Diabetic foot ulcers, typical non-healing wounds, represent a severe clinical problem. Advanced glycation end-products (AGEs), which create a prolonged pro-inflammatory micro-environment in defective sites, can be responsible for refractoriness of these ulcers. Macrophages are polarized to the M2 phenotype to facilitate the transition from a pro-inflammatory microenvironment to an anti-inflammatory microenvironment, which has been demonstrated to be an effective way to accelerate diabetic wound closure.

Objectives: The prognosis for adults with relapsed/refractory (R/R) B-cell precursor acute lymphoblastic leukemia (BCP-ALL) is poor. Blinatumomab is a CD3/CD19-directed BiTE® (bispecific T-cell engager) molecule approved globally for the treatment of BCP-ALL in adults and children. This multicenter open-label single-arm China registrational study evaluated the safety, efficacy, and pharmacokinetics of blinatumomab in Chinese adults with Philadelphia chromosome-negative (Ph-) R/R BCP-ALL (NCT03476239).

Background: This study aimed to clarify whether the extent of thyroidectomy (total thyroidectomy vs thyroid lobectomy) influences survival in adults with localized medullary thyroid cancer.
Methods: Patients with localized medullary thyroid cancer were identified using the Surveillance, Epidemiology, and End Results database (2000-2018). An independent cohort of patients with localized medullary thyroid cancer were retrospectively reviewed from three medical centers in China from 2010 to 2020.

A 59-year-old male patient with local sinus tract formation due to residual foreign body was admitted to the Second Affiliated Hospital of Zhejiang University College of Medicine on December 17, 2018. The examination showed that the residual foreign body was the component of a sticky cloth implanted when the patient underwent appendectomy 27 years ago. Hypertrophic scar developed at the right-lower abdominal incision for appendectomy 23 years ago and the secondary infection after cicatrectomy resulted in non-healing of the wound.

Objective: This study investigated the feasibility and accuracy of fetal intelligent navigation echocardiography (FINE) for the prenatal diagnosis of congenital heart disease (CHD) by inexperienced and experienced operators.
Method: In this prospective study, all volume data sets from 120 fetuses with a broad spectrum of CHD were acquired using spatiotemporal image correlation technology. The prenatal diagnostic procedures were performed by two operators with different experience (beginner: 1 year and expert: 15 years) using FINE and traditional fetal echocardiography.

Background: HeartModel (HM) is a fully automated adaptive quantification software that can quickly quantify left heart volume and left ventricular function. This study used HM to quantify the left ventricular end-diastolic (LVEDV) and end-systolic volumes (LVESV) of patients with dilated cardiomyopathy (DCM), coronary artery heart disease with segmental wall motion abnormality, and hypertrophic cardiomyopathy (HCM) to determine whether there were differences in the feasibility, accuracy, and repeatability of measuring the LVEDV, LVESV, LV ejection fraction (LVEF) and left atrial end-systolic volume (LAESV) and to compare these measurements with those obtained with traditional two-dimensional (2D) and three-dimensional (3D) methods.
Aim: To evaluate the application value of HM in quantifying left heart chamber volume and LVEF in clinical patients.

Background: Pulmonary regurgitation (PR), though well tolerated for short term in patients with repaired tetralogy of Fallot (rTOF), could lead to right ventricular (RV) dysfunction, arrhythmias, and sudden cardiac death. Pulmonary valve replacement (PVR), considered as the gold-standard treatment for PR, is performed to mitigate these late effects. In this study, we aimed to evaluate the midterm outcomes and predictors of adverse clinical outcomes (ACO).

Background: The tumor microenvironment (TME) plays a pivotal role in cancer progression in papillary thyroid carcinoma (PTC), yet the composition and the phenotype of cells within the TME in bilateral PTC are poorly understood.
Methods: We performed unbiased transcriptome-wide single-cell RNA sequencing (scRNA-seq) analysis on 29,561 cells from 3 pairs of bilateral PTC and 1 non-tumor thyroid sample. The results of the analysis were validated by a large-scale bulk transcriptomic dataset deposited in The Cancer Genome Atlas (TCGA) database.

Hypersexuality is related to functions of personality and emotion and is a salient symptom of bipolar I disorder especially during manic episode. However, it is uncertain whether bipolar I disorder with (BW) and without (BO) hypersexuality exhibits different cerebral activations under external emotion stimuli. In 54 healthy volunteers, 27 BW and 26 BO patients, we administered the visual oddball event-related potentials (ERPs) under external emotions of Disgust, Erotica, Fear, Happiness, Neutral, and Sadness.

Background: Currently, there is no effective tool for predicting the risk of nonventilator hospital-acquired pneumonia (NV-HAP) in older hospitalized patients. The current study aimed to develop and validate a simple nomogram and a dynamic web-based calculator for predicting the risk of NV-HAP among older hospitalized patients.
Methods: A retrospective evaluation was conducted on 15,420 consecutive older hospitalized patients admitted to a tertiary hospital in China between September 2017 and June 2020.

T cell acute lymphoblastic leukemia (T-ALL) is an aggressive hematological malignancy of T cell progenitors, known to be a heterogeneous disease in pediatric and adult patients. Here we attempted to better understand the disease at the molecular level based on the transcriptomic landscape of 707 T-ALL patients (510 pediatric, 190 adult patients, and 7 with unknown age; 599 from published cohorts and 108 newly investigated). Leveraging the information of gene expression enabled us to identify 10 subtypes (G1–G10), including the previously undescribed one characterized by GATA3 mutations, with GATA3R276Q capable of affecting lymphocyte development in zebrafish.

Heart failure with preserved ejection fraction (HFpEF) can arise from hypertension-induced cardiac remodeling. Monocyte/macrophage accumulation and inflammation are crucial elements in the pathogenesis of hypertension-induced cardiac remodeling. The C-X-C chemokine receptor 4 (CXCR4) is a critical regulator of the macrophage-mediated immune response.

Diffuse large B-cell lymphoma (DLBCL) is a heterogeneous group of large lymphoid B cell malignancy with distinct clinical and genetic features. Recently, mutations were identified in DLBCL cases by Next-generation sequencing (NGS), but the clinical features and prognostic impact were not systematically studied. Here, genes in 161 DLBCL samples were sequenced by NGS.
