Background: The efficacy of hetrombopag in Chinese patients with immune thrombocytopenia (ITP) has been demonstrated in a randomized, double-blind, placebo-controlled, multicenter, phase III trial (NCT03222843).

Objective: This study aimed to report comprehensive data on a ≤6-week dose tapering to withdrawal (Stage 3) and an additional 24-week long-term extension period (Stage 4) in this phase III trial.

Patients/methods: Patients who fulfilled the screening criteria were eligible to enter Stage 3 or 4.

Zanubrutinib monotherapy in relapsed/refractory mantle cell lymphoma: a pooled analysis of two clinical trials.

Mantle cell lymphoma (MCL) is a mature B-cell neoplasm with a high initial response rate followed almost invariably by relapse. Here we report the pooled data from 2 studies, BGB-3111-AU-003 and BGB-3111-206, to explore the efficacy of zanubrutinib monotherapy in relapsed/refractory (R/R) MCL. A total of 112 patients were included.

Development and Validation of a Nomogram for Predicting the Disease Progression of Nonsevere Coronavirus Disease 2019.

Background And Objectives: The majority of coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) cases are nonsevere, but severe cases have high mortality and need early detection and treatment. We aimed to develop a nomogram to predict the disease progression of nonsevere COVID-19 based on simple data that can be easily obtained even in primary medical institutions.

Methods: In this retrospective, multicenter cohort study, we extracted data from initial simple medical evaluations of 495 COVID-19 patients randomized (2:1) into a development cohort and a validation cohort.

Under the differentiation induction therapy with all-trans retinoic acid and arsenic trioxide, nearly 95% of typical acute promyelocyte leukemia (APL), which is characterized by the presence of PML-RARA, patients can be cured. Though its good prognosis, if left untreated, the natural survival duration of typical APL patients is only 1 month, but some exceptional cases also exist. Occasionally, we have observed the entire natural clinical course of one extremely indolent APL patient, who developed from pre-APL stage (<20% promyelocytes in bone marrow) to overt-APL stage (≥20% promyelocytes in bone marrow) with one nearly 2-year latency.

Development of a structure-validated hypersexuality scale in Chinese university students.

Background: Hypersexuality is associated with many psychiatric disorders and creates enormous burden for the affected individual, family and society. There are numerous inventories measuring behavioral, emotional or stressful features of hypersexuality, we still need a structure-validated questionnaire to measure hypersexuality in a comprehensive way.

Methods: Based on previous inventories and related clinical descriptions of hypersexuality, we designed a matrix of 72 items related to hypersexual experience, and we invited 282 heterosexual university students who experienced hypersexuality at least once life-long to answer the matrix.

A Phase II Trial of the Bruton Tyrosine-Kinase Inhibitor Zanubrutinib (BGB-3111) in Patients with Relapsed/Refractory Waldenström Macroglobulinemia.

Purpose: Although Bruton tyrosine kinase (BTK) inhibitors have demonstrated promising efficacy in patients with Waldenström macroglobulinemia (WM), data in Asian populations are scarce. This trial is the first to investigate the effect of a BTK inhibitor in Chinese patients with relapsed/refractory (R/R) WM.

Patients And Methods: Patients with R/R WM with at least one prior regimen were enrolled into this single-arm, multicenter, phase II study (NCT03332173) and received zanubrutinib 160 mg twice daily until disease progression or unacceptable toxicity.

Methods: This open-label, single-arm, phase 2 study evaluated the efficacy and safety of envafolimab in patients with previously treated advanced dMMR/MSI-H tumors from 25 clinical sites across China.

As the most common endocrine-related malignant tumor, the prevalence of thyroid cancer (TC) has soared strikingly over the past thirty years then verged to stabilization or even descension temporally. Distributed in a cell-specific manner, circular RNAs (circRNAs) is a novel class of non-coding RNAs characterized by its covalently closed loop without 5'-terminal cap and 3'-terminal poly A tail, which guarantee its distinctive evolutionary conservation and exonucleases resistance. Emerging evidence indicates that circRNA participates in the pathogenesis and carcinogenesis of several cancers including thyroid cancer.

A 3-DNA methylation signature as a novel prognostic biomarker in patients with sarcoma by bioinformatics analysis.

Background: Tumor-specific DNA methylation can potentially be a useful indicator in cancer diagnostics and monitoring. Sarcomas comprise a heterogeneous group of mesenchymal neoplasms which cause life-threatening tumors occurring throughout the body. Therefore, potential molecular detection and prognostic evaluation is very important for early diagnosis and treatment.

