Titania (TiO) is one of promising photo catalysts for its high ability to resistant photo corrosion and environmental friendliness, but its photocatalytic activity is too low to be used in industry. To find an approach to solve this problem, graphene oxide (GO), tungsten trioxide (WO) and TiO composite with hollow mesoporous structure was prepared by a two-step spray drying method. The composite was used as raw material to constitute a membrane onto ITO glass to form a membrane photo-anode.

The extracellular matrix (ECM) is a complex and dynamic three-dimensional network that functions as an architectural scaffold to maintain cardiac homeostasis. Important biochemical and mechanical signals associated with cell‒cell communication are provided via the reciprocal interaction between cells and the ECM. By converting mechanical cues into biochemical signals, the ECM regulates many cell processes, including migration, adhesion, growth, differentiation, proliferation, and apoptosis.

The precise and rapid extraction of lithium from salt-lake brines is critical to meeting the global demand for lithium resources. However, it remains a major challenge to design ion-transport membranes with accurate recognition and fast transport path for the target ion. Here, we report a triazine covalent organic framework (COF) membrane with high resolution for Li+ and Mg2+ that enables fast Li+ transport while almost completely inhibiting Mg2+ permeation.

The Asian corn borer (ACB), (Guenée, 1854), is a serious pest of several crops, particularly a destructive pest of maize and other cereals throughout most of Asia, including China, the Philippines, Indonesia, Malaysia, Thailand, Sri Lanka, India, Bangladesh, Japan, Korea, Vietnam, Laos, Myanmar, Afghanistan, Pakistan and Cambodia. It has long been known as a pest in South-east Asia and has invaded other parts of Asia, Solomon Islands, parts of Africa and certain regions of Australia and Russia. Consequently, worldwide efforts have been increased to ensure new control strategies for management.

Lipoteichoic acid synthase (LtaS) is crucial for the biosynthesis of lipoteichoic acid (LTA) in lactic acid bacteria (LAB), where LTA plays a key role in bacterial adhesion, immune modulation, and maintaining cell integrity. This study explores the regulation of LtaS activity in , examining the effects of factors such as temperature, pH, and metal ions on enzyme activity. Molecular docking was used to identify critical amino acids at the enzyme's active site, and site-directed mutagenesis confirmed the role of five key residues (Glu-259, Thr-303, Asn-353, Arg-360, and His-420) in LtaS activity.

Background: Lysosome is a highly heterogeneous membranous organelle in eukaryotic cells, which regulates many physiological processes in the cell. Studies have found that lysosomal dysfunction disrupts cellular homeostasis and is associated with Parkinson's disease (PD). Transmembrane protein 175 (TMEM175) is a lysosomal cation channel whose activity is essential for lysosomal homeostasis.

The apoplastic pH (pH) in plants is susceptible to environmental stimuli. However, the biological implications of pH variation have remained largely unknown. The universal stress phytohormone abscisic acid (ABA) as well as the major environmental stimuli drought and salinity were selected as representative cases to investigate how changes in pH relate to plant behaviors in Arabidopsis.

Background: Radiomics holds great potential for the noninvasive evaluation of EGFR-TKIs and ICIs responses, but data privacy and model robustness challenges limit its current efficacy and safety. This study aims to develop and validate an encrypted multidimensional radiomics approach to enhance the stratification and analysis of therapeutic responses.
Materials And Methods: This multicenter study incorporated various data types from 506 NSCLC patients, which underwent preprocessing through anonymization methods and were securely encrypted using the AES-CBC algorithm.

This narrative review explores the link between breast cancer and night shift work in nurses, focusing on genetic and epigenetic factors. Breast cancer disproportionately affects women globally, and night shift work is increasingly recognized as a potential risk factor. Nurses who work consecutive overnight shifts face elevated risks due to disruptions in their circadian rhythms.

Background: Legionella pneumophila is an uncommon pathogen causing community-acquired atypical pneumonia. Acinetobacter baumannii is a major pathogen responsible for hospital-acquired pneumonia, but it rarely causes serious infections in a community setting. Without prompt and appropriate treatments, infection from either of these two pathogens can cause a high mortality rate.

Background: Frequent interspecific hybridization, unclear genetic backgrounds, and ambiguous evolutionary relationships within the genus Lycoris pose significant challenges to the identification and classification of hybrids, thereby impacting the application and development of Lycoris. This study utilizes karyotype structure, genome size, and fluorescent in situ hybridization (FISH) technology to explore the chromosomal evolution and hybrid identification of Lycoris employing three approaches at the cytogenetic level.
Results: The findings indicate that species with a smaller basic chromosome number exhibit less asymmetry than those with a larger basic chromosome number, suggesting that species with different basic chromosome numbers may have followed different evolutionary pathways.
