Adhesion-switchable ultralow-hysteresis polymer ionogels are highly demanded in soft electronics to avoid debonding damage and signal distortion, yet the design and fabrication of such ionogels are challenging. Herein, we propose a novel method to design switchable adhesive ionogels by using binary ionic solvents with two opposite-affinity ionic components. The obtained ionogels exhibit moisture-induced phase separation, facilitating switchable adhesion with a high detaching efficiency (>99%).

Lymph node metastasis significantly affects the NSCLC patients' staging, treatment strategy, and prognosis. Studies have shown that IGF2BP3, an oncofetal protein and an m6A reader, overexpresses and correlates to lymph node metastasis and worse overall survival in histopathological studies including NSCLC, but its mechanism needs further study. This study explored IGF2BP3's function and mechanism in LUAD lymphatic metastasis using public databases, a human LUAD tissue microarray, human LUAD cells, and a lymphatic metastasis model in male BALB/c nude mice.

Potassium-sulfur (K-S) batteries are severely limited by the sluggish reaction kinetics of the cyclooctasulfur (cyclo-S) electrode with low conductivity, which urgently requires a novel cathode to facilitate activity to improve sulfur utilization. In this study, using the wet chemistry method, the molecular clip of Li is created to replace cyclo-S molecular with the highly active chain-like S molecular. The molecular clip strategy effectively lowers the reaction barrier in potassium-sulfur systems, and the stretching of S─S bonds weakens the binding between sulfur atoms, facilitating the transformation of potassium polysulfides (KPSs).

Inspired by the adhesion differences on the surfaces of fresh and dried rose petals, a rose bionic self-cleaning fog collector (RBSC) was designed and prepared to realize a self-driven fog harvesting function. The droplet detachment iteration rate was revealed by the regulating mechanism of the surface adhesion force of the RBSC and the influence of bionic texture parameters, as demonstrated through the fog harvesting experiment and droplet detachment failure analysis. Through the surface adhesion force regulation, the probability of droplet dissipation with the airflow is reduced by increasing the falling droplets' mass, and the single surface fog capture efficiency is up to 740 mg cm h.

Alveolar ridge loss presents difficulties for implant placement and stability. To address this, alveolar ridge preservation (ARP) is required to maintain bone and avoid the need for ridge augmentation using socket grafting. In this study, a scaffold for ARP was created by fabricating a 3D porous dense microfiber silk fibroin (mSF) embedded in poly(vinyl alcohol) (PVA), which mimics the osteoid template.

Culm strength is crucial for rice growth, nutrition transportation, and structural resilience, which are essential for lodging resistance and stable production. In this study, we identified a rice thin culm mutant tc4, characterized by thinner culms and thicker cavity walls, resulting in weakened culm mechanical strength. Using map-based cloning, the candidate gene was isolated, and complementation and CRISPR/Cas9 experiments confirmed that a single nucleotide substitution in TC4 is responsible for the thin and brittle culm phenotype.

The design and fabrication of nanocatalysts with high accessibility and sintering resistance remain significant challenges in heterogeneous electrocatalysis. Herein, a novel catalyst is introduced that combines electronic pumping with alloy crystal facet engineering. At the nanoscale, the electronic pump leverages the chemical potential difference to drive electron migration from one region to another, separating and transferring electron-hole pairs.

Glucose-6-phosphate isomerase (PGI), a key enzyme that catalyzes the reversible conversion of glucose-6-phosphate and fructose-6-phosphate, plays an important role in plant growth, development, and responses to abiotic stresses and pathogen infections. However, whether and how PGI modulates herbivore-induced plant defenses remain largely unknown. The Brown planthopper (BPH, ) is a devastating insect pest of rice, causing significant damage to rice plants through feeding, oviposition, and disease transmission, resulting in great yield losses.

Single cell adhesion plays a significant role in numerous physiological and pathological processes. Real-time imaging and quantification of single cell adhesion kinetics and corresponding cell-substrate mechanical interaction forces are crucial for elucidating the cellular mechanisms involved in tissue formation, immune responses, and cancer metastasis. Here, we present the development of a plasmonic-based nanomechanical sensing and imaging system (PNMSi) for the real-time measurement of single cell adhesion kinetics and associated nanomechanical forces with plasmonic tracking and monitoring of cell-substrate interactions and the accompanying nanoscale fluctuations.

Emerging evidence indicates that intratumor bacteria exist as an active and specific tumor component in many tumor types beyond digestive and respiratory tumors. However, the biological impact and responsible molecules of such local bacteria-tumor direct interaction on cancer therapeutic response remain poorly understood. Trastuzumab is among the most commonly used drugs targeting the receptor tyrosine-protein kinase erbB-2 (ErbB2) in breast cancer, but its resistance is inevitable, severely limiting its clinical effectiveness.

A novel robust control strategy is proposed in this work to address the dynamic control problem of permanent magnet synchronous motors (PMSM) position tracking and lessen the effect of system parameter and load fluctuations on the dynamic performance of PMSM. The tracking performance is improved by a robust control element built with the Lyapunov method to reduce the impact of uncertain factors such as parameter uncertainty, nonlinear friction, and external interference; the nominal control element is stabilized by the dynamics model. The uniformly bounded and uniformly final bounded systems are proven, and the associated conclusions are provided using the Lyapunov minimax approach.

The properties and device applications of 2D semiconductors are highly sensitive to intrinsic structural defects due to their ultrathin nature. CuInSe (CIS) materials own excellent optoelectronic properties and ordered copper vacancies, making them widely applicable in photovoltaic and photodetection fields. However, the synthesis of 2D CIS nanoflakes remains challenging due to the nonlayered structure, multielement composition, and the competitive growth of various by-products, which further hinders the exploration of vacancy-related optoelectronic devices.

Mimicking the superstructures and properties of spherical biological encapsulants such as viral capsids and ferritin offers viable pathways to understand their chiral assemblies and functional roles in living systems. However, stereospecific assembly of artificial polyhedra with mechanical properties and guest-binding attributes akin to biological encapsulants remains a formidable challenge. Here we report the stereospecific assembly of dynamic supramolecular snub cubes from 12 helical macrocycles, which are held together by 144 weak C-H hydrogen bonds.

Automatic 3-dimensional tooth segmentation on intraoral scans (IOS) plays a pivotal role in computer-aided orthodontic treatments. In practice, deploying existing well-trained models to different medical centers suffers from two main problems: (1) the data distribution shifts between existing and new centers, which causes significant performance degradation. (2) The data in the existing center(s) is usually not permitted to be shared, and annotating additional data in the new center(s) is time-consuming and expensive, thus making re-training or fine-tuning unfeasible.

Decellularization is the process of obtaining acellular tissues with low immunogenic cellular components from animals or plants while maximizing the retention of the native extracellular matrix structure, mechanical integrity and bioactivity. The decellularized tissue obtained through the tissue decellularization technique retains the structure and bioactive components of its native tissue; it not only exhibits comparatively strong mechanical properties, low immunogenicity and good biocompatibility but also stimulates neovascularization at the implantation site and regulates the polarization process of recruited macrophages, thereby promoting the regeneration of damaged tissue. Consequently, many commercial products have been developed as promising therapeutic strategies for the treatment of different tissue defects and lesions, such as wounds, dura, bone and cartilage defects, nerve injuries, myocardial infarction, urethral strictures, corneal blindness and other orthopedic applications.