Evaluation of circulating tumor cells as a prognostic biomarker for early recurrence in stage II-III breast cancer patients using CytoSorter system: a retrospective study.

Purpose: Circulating tumor cells (CTCs) are known to be associated with late recurrence and poor prognosis in breast cancer (BC). Different CTC enrichment platforms have different CTC cut-off values for poor prognosis. This study aimed to evaluate whether preoperative CTCs could be a prognostic factor for early recurrence of disease in BC patients with resectable tumors, and to ascertain the CTC cut-off value for early recurrence with CytoSorter CTC system.

PDE9 Inhibitor PF-04447943 Attenuates DSS-Induced Colitis by Suppressing Oxidative Stress, Inflammation, and Regulating T-Cell Polarization.

Ulcerative colitis (UC) is a form of inflammatory bowel disease, which manifests as irritation or swelling and sores in the large intestine in a relapsing and remitting manner. In a dextran sulfate sodium sulfate (DSS)-induced UC model in female mice, we found that the levels of cyclic guanosine monophosphate (cGMP) are reduced, while the expression of phosphodiesterase 9A (PDE9A) is highest among all phosphodiesterase (PDEs). Since PDE9 has the highest affinity toward cGMP, we evaluated the selective PDE9 inhibitor PF-04447943 (PF) as a potential candidate for UC treatment.

Bendamustine treatment of Chinese patients with relapsed indolent non-Hodgkin lymphoma: a multicenter, open-label, single-arm, phase 3 study.

Background: Bendamustine was approved in China on May 26th, 2019 by the National Medical Product Administration for the treatment of indolent B-cell non-Hodgkin lymphoma (NHL). The current study was the registration trial and the first reported evaluation of the efficacy, safety, and pharmacokinetics of bendamustine in Chinese adult patients with indolent B-cell NHL following relapse after chemotherapy and rituximab treatment.

Methods: This was a prospective, multicenter, open-label, single-arm, phase 3 study (NCT01596621; C18083/3076) with a 2-year follow-up period.

Background: Intraocular lenses are widely used in the treatment of cataract patients, but currently clinical, procedural and product information is incomplete in many hospitals and there is an urgent need for a database to improve surgical safety, and outcomes.

Methods: Data on the brand and specifications of the intraocular lens, and the postoperative outcome of cataract patients after intraocular lens implantation from January 2017 to June 2018 were collected to create an intraocular lens database as an online public platform.

Results: A total of 96 cataract patients were divided into groups A and B based on preoperative corrected visual acuity.

Acute promyelocytic leukemia (APL) is characterized by the accumulation of promyelocytes in bone marrow. More than 95% of patients with this disease belong to typical APL, which express PML-RARA and are sensitive to differentiation induction therapy containing all-trans retinoic acid (ATRA) and arsenic trioxide (ATO), and they exhibit an excellent clinical outcome. Compared to typical APL, variant APL showed quite different aspects, and how to recognize, diagnose, and treat variant APL remained still challenged at present.

Background: Forearm autotransplantation after parathyroidectomy has turned into the standard method for secondary hyperparathyroidism (SHPT) treatment in chronic kidney disease patients. Our study aimed to explore the effects of three methods including muscle, subcutaneous and muscle + subcutaneous transplant methods on SHPT.

Methods: Seventy five SHPT patients were enrolled and assigned into the muscle + subcutaneous (M + S) (n = 26), muscle (M) (n = 35), and subcutaneous (S) (n = 14) groups.

Benchmarking the Human Leukocyte Antigen Typing Performance of Three Assays and Seven Next-Generation Sequencing-Based Algorithms.

With the great progress made recently in next generation sequencing (NGS) technology, sequencing accuracy and throughput have increased, while the cost for data has decreased. Various human leukocyte antigen (HLA) typing algorithms and assays have been developed and have begun to be used in clinical practice. In this study, we compared the HLA typing performance of three HLA assays and seven NGS-based HLA algorithms and assessed the impact of sequencing depth and length on HLA typing accuracy based on 24 benchmarked samples.

The study aimed to analyze the effect of psychological intervention on perioperative anxiety and depression of patients with severe blepharoptosis undergoing autologous fascia lata frontal muscle suspension, and provide a reference for improving and optimizing patient care plans.

Methods: Ninety-two patients with severe blepharoptosis who underwent autologous fascia lata frontal muscle suspension in our hospital from February 2018 to January 2020 were selected as the research subjects.
