Engineering Technological Center of Mushroom Industry, School of Biological Science and Biotechnology, Minnan Normal University, Zhangzhou, Fujian, People's Republic of China.

Background: β-Glucan from Lentinus edodes (LNT), an edible mushroom, possesses strong anticancer activity. However, the therapeutic effects of LNT during the occurrence and progression of breast cancer and their underlying molecular mechanisms have not been elucidated.

Methods: Mouse mammary tumor virus-polyoma middle tumor-antigen (MMTV-PyMT) transgenic mice were used as a breast cancer mouse model.

Background It was uncertain if direct endovascular thrombectomy (ET) was superior to bridging thrombolysis (BT) for patients with acute ischemic stroke caused by large-vessel occlusions. We aimed to examine real-world clinical outcomes of ET using nationwide registry data in China and to compare the efficacy and safety between BT and direct ET. Methods and Results Patients treated with ET from a nationwide registry study in China were included.

Achieving adequate lymph node dissection in treating esophageal squamous cell carcinomas by radical lymphadenectomy: Beyond the scope of numbers of harvested lymph nodes.

Oncol Lett

August 2019

Department of Epidemiology and Health Statistics, Fujian Provincial Key Laboratory of Environment Factors and Cancer, School of Public Health, Fujian Medical University, Fuzhou, Fujian 350108, P.R. China.

Previous studies have recommended harvesting a large number of lymph nodes (LNs) to improve the survival of patients with esophageal squamous cell carcinoma (ESCC). These studies or clinical guidelines focus on the total harvested LNs during lymphadenectomy; however, the extent of LN dissection (LND) required in patients with ESCCs remains controversial. The present study proposed a novel individualized adequate LND (ALND) strategy to compliment current guidelines to improve individualized therapeutic efficacy.

Objective: To identify the effect of pregnancy induced hypertension on neonatal outcomes in early and moderate preterm infants of gestational age less than 34 weeks.

Study Design: Prospectively collected data in 773 premature deliveries less than 34 weeks from 10 centers in China between July 2014 and July 2016 were analyzed in this cohort study. Univariate and Multivariate regression analyses were conducted to exam the effect of pregnancy induced hypertension on neonatal outcomes, including mortality to discharge, intrauterine growth restriction, severe brain injury, neonatal respiratory distress syndrome, bronchopulmonary dysplasia, necrotizing enterocolitis, early onset of sepsis and retinopathy of prematurity.

Objective: To screen out the suitable erythrocytes compatible to the results from the routine blood matching for the patients suffered from the relapse of acute hemolytic transfusion reaction.

Methods: The in vitro hemolysis test was used to screen out the erythrocytes from the non-hemolytic donors for the transfusion of erythrocytes into the patients.

Results: Three U of the non-hemolytic erythrocytes were obtained by using hemolytic test in vitro, the post-transfusion effects were good, and the hemolytic reaction will not occure once more.

Objective: To investigate diagnostic value of ultrasonography scores (US) and contrast-enhanced ultrasonography (CEUS) in evaluating rheumatoid arthritis (RA) activity.

Methods: 39 patients with RA were included and the metacarpophalangeal, proximal interphalangeal, wrist, elbow and knee joints of them were examined by high frequency ultrasound. The severe joints and the related indexes (synovial thickness, synovial blood flow, joint effusion and bone erosion) were exposed.

Background: We have previously studied the histone acetylation in primary human leukemia cells. However, histone H3 methylation in these cells has not been characterized.

Methods: This study examined the methylation status at histone H3 lysine 4 (H3K4) and histone H3 lysine 9 (H3K9) in primary acute leukemia cells obtained from patients and compared with those in the non-leukemia and healthy cells.

Objective: To investigate the effect of phenylhexyl isothiocyanate (PHI) on histone acetylation and apoptosis in hepatocellular carcinoma cell line (SMMC-7721) in vitro.

Methods: The viability of SMMC-7721 cells was determined by trypan blue exclusion. Apoptotic cells were assessed by TUNEL assay.
