A novel ionic liquid MALDI matrix, 3-aminoquinoline/2',4',6'-trihydroxyacetophenone monohydrate (3-AQ/THAP), was developed for the rapid qualitative and quantitative detection of miRNA from biological samples. Compared to the traditional matrix 2,5-dihydroxybenzoic acid (DHB) and previously reported oligonucleotide-specific matrices, such as 3-aminopicolinic acid (3-APA), 3-hydroxypicolinic acid (3-HPA), and 6-aza-2-thiothymine (ATT), the 3-AQ/THAP matrix offers several advantages. It produces fewer alkali metal adduct peaks, exhibits higher sensitivity, and ensures better spot-to-spot repeatability.

Directly probing the heterogeneous conformations of intracellular proteins within their native cellular environment remains a significant challenge in mass spectrometry (MS). Here, we establish an in-cell MS and ultraviolet photodissociation (UVPD) strategy that directly ejects proteins from living cells into a mass spectrometer, followed by 193 nm UVPD for structural analysis. Applying this approach to calmodulin (CaM), we reveal that it adopts more extended conformations within living cells compared with purified samples , highlighting the unique influence of intracellular environments on protein folding.

Flexible magnetic sensors, which have advantages such as deformability, vector field sensing, and noncontact detection, are an important branch of flexible electronics and have significant applications in fields such as magnetosensitive electronic skin. Human skin surfaces have complicated deformations, which pose a demand for magnetic sensors that can withstand omnidirectional strain while maintaining stable performance. However, existing flexible magnetic sensor arrays can only withstand stretching along specific directions and are prone to failure under complicated deformations.

This paper presents a coaxial integrated macro-micro composite actuator. The macro-actuator of the macro-micro composite actuator is similar to a moving coil type voice coil motor, and a giant magnetostrictive actuator is installed coaxially inside it as a micro-actuator. In this work, kinetic models are established for both the macro-actuator and micro-actuator, and based on the models, an automatic disturbance rejection controller is adopted to control the macro-actuator, and a fuzzy sliding mode controller is adopted for the micro-actuator.

Although neo-antigen mRNA vaccines are promising for personalized cancer therapy, their effectiveness is often limited by the immunosuppressive tumor microenvironment (TME). The adenosine AA receptor (AAR) inhibits dendritic cell (DC) function and weakens antitumor T cell responses through hypoxia-driven mechanisms within the TME. This review explores a novel strategy combining neo-antigen mRNA vaccines with AAR antagonists (AARi).

As many treatments kill tumor cells by inducing apoptosis, fluorescent probes that can detect apoptosis are crucial for effective feedback regarding tumor therapy outcomes (in particular, activatable probes for better imaging). Cathepsins are enzymes that are released from lysosomes into the cytoplasm during lysosomal membrane permeabilization-induced apoptosis of many tumor cells, making them potential biomarkers of apoptotic cells. Despite their potential, to the best of our knowledge, no cathepsin-activatable fluorescent probes have been reported for this purpose.
