patients.

Methods: We enrolled 875 type 2 diabetic patients who were divided into two phenotypes (with or without albuminuria) and stratified into three groups (stage 1 with estimated glomerular filtration rate ⩾ 90 mL/min/1.73 m(2), stage 2 with estimated glomerular filtration rate of 60-89, stage 3 with estimated glomerular filtration rate of 30-59).
